Biryani Hub Delivers a Flavorful Introduction to Authentic Indian Cuisine I finally made my way to Biryani Hub for lunch, conveniently located at 5745 Virginia Beach Boulevard, tucked just behind the Waffle House. For weekday diners, the restaurant offers a smart selection of combination platters--an ideal entry point for anyone looking to explore a range of traditional Indian dishes in a single sitting. I chose the Chicken Platter ($15), which features three distinct preparations, two generously sized pieces of naan, and a dessert to round out the meal. It's a well-structured offering that balances variety with portion size. The standout was the Chicken Dum (bone-in), prepared in the traditional dum style--slow-cooked and sealed to lock in flavor. The result is deeply aromatic, rich, and layered in a way that feels unmistakably royal. This is not rushed food; it's deliberate, composed, and worthy of the word "luxury." Equally impressive was the Special Chicken (boneless)--tender pieces marinated in a proprietary blend of spices, then cooked with fragrant basmati rice in layered fashion. Each bite carried trapped aromas that unfolded gradually, delivering both depth and balance without overwhelming the palate. One detail worth noting: the clearly defined spice scale (1-7). I selected level 4, labeled "Indian Mild." While approachable, it still carried a noticeable heat--enough to remind you that you're experiencing authentic seasoning rather than a toned-down version. Too often, restaurants rely on heat for its own sake--spice without structure. That's not the case here. At Biryani Hub, the heat is deliberate, built into layered flavor profiles that are difficult to fully describe and far better experienced firsthand. What stood out most was the depth of flavor across the board. Each dish brought its own identity, with spices working in harmony rather than competing for attention. For those already familiar with Indian cuisine--or anyone curious to step into it--Biryani Hub is a worthwhile stop. It's the kind of place that rewards exploration while supporting a local business doing things the right way.

I'm not much of an Indian food expert so I will just say what I like: the gobi Manchurian. It was my favorite dish and I will definitely get it again. Service was slow but it looked like there is only two people waiting tables, answering phones, and taking care of take out orders. When they brought us the take out containers, I had to specifically ask for the sauce containers as well.

Biryani Hub was a 5/5 experience with authentic flavors. The egg biryani was excellent and our top recommendation over the malai kofta. We appreciated that peanut curry and raita were included, and our server, Harish, was friendly and accommodating. The spice level is authentic, so expect some heat. Bring cash for a 10% discount.

Food is good but service has gone down, tried to charge me an additional 80$ with random stuff added to my bill that I never added. Would have charged me if I said nothing.

Came here for dinner a little after 6pm. The food was good however we were disappointed with the service and especially our server. We ordered appetizers and then we wanted to wait to order dinner. The waiter was taken aback and said usually our people eat dinner later, because we are Indian he was making a bit of a racist remark and an assumption. It was inappropriate and rude. Then he basically forced us to order dinner right then and there. Then when we had barely touched the appetizers all of the food came out. When this happened we told the waiter we didn't want all of the food right away and that we were disappointed. He just looked at us and smirked. It's not even like the restaurant was very busy, there were plenty of open tables as you can see in my photos. When we left all of the waiters were standing in the front talking. I think they just didn't want us to stay for that long I don't know. Even though the food was good I'd rather go somewhere else where we aren't treated so badly. Based on glancing at other reviews the waiters are just rude so I guess it's nothing abnormal here

Great service and great food! First off, definitely do not judge this restaurant by its cover! The outside and location of this place was a little sketchy but once you step in, it's completely different! Service was simple and easy, food came out fresh and hot! By hot, I mean real spice! Definitely watch their spice levels, we ordered the "American Medium" and we were sweating!

Perfect for takeout to eat in a hotel because they offered takeout plates! Very good Chettinad Lamb Curry and Chicken Masala

In Norfolk for a work trip and had to find somewhere to eat at 9pm on a Sunday night. Thankfully this place was open so decided to give it a try. Chicken Tikka masala curry was nice and creamy with lots of meat. Worker convinced me try the Chettinad curry with lamb. It was really tasty! A darker curry like Rogan Josh curry but with more herbs and flavor. Lots of meat as well. The best part is that they can make it actually very spicy! A lot of Indian restaurants don't make it spicy enough. Got me sweating! (They can also make it non spicy of course). I travel frequently for work and this is the first time a worker asked me if I wanted paper plates (Styrofoam) to go which was super considerate and convenient for me since I was eating in a hotel. They're like half bowl/plates so it keeps the curry in. My only complaint is that the garlic Naan didn't have enough garlic taste to it, and the Naan was a little thicker than I like. But not a bid deal. Oh, and you also get 15% off if you use cash!

Wish I could give more stars since the service was great - we were greeted as soon as we entered, we indicated we wanted to sit in the back area and they accommodated us wanting a booth so we can seat comfortably on their cushioned bench and have elbow room to spread out. Tap Water bottle was already filled with 4 wine glasses on the table. They removed the extra place settings. The white plates slightly dusty seemingly due to being set on the table for some time and stainless steel spoon and fork wrapped in paper napkin secured by paper stickies were available. The onion pakora was slightly over-fried, dark brown with burnt edges. The mint chutney dip and tamarind dip were of good consistency, not watered down. The chicken tikka masala came with 5 bite sized chunks of (where's the) chicken? The broth was enough for dipping with naan. Speaking of naan, we ordered 2 portions, both of which were undercooked on the side where the garlic butter is smeared. Dal Makhani was okay, nothing memorable. The rice was dry and didn't taste fresh. The parking lot isn't well lit, maybe would get better turnout if it doesn't seem closed all the time.

We got the Chicken Biryani and the Chicken Curry and garlic naan. We asked for it to be VERY mild. The flavor was all very good but I would not call it mild lol that's probably my only complaint - it was a little too spicy for me. I have been to other Indian places that offer American mild, medium, hot AND indian mild, medium, hot. I think they realize that they are able to tolerate a lot more spice! I would say my meal was probably "Indian" mild. I realize spice is subjective, and I am a wimp! They offer a variety of different drinks in their cooler and they have a filtered water station. They do not offer ice at all. Our food came out very fast but was still PIPING hot and fresh! The customer service was excellent. The gentlemen at the counter was extremely nice! During our meal one of the women from the kitchen came out to use the restroom but stopped to ask us how our meal was and to let them know if we needed anything. Very sweet people! I would absolutely recommend this place for a flavor, service, and If you like spicy!

The Lamb Biryani was equally shining. Tender, complex seasonings and unique. But the Samosa Chaat was like a whole episode of flavor. So many different things going on. Lassi is real, not yogurt and puree. Garlic Naan was aromatic without being pungent, and had a sweet sea salt finish I still can't explain. Even the Raita yogurt sauce was way better than anything I can remember. Price is reasonable, especially given how much you get and will inevitably need to package up. Punjabi Bread Basket was great, especially with the sauce that was included. Rice was good, not crunchy. The gulab jamun was amazing. Vegetables were tasty. I really liked the Cucumber Gimlet Mocktail I had, very good stuff. Portion sizes were HUGE! Plenty of food! Spice level was left at 1, and still had plenty of heat! Only complaint, were the prices.
