We had a bad experience here No Ac inside the restaurant and it was 100+ Food was not made fresh, they just made us sit for 30 minutes to serve food from the buffet and it tasted bad with sweet and salty un propionate flavors, not how things should taste. Place is busy for take outs, they need more men for that. Might be good for South Indian food like biryanis but not at all for North Indian food. Food is not at all authentic. read more

This is a long overdue review. I have been there a few times ( for take out) and the food never fails to impress. They manage to be consistent in the taste and quality. My favorites are the boneless chicken biriyani, nawabi chicken curry and chicken mogalai. These curries are not creamy and taste very different from what you get at other restaurants. I can just eat the curries as is. I also order extra raita here. It's thick, not too salty, with fresh chopped onions, carrots and cucumber, with a hint of sweetness. I went here on Saturday to pick up my order, that my daughter called in. My daughter had accidentally placed the order at their Fremont location. When I came in, the owner was there and he told me not to worry about it and that they can make the order now. He also called his Fremont location to cancel the other order, as Nawabi and Mogalai are special order curries. So, I waited there sipping on the complimentary tea, while they made the order. It came out quickly, in about 20 minutes. When I came back, I noticed that the raita order was missing. I called them about this. The lady at the counter told me that she will bring it to my home. I said that it was okay, as its under $3 and I can pick up in the evening when I come to the area again. They, however, insisted and brought me the raita as promised soon. I had a good lunch. Trust me, I've been to plenty of places in search of the perfect authentic biryani near Dublin and almost gave up on finding it here- tried Biryani Bowl recently and OMG their biryani is exactly like it is back home in Hyderabad. Tried this place for the first time last week. It was soooooo gooooood. I got Mother's Day of the lunch specials. This review is mostly going to be about the Vegetatarian dishes and Soft Nan Roti's because it was my FAVE. It was the PERFECT amount of spice and not too overpowering. The Palak Paneer, Malai Khofta was nice and juicy. Not like some of the other places I've tried where the vegetables tastes overcooked and dry. The portions were very good as well. I actually got full just eating the soft Nan's and rice. My Son loved the perfect taste of their " Chines Rice and Noodles". The Sweet dish Gulab jambun was great too. It was with saffron and soft, just the way I like. I barely had room for the sweet mango lassi, which was great too. I also tried the Rice Pudding (Khir) which was pretty good. Will be adding this to my list go-tos for lunch. This is my 2nd time here with my wife. I always get the tandoori chicken and it's always been consistently good. A little bit in the spicy side but it's manageable, just to make sure you ask for a yogurt on the side. Tried the Malay kofta and by far the best one I've had so far. I had high hopes when my friends told this is new place and have good dishes. I ordered Chicken Dum Biryani and it is one of the worst biryanis that I ate so far. And chicken drumstick in biryani has just bone by itself for one of the pieces. Try to avoid it. We ordered Fish masala to go and it was pathetic: tasted like an attempt to convert the indo Chinese sauce base to something mughlai. The stars are for decent biryani (family pack although available on only as a to-go option, is the best bang for your buck) and Paneer Pasanda, which is, perhaps their best dish. We ordered paneer butter masala, egg dum biriyani, garlic naan and Jamoon on Friday evening. We have eaten in many places but this place is by far the worst paneer butter masala we have ever eaten. There was no flavor in it and it was sweet to say the least. To the extent that there was probably a lot of sugar added to it. The egg dum biriyani was mediocre. Having eaten biriyani in the South Bay for more than a decade almost every Friday, this biriyani was just ok and pretty dry. Portions are not great. Jamoon and garlic naan were decent. Overall, they definitely need to work on their main dishes including the biriyanis since they are called biriyani bistro. read more

