We came in around a bit over an hour or so before closing. We were seated immediately and our food came out decently quickly. Service was welcoming and very polite. Interior is very high end and fancier looking. This would be a great place for a date and does not have the crazy pressure of somewhere that would destroy your wallet or with too much etiquette needed. Utensils, cups, and everything look very nice too. Adds to the atmosphere. They have a physical menu but you scan the QR code to order. For our dinner, we got the: 1) Uyghur Special Milk Tea: -A must every time I go to an Uyghur restaurant. -I love the kick of saltiness to this milk tea. Very rich with the butter and cream added in too. It's comes out hot, so make sure to sip slowly and enjoy. 2) Laghman Noodles: -Anytime I eat Uyghur cuisine, I either always get the laghman noodles or the pilaf and this time we chose the noodles (next time we'll get the pilaf). We got this spicy and it comes with cabbage, potatoes, green onion and pepper and black fungi. Generous amount of veggies. -Not super spicy, but has a good kick. Deliciously tomato-y brothy soup sauce on the noodles that went deliciously well with the chewy textured noodles. I'd get this again. Good stuff. 3) Wellington Style Roasted Lamb: -Not many of the restaurants I go to have regular beef wellington. So seeing a lamb one, I KNEW we were going to order it. Super unique and I've never seen this offered at any restaurant yet. -Comes out super piping steamy hot on the inside. Lamb slides off the bone and is super moist and tender. Seasoned well, but goes well with the cumin spice powder and the sauces (yogurt based tangy sauce and the chili oil sauce). -I like that it look like a cute trilobite since the shank bone is still left in it. The pastry around has a nice crispiness to it and isn't too dry either. Definitely a lot of food for 2 people and we had leftovers, so it's definitely perfect for groups and sharing food. It's a pretty decent location with reasonable prices and pretty authentic dishes. The choices are a bit limited but are pretty good. Langmian is well flavored. The samsa are very full in fillings and well baked. Skewers are also pretty good. The soup is a bit less flavorful but still ok. Service is pretty good, and pretty quick once seated. I came here with a friend for dinner and we had a good time! Inside is extremely spacious with lots of seating. We ordered on the kiosk, and the food came out soon after. Service was good, and they checked on us periodically. The samsa was decent. The puff pastry is a bit dry but it still is a good bite. The laghman is also good and I love the texture of the noodles. I am personally a fan of tangier/tomato-y based sauces, so this was up my alley. It is a little oily however. I loved the rice pilaf more, the addition of raisins and carrots adds such a nice sweetness to the lamb shank. I really enjoyed this dish in particular. Overall, we had a great time! read more

Everything was incredibly moist and flavorful. The big plate had a nice kick--spicy enough to be interesting, but not so much that it made me tear up. I got the beef noodles soup and the broth was very watery, there was not much flavor to it and it didn't taste like anything special to me even though it was on the pricier side. I asked them to remake it and it was slightly better, but I was still not satisfied and ended up eating only a little of it and taking the rest home. I was excited to try this place, especially having great experience with Uyghur food previously. Was over in San Jose years ago and had Kusan Uyghur cuisine and i think there was a ghost kitchen version in SF during the pandemic. Had good experiences from those two spots, food was delicious and great portions to share. There are similarities between Uyghur and Middle Eastern cuisines, such as pita, pilaf, meats like lamb and chicken. Main difference is that i find uyghur food with more cumin seasoning, similar to the tastes of those northern chinese skewers places. However I didnt find much of the foods here flavored. I find myself eating for the sake of not wasting the ingredients. We had people in the group who can't do spicy, so had to order dishes that were non spiced. Holy hell, non spiced was equivalent to non seasoned. If your kidney had issues, you can eat here though. I should've known something was odd when the plaza is packed on a weekend but this place had no wait, maybe with 2-3 other tables occupied. I thought people were just scared to try the cuisine. Im beginning to think otherwise. Despite the food being subpar, the service was super attentive, felt more like a legit sit down, thats refreshing considered being at Milpitas Square. read more

The big plate chicken was REALLY good and the regular (smaller) portion was extremely filling. Great portions of both the chicken and the noodles, so I don't think you need the extra noodles. But I had this dish on my own, maybe if you're ordering it to share you could add the extra noodles. The chicken is really well cooked! It does take some time to come out (we had to wait around 20 minutes). We had also ordered the chicken skewer to share and it was nicely spiced (cumin based spice, as you see in Chinese bbq generally). One thing I'd say is that the dishes were quite oily, including the sliced beef with sauce as you see in the pictures. The big plate chicken also had a lot of oil in the soup. The Bad - Chicken wraps - were served room temp. The chicken tasted like they were days old. They had a tough texture and wasn't warm. The naan was also room temp. The beef noodle soup - was served at best warm. There was no steam coming from it when it arrived at the table. The radishes