    Consommé

I was thrilled to discover that a Birria-Landia truck had opened in the LES. Although I'd never tried the famed creations of the original in Jackson Heights, I was blown away by how delicious the mulita and tacos were at the LES truck. The mulita was definitely the best I'd ever had. Since I love melted cheese and quesadillas, I preferred the mulita and its gooey cheese over the tacos. The tacos were assuredly some of the best I've had in the city. The spicy and well-seasoned shredded beef were incredible. The consommé was also noteworthy and a highlight. The spice level of the chilies and richness were unexpected; this too was probably the best birria consommé I've ever had. The food truck had two kiosks for ordering. However, tax and a 3.5% fee are charged if paying by card.

Food truck by soho that takes cash and card. If you use card, there's additional fees/tax. Would recommend paying by cash if you want to avoid the fees. Tacos were delicious. It came as a corn tortilla with chopped birria, onion, and cilantro sauce. The tortilla was so soft and I really liked that they gave two tortillas with the taco. The filling was savory and meaty with just the right amount of spice. You can taste that it was fresh and made on the spot. The consommé was the highlight of the order. Paired so well with the tacos and it was absolutely delicious. So flavorful and warm. Would be so good on a cold day if you were looking for some soup. Had a small and there was a good amount of meat in the soup. Definitely a must try off their menu. I had been wanting to try Birria-Landia for so long and this did not disappoint.

I was craving birria and dragged my friends over to this food truck because I had heard such good things. Thankfully, our expectations were met. Ordering was easy with the two kiosks they have available, and the menu is very straightforward. I got 2 birria tacos, and we split a large size of consume. The large size was enough for 3 people to share, and we still had leftover. My friends ordered the mulita too, which i definitely want to try next time. The taco meat was tender and flavorful by itself, but the consume took it to the next level, The tortilla held up despite being dunked in the consume. I preferred mine with the pickled onions they provided and a sprinkle of lime. The only two real inconveniences were that there was nowhere nearby to sit and enjoy the tacos - we ended up walking to a park over 15 minutes away. It also would have been nice to have wet wipes etc given how messy birria can be, but that won't stop me from going back the next time I want birria!

As a native Californian, I've always been disappointed with NY tacos, but this place changed my mind. The tacos were super flavorful and a very good portion for the price. The mulitas I saw looked even never with the melted cheese, and will be on my list for next time. It took ~5 minutes between ordering and digging in, and it was totally worth it!

The best in NY hands down, they always remember the onions and sauce on the side and the consomme is theeeee best! Thank goodness they have more locations now. Service is always quick and good too.

We tried everything and they all tasted great. You order your food on the iPad and wait for the order. Wait was not bad. I also got mulita, it was so yummy, didn't get to take a picture :)

On the corner of East Houston Street and Bowery is where you can frequently spot this food truck. You place your order in the tablet on the sidewalk. I did not see a cash option. Everyone takes it to go, since no tables or chairs. There are photos if the various dishes offered. What I had was delicious. The food was a tad spicy so my wife did not really enjoy it as much as i did. Ordering was quick and easy.

I do like that there's a Birria-Landia truck location now in LES, so a schlep over to Williamsburg is no longer needed. The food is as good as always (the mulitas, yummm) I don't like being surprised to find that their online order for pickup (on their own website) is about 20% more expensive than ordering in person at the truck. One would think incentivizing online pickup orders would help them streamline and process more orders, but it looks like their pickup is powered by Doordash which notoriously charges the highest fees of all the big third-party delivery/pickup software companies. The ordering tablet attached to the truck is from Snackpass, which to the best of my knowledge also offers a great online pickup platform with lower fees than Doordash. My recommendation to the Birria-Landia owners is to switch everything over to Snackpass to save themselves some money and stop confusing customers with inconsistent pricing.

lowkey this was one of the best taco i've had. i only got one cuz i was so full from other places but i came across this truck and remembered seeing it on tiktok. the tortillas had the perfect amount of crisp still being a soft taco, whatever it was dipped it, it was soso flavorful ugghhh. the meat was tender and everything just came together really well. this was the first time i saw kiosks at a food truck but it was nice so that they could get it out faster. this was one of my favorite eats visiting ny i would def come back next time i visit!

