I had a very bad experience today at the restaurant. I have been a recurring customer to Biryani & Co from more than 2 years and there is no doubt abt the food quality and the service. The restaurant usually closes for lunch at 2:30 pm and I have called today at 2:00 pm for placing a Togo order but to my surprise the guy who picked up the called said that they are closed when I have asked him that your restaurant closes at 2:30 and why don't u accept orders at 2:00 - the reply was simple we are closed now and hangs up the call. I've reached the restaurant at 2:25 pm and I see the Open sign and went inside to inquire why didn't he take the order. I was picking up a rental car next door to the restaurant so wanted to place the order. When I asked the guy that I still see an open sign and you didn't take an order at 2:00 pm. He responds arrogantly saying that we are closed and I told him I'm a recurring customer and I have placed orders many times. His response was I don't know you voice and I can't recognize whether you are recurring customer or not. I agree with him but my point was that I know when the restaurant closes and when the kitchen closes. His response and attitude was arrogant. Management should look into this. I would never ever go this place again due to bad hospitality. My rating is for the customer service not for the food. read more

ZOMG THAT NAAN THO. I found out about this place yesterday, and today a co-worker and I checked it out. Our chicken masala delivered huge proportions of rich and flavorful curry, and for my $13 check I also got delish-but-unaesthetically-pleasing chicken and egg soup, watermelon and mint salad, crazy-tasty home fries (and half of my lunch portion in a takeaway box to enjoy tomorrow). We were greeted as soon as we arrived and shown to a clean table. Our water glasses were constantly refilled, and the service was prompt. I could have done with ice, but shame on me for not asking. The supplemental lunch buffet was an unexpected value, and everything I tried, I liked. I'll allude to popular culture and say that IN THE OLYMPICS OF MY MOUTH, the naan was the Gold Medal winner. It was hot, buttery, doughy, and crisp in all the right places. I took two pieces home and regret not taking the entirety of the basket. I'll be back for more of that bread! I'm really on the fence on how to write this review. I LOVE the food here. I mean I really think the flavors, the spice, and the variety here are outstanding. I love the Murgh Masala, goat chettinad, Andrha spicy goat curry, egg masala, vindaloo, and the Gongura Goat Biryani. My entire family could practically fist fight over the last bits of Paneer Butter Masala. Aside from their somewhat floppy, chewy naan, this food is outstanding. So I bet you're wondering... why only 3 stars? Oh let me tell you. Let's first start out by telling you that I am a spice fiend. I love overly spicy food. I do literally every spice challenge I'm presented with, make sure I'm on every wall that has a spice challenge, and I've signed more release forms for something I'm about to eat that I can remember. I love spicy food. I especially love spicy Indian food and I only order mild Indian food for my kids. This last Sunday, I wanted Indian food for my birthday dinner. I decided that since I liked their food so much I would order extra so I have leftovers to eat throughout the week. I also decided that I'd like my wife to be able to eat all of it - so instead of ordering "very spicy" for myself, I ordered just "spicy" on all of our dishes (Egg Masala, Murgh Masala, Gongura Goat Biryani) and "mild" on our two orders of Paneer Butter Masala. This is literally the first time I've NOT ordered "Very Spicy" from here. Much to my surprise it was the most uncomfortably painful level of spice I've ever experienced in my life. I don't even know how a liquid can be so spicy. I can eat ghost peppers and this meal was almost unbearable. My wife was unable to finish anything on her plate but the mild Paneer Butter Masala (she typically orders spicy) but I'm a glutton for punishment. Despite the napalm I was ingesting, it still tasted amazing as I'd expect, and I continued to eat it. Friends, what followed next was a blurry, painful three full days of what I can only describe as the most EXTREME gastric distress. Outside of food poisoning, I've never had to google "should I go to the ER if" after eating to-go food (according to google, I should have). Im sitting here in the fourth day still taking it easy. Will I eat there again? I'm still alive so... probably. I'm not sure what happened to their food on that day. All I can say is it wasn't just spicy - it was irresponsible (my wife's words). Well...I think my search for a good Biryani ends at aptly named Biryani & co! In specific, I love their Egg Biryani. Well spiced, delicate and oh so yum! The fried boiled egg has the perfect surface to hold on to the tasty gravy. There were many things we ordered. I tried almost all their vegetarian appetizers and everything tasted amazing. The ginger note in most of the Indo-Chinese appetizers was dominant and added to the flavor and aroma of the dish. But once the egg biryani was served, I was hooked on it and ate nothing else. Service was friendly and food came pretty timely. I really like the waitress getting the little one's orders before anything. This place has great south Indian food and good customer service. We have been taking to-go coffee 's every week since last few months and they have been very consistent in taste and packaging. We take to-go curries too ( boneless chicken biryani, Hyderabadi murg masala, chicken korma)and they taste great. My son and I enjoy Indian food and saw the ratings so we decided to give it a try after church. So glad we came here! The food was excellent and our server explained to us what was in each dish and how it was prepared. She also told us how the new chef has a real passion for cooking and enjoys what he does. Well, it shows in the food we had! My son had goat for the first time and I had my usual: Chicken tikka masala, samosas and naan bread. However, the curry sauce in this dish was a slightly different blend of spices that made it VERY good. When I asked how it was made we got all the way to "a lot of different secret spices" and that's all I got. LOL The place is nicely furnished and the staff very friendly. This place is amazing! We went here on our last night in Austin following a recommendation from a friend and were sad that we hadn't eaten here earlier on our stay. We ordered the (fried?) chicken biryani and paneer tikka masala - the masala in particular was so good. There was such a depth of flavor and spices to it that I don't have the knowledge to describe, but it was definitely better than any other tikka masala I've had. The mild was pretty spicy but oh so good. I also haven't loved paneer from other places I've tried, but it was so delicious here. Loved this place, the food was delicious. The restarant was clean and our waitstaff were very helpful in helping us choose our dishes, as this was our first time here. The Chicken 65 was perfectly cooked and had quite a kick to it. Our waitress recommended the Gobi Manchurian; which is fried cauliflower with their signature sauce... this dish was so tasty; you have to try it. A-MAY-ZING!! Coming from New Jersey and getting some good Indian food at some authentic places, this restaurant does not disappoint! You also can't beat their prices. Two of us got dosa, cheese naan, chicken biryani, and dessert all for $40! They deserve every one of the five stars I can give, and the service was amazing. This was my favorite Indian food restaurant in town and for the first two times I ordered, the food was amazing and very authentic but today it didn't taste the same. It seemed like all the recipes had changed. I'm not sure if maybe there's a new chef or not. The food was still good but not as delicious as the other two times we ordered food from here. It was also a lot less spicy, the bread was burned a little and not as buttery-tasting, the Khorma was not at all as good and it used to be life-changing, the rice wasn't as good, and the saag paneer was salty now.
