Picked up samosas and rotis from here. Looks like a nice family-owned spot that serves up yummy food. The samosas were really good. Fresh, not overwhelmingly spicy like most spots and they were a hit with the group and went fast. The rotis were fresh and tasty as well.

4/8/2022: Upon the countless road trips visiting my Mother who resided in SF Bay Area, this is one place on my bucket list I knew I must visit! En route to Placerville, I stopped by knowing I needed purchasing rice; I decided buying the rice at Enker's. Outside Enker's, on display were so many fruit tree varieties for sale never seen at any Placerville/Tri-Counties' nurseries: Furthermore, I was visually stunned and deeply impressed by seeing first-hand exotic, fruit trees I haven't seen anywhere in USA except, the countries I've visited in the past! I will return purchasing bare-root fruit trees this coming fall 2022.

My family loves plants so we decided to drop by this place after seeing ads for the plants they sell here. The store sells Indian groceries, exotic fruits, exotic plants, and Indian food. We got a couple of sapodilla to take home and eat as well as some Indian dishes. The dishes were all very good but my favorite was the samosa. I love Indian samosa and this place made it very good! The owner of the store was very friendly and helpful. He made sure that we picked good fruit and also recommended us what dishes to order.

I am vegetarian and have eaten at many vegetarian restaurants over the years. I would confidently say that Blossom and Root is the best vegetarian restaurant in the Bay Area and it may be my favorite restaurant hands down. Food: Key to a great restaurant is consistency. The food and dishes are consistently great at Blossom and Root over many visits. I have tried the Smash burger, yellow curry, Mediterranean bowl, french toast, pancakes, chilaquiles, breakfast burrito and several other dishes. Yellow curry is my hands down favorite but honestly no dish has ever disappointed. Every dish is always very freshly prepared. You can tell. They have a kids menu as well. Kids will also love the "experience" of the Butterfly bubbles drink! Just try it! Ambiance: Cute restaurant with a modern craftsmen kitchen feel. It feels like you are eating at the home of a friend with a nice house. Casual vibe that is kid friendly. Service: Servers and staff are always very friendly and helpful. Sometimes it can get slow for attention when they get busy.

It was about 1/4 cup quinoa and millet and more tangerine oranges than grains. Look at the difference of portion sizes from our experience vs Yelp photos. I felt this was inadequate and asked for more grains. I got a 1/2 cup of extra quinoa (only). Tofu scramble and pancakes (adult and kid versions) were good. The server tried to insinuate that the adult pancakes weren't enough, but they were more than enough. We also ordered one orange juice for a child (paper cup with a copper straw jammed through the opening) and hot tea. Honest review, it was overpriced and moderately good. I would not return; quality and value for 3 adults and 1 child was not worth $100+ including tip. Hope they consider my feedback to improve; this place has great potential.

This Bengali New Year feast was an absolute labor of love -- an incredibly generous spread of traditional dishes that felt like a home-cooked meal. Every single item was on point: the pui shaak with chingri was perfectly spiced, the narkel lau was delicate and comforting, the rui maach in mustard was bold and authentic, the kosha mangsho had that deep, slow-cooked richness, and the chicken daak bungalow was fall-off-the-bone perfection. And the misti doi and mishti paan...a dream ending. If you are Bengali and craving a taste of home, or simply someone who loves real, soul-satisfying Indian food, this is your place. In my opinion, Rooster & Rice does it better, especially when it comes to the flavor of the rice, the broth, and the sauces. This location is the smallest one I've been to with only a few tables, so it definitely feels more like a takeout spot than a dine in place. That said, the service was great. The lady working there was super nice and even gave me some complimentary hot sauce to try. Their habanero hot sauce is seriously fire. I'm also a big fan of their Thai sriracha. They have kind of weird hours - closed for two days and they are closed early. The chicken was pretty dry, even with the ginger scallion sauce - the sauce had weird lingering taste to it that did not taste like the typical ones at other restaurants. The rice and broth were alright - not the best, but not the worst either. I remember having them at Westfield Valley Fair and they were a lot better than this location.