Can I give this place a 0 just based off customer service? This has to be the worst experience that I have had at a restaurant, PERIOD! I specifically ordered Indian food from this place because of their HFSAA certification. But man what a disappointment. My family and I ordered 2 butter chickens, 4 chicken breast, 1 Haleem, and 6 garlic naans. I ordered the food at 6:39pm and the guy on the phone said the food will be ready at 7:10pm. I got there and they did not hand me the food until 7:30pm. We are all fasting and are on a time crunch. So we drive back to our home which is 30mins out. We open the food and all the bread that was given to us was burnt and the chicken they gave us were all chicken legs and not chicken breasts. BUT WAIT THERES MORE... this was not the worst of it. After we break our fast, I decide to call them back because they screwed up our order and gave us burnt food. As soon as I called and tried to explain what happened, the guy starts to argue and tell me I ordered legs and not breast. BUDDY, I think I know what the heck I ordered! Then he tries to say bring the food back so we can inspect it. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? I am now in my home 30 minutes away and he would like me to jump in my car and deliver the food back to him just so it can go in the trash. I don't think so. Anyways, he said take a picture of the bread and send it to me. I did! Then I received a call back from the owner. I would think I'd be able to resolve and get a partial refund right? WRONG!!! The owner had a worst attitude than his worker. He started to tell me I need to deliver the food back to him the next day so he can inspect it. Are you kidding me? Ordered chicken pepper fry, egg bajji and chicken 65 for appetizers. Chicken pepper fry is flavourful, egg bajji is really good and made to order. Chicken 65 is just alright. Had chicken boneless biryani and vijayawada egg biryani. Both tasted fine. Portion size is pretty decent too. All in all, the items tasted good and more importantly fresh. I ordered food from this restaurant for the first time ever. Then checked their yelp page. Then wow'ed at the sublime and superb taste of the Andhra Chicken Curry I was busy eating. Then checked their yelp page again & looked closer at the negative reviews. I am surprised and outraged at these negative reviews - I respect the opinion of these reviewers, but half of them seem obviously fake / by competitors and the other half seem to be from high maintenance folks. Proof: Their food is authentic as far as South Indian food goes. Its laughable to read some of these sham negative reviews where one of them is saying they ordered chicken biriyani and it unfortunately had rice and chicken in it so they gave a 1-star rating for that! Are you serious??? Did this reviewer even bother to google what chicken biriyani is to begin with? If people don't have a palate for authentic south indian food, they shouldn't write a review in the first place, much less negative. Long story short, I would strongly urge everyone to ignore the bogus negative ratings. As you all know (or don't know) I absolutely love bone chicken curries - thanks to the wonderful privilege I have had of living all over Southern India, I can vouch for any South Indian dish. With that said, I absolutely vouch for Biriyani Bowl's delicious food. Their chicken curry is scrumptiously mouthwatering and the best I have ever had in the United States so far. The meat is so flawlessly tender and moist. I only ordered chicken curry but they threw in a mango lassi and rice as well :) Not that I intended to count, but for the sake of statistics, their one chicken curry dish had nine pieces of chicken - every other restaurant adds just two pieces of chicken and calls it a day. When I placed my order over the phone, the owner was really nice. And when I checked here on yelp, his responses to negative reviews are nicer than his responses to 5-star reviews. That should tell you something - this owner has class & values his customers above everything else (read "money") and does not indulge in fake reviews at all. Folks should be thankful that this business owner is being so kind to them for their risible, high maintenance and undependable negative reviews, especially when the food is so immaculately and undisputedly tasty! Biriyani Bowl's food is quite good and has surpassed my expectations, it's also extremely well-made with generous portions. Plus, the owner and the entire staff are really nice. In for spicy briyani ?? Here you are ... A weird experience climaxed to a leaky-nose, water seeking tongue, enjoyable dinner. I ordered take out at about 9 PM (while the restaurant closes by 9:30 PM) and set out to pick up when I got the order confirmation immediately. When I reached the place I was sent out a order cancellation mail (@ 9:20 PM) which I'd failed to notice. I went inside to pick up my order and I was told it was cancelled and so on. I asked them if they have the various items now for which the manager checked and decided he will provide me the stuff. And during my wait I noticed various customers who were waiting for their orders which the staff were handling these order in a chaotic way. Understandably this was Friday night where the orders are going to be abundant, but I guess a new business (not entirely as they already have a parent branch in Fremont) should prepare themselves for such cases. Although this ordering experience is a lot to be desired, the Briyani was quite fantastic. Was not too impressed by the Paneer Butter Masala (PBM) or the Naans, but then again who goes to Biryani Bowl for PBM. That said, Biryani (Ulavacharu Veggie Dum Biryani) was the clear winner of the night. As I was trying this kind of Biryani for the first time, I thoroughly enjoyed it. I visited this location with my family. We ordered veg biryani, Dal makhani and Naan. This was certainly the best biryani I had in US. Right amount of spice and perfectly cooked. The manager at this location is a very soft spoken guy who really cares about customer experience. He asked us twice if we needed something. The portions were good size and naan's were extra fresh. This place offers really nice biryani. We got chicken and mutton biryani and it was quite yummy. There was flavor in each grain of rice and the chicken and mutton pieces were quite soft. The good thing here is the serve clean and good food. The restaurant vows not to put MSG in food. We also got a combination platter which came with shrimp, chicken and lamb kabab sizzler. It was so delicious that we decided to get some more of just shrimp tandoor. Even words are less to describe it. The staff is decent and the service is very good. Nice ambience too. I checked this place out because of the great reviews and because it's halal. Unfortunately it did not meet my expectations of Pakistani food. I tried the chicken biryani, the chicken tikka masala, tandoori plate, and my hubby tried the fish. I normally love biryani, but this biryani had white rice on top of this Asian style chewy chicken and sweet sauce, it was not good at all. The ctm was okay but it had a sweet flavor that is usually found in butter chicken. The tandoori kabob wasn't bad, it just lacked flavor. The fish portion was very small and overall the meal was expensive. I would recommend shalimar instead of this place. The employees and manager were very nice, though, hence the one star. read more

This place has delicious food! The chicken 65 and the fried rice are outstanding. I have previously given 5 stars (google review) however, the 3 stars here today are for my recent order. We ordered a few other dishes, one being the Bhindi fry. Almost all the bhindi was just ends of the vegetable we usually cut and toss... my vegetarian parents didn't even feel like eating it. Didn't realize this used to be another Indian restaurant that I have gotten take-out at before. I was hankering for some Chicken Tikka Masala and thought I would check this out. My online order went smoothly. My one dish (in addition to adding rice, naan, and tax) came out just below $13 which is okay. Pickup was uneventful and I noticed later that they had saran wrapped the container w my sauce to avoid it spilling over into the bag or car. Not bad! The food itself was pretty good. I liked the flavors and the chicken was tender. (at least the few pieces I had). The butter naan was excellent and I was given a good portion of it as well. The little box of rice was on the small side. (for 90 cents, you think we'd get a little more rice.) I was full at the end and had some leftover sauce. I did note that the sauce was a bit on the thin side as when i would pour it on my rice, i had to use additional sauce in order to completely flavor the rice rather than just the top layer. I will likely come back again the next time I have a craving for some Indian food. read more

After ordering, we were starved before our class so we ate a little at the "restaurant" (it's mainly take out). The man was very nice to offer my wife and I a plate and utensils. We were "wowed"!
