First visit here and everything was delish! The fish was fresh and flaky. I had Indian medium for my spice level which is perfect if you want it just spicy enough for your nose to run. I wasn't a fan of Biryani until I ate at Biryani Hub a few years ago. The Biryani is aromatic and the meat is perfectly seasoned. The food here is consistent and tasty everytime! This place also has my favorite Indian dessert (Carrot Halwa) which I can't find at many Indian restaurants. They offer six spice levels for the food which range from American Mild to Indian Spicy. So choose your spice level carefully. My one complaint is the saag paneer is a soupy/ pureed consistency and I'm used to saag paneer having larger pieces of leafy greens. This was my first time dining in as I usually opt for take out. When we arrived we were provided with menus, instructed to seat ourselves and to come back to the front when we were ready to order. They do offer a 15% discount if you pay in cash which is nice. If you're looking for a great dine experience this is not the place but if you're looking for great food this is the place for you! read more

I ordered takeout through doordash. First of all, my food got to me pretty fast which was amazing because I was starving lol. So I ordered the chicken butter masala with butter naan. It was sooooo delicious! I asked for the American medium level spice, but it was just a tad too spicy for me haha other than that it was delicious! The naan was flavorful and soft. I cannot wait to try their other dishes! :) only reason I'm making it 4 stars rather than 5 is because I wish it did have more chicken chunks as mine only had about 4-5 small pieces and the rest was all sauce. Biryani Hub fulfills an 8 year dream I've had. 8 years living in Virginia Beach... waiting, wishing, and dreaming of an Indian restaurant like this. Don't get me wrong, there is amazing Indian around, but Biryani Hub is at the top. The flavor is impossibly good, and the prices are great. They fit perfectly between everything else we already have - buffets and expensive entree spots. My family (wife, 1 toddler, 1 baby) have been 6 times since discovery last month, and have yet to be disappointed. We are always welcomed, even though they know half of the rice is going to end up on the floor, and both of my kids love it. We have barely gotten into the menu yet, but can confirm the Gobi Manchurian, Butter Chicken, Chicken Biryani, Goat Tikka Masala, Keema Samosa, Mango Lassi, and all of the naan varieties are absolutely top notch. And on that note - the menu is extremely approachable. They have sprinkled a bit of humor in with relevant dish information, to make the selection process very enjoyable. The guy waiting on us was rude. He showed up at the table, saw us still looking at the menu and said " you guys aren't ready! I'll come back when u guys are ready" and took of without asking anything. Didn't ask if we wanted any drinks, looked sorta pissed that he had to be there. Later I saw him do the same to a table next to us. Not sure if he was having a bad day, but he looked super unhappy. The food was okay. We got Dosas that we had ordered last time we were here. I also like the fact that you can order American or Indian heat levels as most in my family do not eat food as spicy as I do. I haven't found a good Indian food place in this area since relocating in August. This place was pretty okay. The inside of the restaurant is very pleasant, clean and recently remodeled. The staff was super polite. My issue was with the food unfortunately. The butter chicken and chicken tikka masala had potential to be extremely tasty. BUT. I ordered American Spicy and it was just kinda meh. No spice. I also ordered saag paneer only with that one I got the mild Indian spice, which on the scale should be hotter than American spicy.... it was so bland. No salt. No spice. Just a green soup with cheese chunks which saddens me bc that happens to be one of my most favorite dishes. The portions of these courses were great but they didn't give us enough rice for all three main courses. We were on a vacation in Virginia Beach and happened to check this place. They have very tasty Indian food. Right now, they pack the food even for dine in(maybe short of staff) and have a little wait time but totally worth the wait. We wanted dosa quicker for the kid and they made sure they could get it for us. Very good customer service and tables are far apart for social distancing too. Biryani Hub is a new South Indian restaurant that opened on March 28th in a former Taco Bell located just outside of Military Circle Shopping Mall facing Virginia Beach Boulevard. Judging from the high volume of customers I have seen during four visits to date, it has opened with a bang. All of their serving staff and the vast majority of the customers I have seen so far have been of Indian descent, testifying to the authenticity of their food. Their servers have been exceptionally friendly and gracious. According to a recent article in the Virginian-Pilot, it was opened by a family who owns a couple of restaurants in Pennsylvania under the name of Biryani City. I traced these restaurants to locations in Allentown and Norristown. When I studied their online menus, the wordings of many of their menu descriptions were identical to those of the new Norfolk location. Their cuisine is cooked in the regional Hyderbadi style. Known as the "Pearl City of India", Hyderbad is the capital of Andrha Pradesh, located in south India, and is historically known as a pearl and diamond trading center. A one page lunch menu is offered during the weekdays and consists of a variety of six-course meals with both a vegetarian and a non-vegetarian section. They are served on an Indian style metal tray called a Thali. During two weekday lunch visits, I ordered a meal from the non-vegetarian section, which consists of a starter dish, two gravy dishes, your choice of Chicken, Goat, Fish, or Shrimp Biryani, slices of Naan bread, and a dessert. I chose the Chicken Biryani both times, priced at only $10. The chicken can be ordered boneless or bone-in, and I chose the boneless. The side dishes for their lunch meals change daily The Chicken Biryani was incredibly delicious. One standout side dish was their Manchurian Chicken starter dish, which consists of chicken cooked in a delicious sauce made with ginger, garlic, chili sauce and vinegar. I also loved their Garlic and Mint Naan. The trays were served with incredible proportions. I was unable to finish both times and took the rest home for a second meal. My Rating: 5 Stars. Their servers always ask you for your preferred spice level, and I have requested "Indian hot" each time. They do not wimp out on the heat. I have also made two weekend lunch visits, during which you choose from their richly descriptive 6-page dinner menu. I have tried the following so far: CHICKEN BIRYANI: Their Biryani is their signature Hyderabadi style dish, and I couldn't resist trying it again in their dinner version. It is described on their menu as "Made with the best basmati rice and a perfect blend of spices. Cooked in the original dum style..." Dum style? I had to look that up. The word "Dum" translates as "air cooked" or "internal pressure." The Biryani is cooked in an Indian version of a pressure cooker known as a Handi, which helps the Biryani retain its flavors by trapping the steam. Their Chicken Biryani is without a doubt the best I've ever tasted. The combination of spices exhibited a flavor profile of incredible depth.The basmati rice was fluffy and flavorful. It was loaded with precious nuggets of their Indian hot chicken. Their dinner version was also garnished with a hard boiled egg. Once again, I couldn't finish and took the rest home. My Rating: 5 Stars. CHICKEN 65: This is a traditional Indian dish that was listed among their Appetizers. It consists of spicy and boneless deep fried chicken chunks garnished with onions and cilantro. The chicken chunks exhibit a fiery red tone from its hot chilies. There are numerous rumors as to how this dish got its name. One account claims that it is made with 65 different varieties of chili peppers. Another claims that the dish can only be made from 65-day old chickens. Whatever its origin, its flavors hit me like a Mack truck with a heat level that my made my hot tooth sing with ecstasy. My Rating: 5 Stars. QUBANI-KA-MEETA: This is an Indian dessert that originated from the city of Hyderabad and is made from dried apricots. Their menu describes it as "Apricots boiled with syrup and chilled to consistency." It came topped with a few chunks of cashews. The version served here was a bit of a miss for me, as it wasn't served chilled as described. Instead, it was served hot temperature wise. Since I was one of their first customers that day, I may have caught them off guard without enough time to chill it. This also might explain why two of their servers came by and asked me if I wanted some vanilla ice cream to go with it. It was still flavorful, and the taste of the boiled apricots came through nicely. Yet, I am certain that I would have enjoyed it more served chilled as described. My Rating: 3.5 Stars. In spite of one glitch, my rating still rounds up to 5-stars. I look forward to my future visits, and I want to try their Goat Biryani next. When it comes to Indian food, this place is definitely the real deal. read more

