Don't have birria too often, as most SD taco shops simply don't have it. This taco truck specializes in it, and despite the higher than average cost for their burrito or quesadilla, is worth the $16 craveable flavor. The burrito in particular is grilled slightly crisper on its side for a little more flavor & crisp. If you're looking for something small and cheaper with all the flavor, recommend the $5.50 birria quesotaco or $8 mulita. Over the past 3 weeks, I've probably visited them at least six times, having multiple tacos, quesotacos, burritos, and a quesadilla. Consomme is not complimentary and is a $3 side, however each birria item is an sufficiently juicy delicious mess! If that mess is a concern, the burrito can be the most manageable mess if you keep the wrapper on the bottom while eating from the unwrapped top. Don't forget to grab extra napkins & use the hand sanitizer! Please note they're only open & present during work weekdays, and only til 1p. If you're nearby in Sorrento Valley, Miramar, or Mira Mesa, give Birria MI Gusto ES a shot.

Definitely recommend the San Felipe taco and Famous Krazy ceviche. The portions are huge and they have great deals every day. They have a sauce bar below the pick up area with lots of options! This Miramar location is perfect for me because I live in Mira Mesa! I went on a Thursday afternoon, unfortunately they were out of fish but that's ok, I wanted the smoked fish (marlin) anyway and they had it. I ordered a spicy smoked fish burrito and it came with a taco (thurs special) although the taco was supposed to be fish, they kindly substituted it for a shrimp one. When I tell you that was the best burrito I've had in a long time, omg! And they did not skimp on the fish either. It was not overall spicy but that smokiness and freshness of the fish. Nice toasted tortilla. Chef's kiss!! The shrimp taco was just as good if not better. I couldn't finish it, but I sure threw them both in my air fryer on reheat the next day and they tasted even better. Don't forget the salsa's and cebollas which bring the food to a whole 'notha level.. and please don't forget to tip! Service was also on point, they were very friendly. I plan on being a repeat customer.

I honestly should have walked away and tried again another time because everything in me wants to love this place and give it 5 stars so a lot of this is on me for staying. But if I need to give an honest review of my experience, this one was lackluster. The vendor was friendly but I definitely felt rushed. The food came out visually beautiful but was outrageously expensive. The burekas are large so if you want to try two flavors you're looking at least $30 pre tax and tip. I would have rather they be smaller like empanada size and get to try a few more affordably without having to go in on it with friends if I happen to be alone that day. On the other hand, if you are with family or a group of friends, this would be perfect for sharing! I want to say that it was delicious and worth the price but their fresh crunchy olives that came as an accompaniment were actually the highlight of my experience. I ordered the classic potato bureka and the strawberry ricotta. The classic potato was served barely lukewarm so it didn't taste great. And the strawberry ricotta had a weird cheese to jam ratio--the inside was hardly strawberry. More than anything it tasted like grainy powder sugar ricotta. I would like to give them another chance, and when I do, I will update my review accordingly. I'm hoping this was just an off night and for 5 stars next time because they look and smell amazing and in theory this is the type of thing I would love.

I ordered the Golden Potato with potato, carmelized onion and sesame topping and the Cheesy Corn with, as the name says, cheese and corn. The flaky pastry was both crisp with rich butteriness and the fillings were great. What I loved was that the box includes pickles, olives, hard boiled eggs and sauces. It was such a nice, tangy combination. If you're someone that likes briney flavors, the mix of the box makes this such a treat. In addition, we ordered a sweet bureka with strawberry ricotta. It was good, but the savory ones were stand out! The ordering and pick up process was easy. We regularly frequented Relic Bageri so were familiar with the area. They take online orders and pick up is from the same storefront area. You text to let them know you're there. I just went in and let someone know and got my order fresh and quick.

This place is very good and all the guys were super friendly. The Philly cheesesteak was so good. The sandwich came out super hot and was filled with so much meet and the combo of the onions, cheese and bell peppers (even though I'm not a big fan of them) was so tasty. It also comes with mushrooms (which I love) but we were sharing and he doesn't like mushrooms so we opted out of them. The sandwich is pretty big, I only ate a quarter of it and was full! Try them out.. either at the Miramar or North Park location... but check their schedule first.

The menu was small and curated, making a selection easy... or so I thought. I honestly didn't much care for the Cheesesteak, finding the Chipotle Avocado Beef way more enticing alongside their well-known Super 3-Way Beef sandwich, but the dude somehow convinced us in our ultra hungry states that we didn't want the Chipotle Avocado Beef, that their "well-known" Cheesesteak was a must instead. Again, super hungry, so didn't argue, but was confuzzed as to why he was trying to talk us out of something I wanted in spite of its similarities to the 3-way beef sandwich (his other reason for steering us towards to the Cheesesteak huh?). Said Cheesesteak with the works (cheese, onions, pepper and mushrooms), while piping hot and gigantic, was bland and the bread a little crusty/ old. The 3-way beef, while the meat was not exactly warmed up enough on the grill, was actually super delicious. Not nearly as delicious as a famed beef sandwich from a shop in PB, but still good-ish. The onion bun was much preferred to the crusty cheesesteak bread too. All sandwiches are bound to get you sloppy and full with such a generous protein portion. You will not leave hungry. I was much fulfilled following my state of hunger, but with much left to be desired for the Cheesesteak that I didn't even want!
