Y'all sleeping' on this place! Came on a Saturday for dinner and it was mostly empty. After taking my first bite I couldn't believe there wasn't a line out the door. Staff was very friendly and attentive. Food was excellent and it satisfied my craving for good Indian food in the Austin area. Curry on over to this place and spread the word. Bring your appetite

SERVICE/AMBIANCE: - Plenty of parking - The restaurant was very clean and the interior was nicely decorated - There was a language barrier and our waitress didn't really seem to speak language - We went on a Saturday night and were the only ones in the restaurant, which maybe should have been telling... FOOD: - There was complimentary fried chips and chutney. We ordered butter chicken, garlic naan, and goat dum biryani. The butter chicken was good, but nothing amazing. The goat dum biryani was horrible. When it came out, I was surprised because it looked like plain white rice. It was very dry and there wasn't much meat. The taste of cardamom was way too strong and overpowering.

Food was all packed with flavor. I would have enjoyed fewer bones in the goat sukkha but it wasn't too bad. Biriyani was a bit too heavy with cardamom the chutney and raita that came with it helped bring down the strong cardamom flavor. Tandoori roti was good but they did feel a bit thin and brittle, so I'm assuming they were out for a while and not freshly made. Would have been great to get freshly made food. Chicken chettinad nailed it. Especially with the white basmati mixed in. Service was good. Waitress couldn't answer some basic questions that we asked but we figured it out. It was a bit slow for a Saturday lunch service but we didn't complain because that meant faster service for us! lol ambiance was good overall and a bit airy

This place is my favorite Indian restaurant in Austin. Its around a mile from my apartment so I'm here easily 2-3 times a month. Things I've tried: * chicken tikka masala (duh) * Andhra spicy chicken curry * Chicken Vindaloo * Lamb Saag * Lamb Rogan Josh * and many more... Things I've LOVED: * chicken tikka masala (duh) * Andhra spicy chicken curry * Chicken Vindaloo * Lamb Saag * Lamb Rogan Josh * and many more... No indoor seating! Just get your food and run! (it's the type of meal you want to be on your couch in loose pants for anyways...)

This place was AMAZING! For my first time having Indian food...I was very impressed. We picked one menu item to share then asked our server to pick us a second. I notice when I have a server pick a dish often times they point out something expensive but our server picked a great dish that was on the cheaper side which makes me feel it was an honest recommendation. The portions were also huge (My boyfriend typically eats an entire pizza by himself) and we didn't finish all the food. The flavors were vibrant and appetizing and. The service was fast and friendly the entire time and when I called ahead. This is a must try and we will definitely be back!! I love that tables are all set when you walk in to give it an extra fancy feel and they are placed upside down on mats to maintain cleanliness standards. In total we paid about $45 and ate out leftover for dinner so price wise this place definitely holds its value. Thank you to the staff for a great meal!

This is by far the best Indian restaurant in the Austin area. Everything is fresh. They grind their own flour. Just simply amazing!!!!

Is the head chef Pakistani or Indian? That determines the food taste a lot in my opinion.

He is Indian, to be specific South Indian, it's more of Hyderabadi Cuisine

Does it have a lunch buffet?

Biryani & Co. Doesn't serve regular lunch buffet but they do serve complimentary salad/soup/appetizer bar during weekdays lunch times. Its our regular team lunch place and we love their food and service.

There was one customer waiting, and not another person. I waited about ten minutes. My son loves chicken Tikka masala, so we ordered him some. It is spicy. Beyond the spice the chicken was tough, so even if the spice was toned down the chicken wasn't great. The tandoori chicken is nice and flavorful and tender. $17 for three drumsticks and two thighs might be a bit steep. Overall not an overwhelmingly good experience.

The only things I could identify was ground up horse gram, some sweet onions, and some thinly shaved ginger, but it had a lot of complexity.
