    Fresh pav, butter loaded
    Suraj T.

It is so good to see someone going above and beyond to recreate mumbai pav bhaji and vada pav....the owner makes his own Pav which was very good...we tried both masala and normal butter pav (what you get everywhere else in USA is a "bun")he makes his own masala...he served us hot vada pavs and gave fried salted mirchi(india style) ...vada pav and the red chutney served was super tasty...pav bhaji came loaded with butter and was made fresh....the owner is trying his best to serve everything on time and fresh Few suggestions for the owner if you are reading this: 1. Put a little less turmeric in vadapav, everything else is super 2. Put little less tomatoes in pav bhaji 3. Please use Amul Butter if you are not

A super friendly and nice chef! Recently discovered this Mumbai spl food truck serving vada pav pav Bhaji and some cutting chai. Came here at 8:45pm and the potato mash for the vada pav was over. The owner was super sweet to make a fresh batch of vada pav for us. Pav Bhaji- the masala pav was buttery and mildly spicy- yummy! The bhaji ( another name for mixed and mashed vegetables concoction with aromatic Indian spices)- the bhaji was okay.. I felt there was something missing in the bhaji. (Or a little too much tomato) The vada pav on the other hand was wow - very good portion size (very Texan) Since we were the last ones waiting in our food the owner made some Masala chai for us - loved it! He was kind enough to not add sugar in the chai :) Overall - if u are missing Mumbai vada pav highly recommend this food truck !

Delicious and authentic. Call beforehand and order. Also be ready to come twice as he may be out of power, fryer is broken or anything else, then just ask him to call you back when it's ready :) overall great experience despite challenges, will definitely come again!

So this is a very hit or miss place to get your grub. First off you can't just show up at the location and expect to order your food on the spot. Neither it is posted anywhere that order ahead. So if you really want this food then order ahead and hope that he is serving the food that day. I have called a few times and just to find out that he is closed since there was fire or his stuff got stolen out of the truck. Moving forward from all the drama this past Friday was my lucky day and I was able to order ahead and pick up my food in the evening. He only serves one thing but he does it good. Food was excellent and tasted authentic. I am taking 2 stars off simply due to the whole ordering process and lackluster customer service. Other than that good is good. I will go back as long as I can get the food

Hands down the best Vadapav I've had in the U.S.! It is not a bun, it is the original Mumbai style pav, sukka (dry) chutney, and green chillies on the side. Imi, the owner, makes everything in house which is the beauty of it all. If you want to reminisce the good old days or really know how vada pav is originally made in Mumbai look no further. I hope more and more folks can discover this place. Imi has limited curated items -pav bhaji and vada pav- simple, authentic and just made the way they should be. Also, Imi is so down to earth and a great conversationalist! Definitely a 10 star for this treasure troin Austin from my side!

So freaking good. I didn't eat there but brought it home. 20 mins later the Vada Pav was still delicious. Cant wait to go back. My dad who was born and raised in Mumbai approves.

Best Pav Bhaji I had in recent time. It's simply awesome, best in Austin. I have been visiting to this place owners previous food joint - Chicken Lollipop from past 4 years. It used to be in Braker lane and then moved to Chikon Street in downtown. He used to prepare best Chicken Lollipop and Shawarma wrap. Even Vada Pav used to be great. I highly recommend this place!!

There was one customer waiting, and not another person. I waited about ten minutes. My son loves chicken Tikka masala, so we ordered him some. It is spicy. I'm into a moderate spice, and this is burning my lips as I type. There was no option when ordering online to determine level of spice so we weren't ready for that. Beyond the spice the chicken was tough, so even if the spice was toned down the chicken wasn't great. The tandoori chicken is nice and flavorful and tender. $17 for three drumsticks and two thighs might be a bit steep. Overall not an overwhelmingly good experience.

We also went with the momo (Nepali Dumplings. We went with the Kothey momos which you can choose from veg or chicken ($9) and they come with 5 served with a dipping sauce. These were another hit! Out of all the places nearby, Sangam stands out the most to me. This place is ALWAYS busy from open to close, every day of the week, and after eating here for years, it's easy to understand why. You can literally smell the fresh curries from the nearby HEB. The aroma alone makes you hungry. We've been coming since they first opened, and it's been great watching them continue to improve and expand the restaurant over time. The staff is attentive, friendly, and constantly checking in to help with orders or anything else you need. We've tried a huge variety of dishes over the years. Several curry's such as the Chettinad special curry, butter chicken, tikka masala, chicken 65, several biryanis, all consistently delicious. One of my personal favorites is the plain dosa and curry combo, which comes with four different chutneys that are all fantastic. Even my young son loves coming here because they have things like shrimp noodles and fried rice that are kid friendly while still tasting great. We used to mostly order to-go, but lately we've started dining in more often because the experience itself is so enjoyable. Service is quick, the atmosphere is comfortable, and I really appreciate the details. The artwork and photos on the walls, the music, and the lighting that isn't overly bright. They even dim it more in the evenings, which makes it feel even more relaxed and welcoming. Every visit has been a great experience for our family. Easily one of our favorite restaurants in the area.

Before going, we browsed the online menu, and what immediately caught my attention was the focus on the west coast of India, especially Goa, Mangalore, and Kerala. It was refreshing to see something beyond the usual North Indian or standard South Indian fare that most restaurants tend to offer. We were tempted to order widely, but in the end we chose two starters and one entrée. The mushroom and paneer starters were both excellent, yet very different from each other. The paneer was smooth and rich, almost comforting in its finish, while the mushroom dish had a gentle tang that brightened every bite. The contrast worked beautifully. For the entrée, we chose the Bunt Kori Gassi, a Mangalorean chicken dish. The flavors were delicate and well balanced, with spices that enhanced rather than overwhelmed. We paired it with Malabar parottas and aappams, which were perfect for soaking up the gravy. Even the complimentary rice stood out. It was not the usual basmati, but a more local variety, a small detail that showed the thoughtfulness behind the meal. The sol kadhi, made with kokum, brought back memories of home. It had that familiar cooling tang that is hard to replicate. We finished with mango kulfi, which was subtle, not overly sweet, and a gentle way to end the meal. The chef came out to greet us personally, which made the experience even more meaningful. He explained that they use mostly organic ingredients and avoid artificial colors. We shared our appreciation for both the food and the service and left hoping they continue to maintain these standards. The menu is already being expanded, including a section for more traditional Indian restaurant offerings. We are looking forward to returning and exploring more of what they have to offer.