I had to-go from here, then was finally able to visit this place, since some of the fervor has died down. I went for lunch with some co-workers, including one who is native to Indian food. We arrived and were sat quickly. There was room temp water corked on the table, poured it ourselves into the glasses. There are only 2 things on lunch menu: meat plate or veg plate. The plates are a selection of dishes which include biryani, 2 "curries," a fried "appetizer," naan, and dessert. You can choose your protein: chicken, goat, or shrimp. Also you can choose spice level. They have a spice level below mild called American mild (lol). Both plates come out on a sectioned tray, like cafeteria food. Evidently the dishes rotate, but you only have lunch choice of meat or veg plate. I wanted to get meat plate with veg biryani, but you aren't allowed to do that. I didn't like my naan, it was too heavy on the garlic. You can see the big pieces on the bread in the pic. The fried meat was good, but I put the pieces in the curry sauce. There were some onions in it too, but they tasted burnt and were yucky. The dessert was a bread pudding I didn't care for. The 2 curries were both pretty good, but each had only 2 pieces of meat in them. It was much better once I pushed some of the biryani into the sauce. The biryani was good, but a little plain. My friend got veg and it looked really good, that's why I wanted it! There was a chicken leg under the rice pile, which I gave to my friend. It was too much food once I got to it. Total was 2 good, 2 ok, and 2 yuck. The person who got veg was happiest, I will try this next time. My indian friend didn't finish her food, she said there wasn't enough complexity to the spices in the curries. This place is worth a try for a decently priced platter of food, sometimes a surprise is good. Esp if you like Indian food in general. But, if you want more authentic try nearby Nawab, you can get dinner entrees at lunch, if you don't want buffet. Dishes made one at a time are always going to be better than mass prepped food. read more

The service is a tad bit too slow for me to dine in for lunch, but I have learned to call in my order 15 minutes before pick up and it's always ready and hot. I always get the lunch platter. But wouldn't it be easier to say, mild, medium, or hot? I always order the "Indian Spicy" and I love it.