Delicious Birria. Had this place on my list for my first visit to NYC and it did not disappoint. The Consomé was filled with plenty of beef and had really good flavor. The Birria Tacos were absolutely delicious and some of the best i've had. The only negative was the Mulita which didn't travel well and got mushy, but not a big deal. Will definitely visit here again.

I've been hyping this up for myself for quite a while, so finally decided to come and give it a try. Thursday night, no line, still around a 10 minute wait since they're making it fresh. I got 2 tacos, a mulita, and a side of the consomme. Everything was great. The tacos were flavorful, the meat was tender, and the onions helped cut the richness a bit. The consomme when spooned on top added an even stronger umami and richness to everything, and to my surprise, didn't cause the tortilla to entirely fall apart. The mulita is also great; I actually preferred it over the taco. The cheese really adds to the dish, but the form factor does mean you get less consomme. The consomme itself also had a surprisingly large amount of meat in it, which I naturally appreciated! Overall, really yummy tacos. Definitely give them a go!

The platter comes with perfectly seasoned chicken over rice, along with fresh lettuce and tomatoes. I don't go as much as I use to, as the price has more than doubled since 2017/18. However, that has nothing to do with my rating. My problem is that meats have gone downhill. I used to love gyro meat - never sure what it was exactly lamb or beef - but now it is just gross and greasy. The chicken which used to be excellent is now very dry. The white sauce is great and the rice is fine, but that is it. Not worth getting anymore. Maybe one of their competitors is better, can't really be worse.

Half the spots nearby had already shut down or had lines I wasn't about to stand in, and this truck was right there, lit up and moving fast. Got the two-meat combo over rice. The guys inside don't waste time. I had my plate in a few minutes even with a couple people ahead of me. Chicken and beef both came out hot, and the rice underneath was fresh and fluffy. Ask for the extra spicy red if you want to suffer a little. Portions are big for the price. I walked away full and happy. Fries are the one thing I'd skip (they go soft quick), but with the meat and sauces all over the plate I didn't care. If you're out late and everything else is closed, this is the move. They open at 7:30 and stay open well into the night, which is exactly when you want them. I'll be back the next time I'm wandering around starving after midnight.

I heard them cooking and the smell was waffling outside but the truck was still not open at 7:30.. when they did finally open... we ordered the 2 meat combo platter and a beef chapli platter ...they still catered to some customers on the side before the people on the line. We tried a lil of the beef chapli a hr later. Salad was flavorful. Meat was nicely seasoned. Rice was soft and fluffy. I loved everything but didn't care for the fries. We got the white, green and hot sauce. The 2 meat combo was very tasty...even though we ate it 2 days later. I'd say this tasted much better than the other popular spots in the city. Will definitely come back in a few days to try their falafel too.

I stumbled upon it around lunchtime and saw a long line stretching down the block. Normally, that would be a deterrent -- but I quickly realized everyone was there for a reason. The line moves surprisingly fast (these guys have it down to a science), and it's absolutely worth the wait. I ordered the Steak Basil on Rice and the Kimchi Sesame Steak on Rice, and both dishes were mind-blowingly good. The steak was tender, juicy, and perfectly seasoned, and the sauces had that perfect balance of heat, sweetness, and umami that makes you close your eyes after every bite. The rice was fluffy and soaked up every drop of flavor. You can tell Dorjee, the owner, takes real pride in what he serves. He's one of the nicest guys you'll ever meet -- greeting regulars by name, joking with the crowd, and hustling behind the grill like a pro. Pro tip: Get there early. They sell out by 2 PM every single day, and once the steak is gone, it's gone.

I've heard so many great things about the cheong fun here and how cheap it is. I was recommended to go earlier in the day since they leave early or whenever they're sold out. They offer soy sauce, peanut sauce, and/or chili sauce. Definitely only get the soy sauce for the protein options and peanut sauce + soy sauce for the plain one! No place to sit to eat, so just be mindful of that - especially since the containers they give you the food in can be super hot! We ordered one fresh shrimp rice roll, and waited about 10 minutes for our food to come out. It is PIPING hot so it was hard to hold and eat, but we managed. The first few bites were delicious and the rice roll was super silky. However I felt like since it was shoved inside the plastic container, the rice roll keeps cooking in its own heat, and thus got overly goopy.
