I finally made it to P&Ms!…read more I was in Tucson running errands after taking my dog to a vaccine clinic. I chose this place because it's dog-friendly. Dark clouds were moving in from the South so I wasn't sure if the patio was still open when I walked in at 3:15pm on a Friday. I was immediately greeted by the friendly staff. While the patio was open, the host did tell me it was windy and that I could sit inside with my dog in the covered dining area off the patio. "Is she friendly?" he asked me. "As long as no other dogs are around!" I replied. My dog was tired from her vaccines and was very quiet. She lay down and snoozed throughout my meal, although I did toss her some chicken when no one was looking. I was only the third table back there. I ordered chips and salsa ($1 extra) and my Chicken Burro enchilada style came out moments later. Service was excellent throughout my meal. I ordered the sour cream-green chile sauce over my burro. It was very tasty! The chicken was good, but the rice was very salty. The flour tortilla was thick, too. I ate it all because I was hungry. I like how this restaurant is designed. The bar is in the front, separated by a long hall way that then opens into two separate dining areas. One dining area is its own room and both face the patio. The patio has a large cascading water fountain that I'm sure is lovely on a summer evening. I will definitely be back!

Ever since a trip to ABQ, I have been craving good hatch chile sauce like what I had there. We…read moredon't have many options for New Mexican style Mexican food in Tucson, so I appreciate the few spots we have that are trying to keep the style alive here! It saddens me to say this about a long-time Tucson staple, but I was not a huge fan of Poco and Mom's. I got the Silver City breakfast and added red chile pork. It's hash browns smothered with onion, green chile sauce, eggs, red chile pork, and cheese. I will start off by saying that the green chile sauce was good; tangy and flavorful. However, I did not enjoy the taste or texture of the hash browns - to me, they tasted like they were rehydrated dry hash browns from a box. The red chile pork was dry and tough, but the red chile sauce itself was fine. This breakfast was accompanied by a side of refried beans, which were on the blander side compared to most I've had at restaurants in Tucson. Another person in my party had the New Mexico red chile enchilada. This is where things went more downhill. The red chile sauce tasted bitter and almost burnt, nothing like I've had in New Mexico. It was not good. Their dish came with a side of rice which was also very underwhelming. The flavor was fine, but it didn't have that light and fluffy texture that good Mexican rice does - it was more dense and slightly gummy. The last person in our party got a ground beef chimi and didn't enjoy the flavor of the seasoning used on the ground beef. Could be a personal preference thing. They did enjoy the sauce it was smothered with, though. I did enjoy the atmosphere in Poco and Mom's. It is very cozy and the southwestern decor was charming. Our waitress was also great! I may be back to try their drinks or their sopapillas, but I don't think I'd return for anything else.

I started with the ube mocktail mule (choice of ube or prickly pear flavor). It was delicious and had a strong ube flavor! The entree I chose was the Herb Seared Salmon. It is not labeled gluten free, but can be made gluten free by swapping out the barley for a different side- I chose the citrus rice. It was all delicious! For dessert, there are actually two gluten free dessert options (unusual!) and sorbet! I chose the Maple Chai Torte and it was incredible! So flavorful and delicious! Lots of gluten free options here, and menu with the GF options labeled! And the views! Pretty strings of lights on the patio, and gorgeous mountain views!

We enjoyed the zero proof Pom Pom Press, and the complimentary jalapeño corn bread was really delicious! We shared the chips and salsa and the short rib tacos (we added on a 4th taco, but because they were so generously filled we could have just shared the 3!) The tacos were great - but the avocado salsa had absolutely no flavor. We added a generous squeeze of lime and a little salt and it was better. We loved the convenience of having a nice restaurant on site and we would definitely eat there again next time we're in town.

I am taking some home and luckily this place is close to my house so I can get more anytime I run out!!! I had the carnitas tacos and the flavors are the best I have had since moving back to the area. We love El Patio and Manuel's but Goyitas takes heat to the next level in the red sauces! Great beer, fast service, centrally located, and lots of seating. The place is industrial chic with lots of windows. Poor Taco Bell in the parking lot has got to be feeling the heat. Hubby had a beef burrito with Christmas sauce meaning red and green split and I have got to tell you, I wish I had done that too! My carnitas tacos were delicious but the tortillas fell apart which I hate. His ground beef burrito was wonderful from end to end with the two sauces. The chips and salsa will keep me on the week to week visit!! You have got to give this place a try!! You will not be sorry. Jazmine is sweet, attentive, and smiling all the time!

Recommend: Yes…read more Pros: One of the BEST modernized, and decorated, sports bar/sit-down, restaurants I've seen in the local Tucson/Sahuarita area that creates an open, spacious feel with numerous overhead T.V.s and spacious seating including a 'party' room in the back for larger groups. Goyitas is a family ran business and the restaurant is truly, very appealing with a beautifully decorated interior, clean, reasonably sized outdoor seating that's styled for the holidays and very well presented throughout the establishment. A highly upscaled, modernized take on New Mexican/southwestern specials that specialize in these categories; here's a brief take on their offerings. - Taco Plates such as the Chicken or Ground Beef Tacos plate, served with a side of rice and beans. -Flautas Plate which includes two rolled corn tortilla flautas stuffed with your choice of chicken or shredded beef, topped with sour cream, guacamole, and cheese, served with rice and beans. -Chile Relleno Plate which comes with two chile rellenos, rice, beans, and a tortilla. -Enchilada Style Burrito (a lunch special) smothered in red or green chile with your choice of chicken or beef, served with rice or beans. -Rolled Cheese Enchiladas (available à la carte). Now once you DO decide on what entree you want to order up, (there's a hefty, two-sided laminated menu that will take you some time to get through), they have a wonderful in house Shuffleboard you can play while waiting that is a nice touch for people to gather around and socialize with. Unfortunately, I'm not able to discern the if style of food here being classified as New Mexican was or is specific cuisine that you would identify with comes from that geographic location per se when compared to the many other reviews, but for my party of 20 people we just thoroughly enjoyed the cuisine as presented. What mattered to us was the quality of the food, preparedness, taste etc.. Goyitas worked to feed a party of 20 extremely quickly. All meals were well presented, not hot, but very warm and only a few had 'take home' bags, as every plate was otherwise devoured! The plates were FULL of food and the added side samples of flavored sauces were a delicious touch in addition to the hot chips and salsa presented upon first sitting down. Our meal was primarily an end of year dinner/collaboration and it went perfectly at Goyitas and notably, the Service/Staff were always present and courteous. No one mentioned anything dissatisfying, so from a group of 20, the meals were absolutely on point in our opinion! Sahuarita and Green Valley suffer for not having a variety of sit down restaurants and It was absolutely a pleasant place to have a large gathering. We really enjoyed the presentation and delivery here even getting to speak with the owner, Jose. A lot of effort has gone into this restaurant's appeal, build and menu so I would say, it will certainly stay on our list of local restaurants to return too! Please come check it out and see for yourself!