weren't cooked fully even though they are so thin. The portion is big because there was a bunch of noodles. The soup didn't have much flavor even the hot chili oil didn't help. Uyghur Special Milk Tea - is supposed to have a strong black tea flavor, but it ended up tasting only of cream and butter. It gave us a stomach ache. This was my first time having Uyghur food and I was pleasantly surprised! I am a big fan of cumin so this was right up my alley. The Lamb Kebab was really delicious. The meat was tender and flavorful. There was a very good cumin flavor that was not overpowering; though I personally would not mind more cumin seasoning. I would 100% order this again. I do wish the portion was slightly bigger. The Beef Cumin Chao-Mian was very interesting. The hand pulled noodles had a really pleasant chewy texture. The bite of the noodles was my favorite part of the dish. The seasoning for this dish was unique. It was fragrant but not overwhelming. I think that the sauce was a tomato base mixed with cumin. It was not that spicy. I personally prefer my noodles with bolder flavors and spice, but I did still thoroughly enjoy this dish. Also, the staff was very kind. I decided to try out Uyghur cuisine for lunch with my parents to celebrate my belated birthday, and it was all over my Instagram. This is their second location in the South Bay. There weren't a lot of people on a weekday when we walked in, and only one waiter was serving. Ordering was simple through their QR code. While waiting, there was a toddler running around the serving area and playing bongos on the cushioned seats near the booth where I was sitting. She was almost close to me while I eyed her mother across the table with a party of 7-8 people, since I was expecting she say something but didn't. We ordered a lot of dishes from appetizers to entrees: Uyghur Salad- flavorful with sesame oil and vinegar dressing Samsa- lamb filling with onions inside handmade pies; kinda small though Laghman (Veggie)- love the thick, long, and chewy noodles with lots of vegetables in juicy tomato sauce. I prefer to order the original lamb next time. Beef Cumin Chao-min- flavorful beef with laghman. We liked this dish a lot Golden Crispy Lamb Ribs- 3 sauces/spices (chili oil, cumin spice, and yogurt sauce) options offered to dip the lamb ribs to get rid of the gamey smell and taste. It was really expensive for half a dozen lamb ribs. The waiter was kind to replace my used napkin with a handful of napkins during our meal. Also, props to him for defending himself from a tempered man across the table calmly and professionally by telling him, "Please don't yell at me, I am here to solve your problem." That man was mad, yelling in front of the kids that he didn't receive an order he had added for half an hour, and he was sitting with the same family who let their child play bongos near my seat. The waiter apologized to us for the disruption, but it should be the man who is accountable for his behavior. Overall, the food was delicious with healthy options, even though we spent over $100 with tax and tips for a portion fit for two people. Our food came out fast without the need to be a Karen. I don't believe there are that many restaurants in this area yet serving Central Asian cuisine, and this also looked so enticing in the advertisements online. I'm really glad that I got introduced to this cuisine and liked the dumplings. However, I was a bit let down in some parts of my experience. Upon entering the restaurant, I saw the door said PULL, but I noticed the door was a little pushed in. I pulled the door open for my friend who entered, and I followed after her and waited right inside as the directions said to wait in the waiting area to be seated. However, right as I stood inside the waiting area after entering, the door swung back inward and hit my backpack, which protected me. I think there is something wrong with the door or it is a hazard in the waiting area. If I had not worn my backpack, the door would have hit my back. We came to eat in the early evening. We didn't have to wait long to be seated, and the employees gave us helpful directions for ordering with the QR code and also provided physical menus. The food came out after a moderate wait, which was understandable considering that lots of items seem to take patience for crafting, like their noodles. I ordered the tomato soup with wontons, and I shared another main dish of dumplings with my friend. The tomato soup was decent although a little bland for my taste. The dumplings were delectable and my friend and I liked the strong onion taste. The plating was pretty and the servers were nice and also provided us plum juice samples. The portions were just a bit small for me, as I was still hungry after eating my own meal and sharing another one with my friend. The ambience of this restaurant was pleasant. The restaurant got busy later, so there was a wait for payment and attention from servers. It must be popping off on social media. I would not recommend Kusan Bazaar for lunch. The food was mediocre and the restaurant felt more like a cafeteria style eating experience. I was promptly directed to a table to sit down and then the waiter walked away. I waited about five minutes for a menu until I saw a small stand with a QR code with a small message next to it stating that all orders are to be placed online. I took my phone out, scanned the QR code to find a very small menu. I wished the server noted this when we sat down. He just left after seating us. There were a small selection of appetizers, entrees, and desserts offered. The restaurant notes it is an asian fusion but there was very little asian food offered. It was more middle-eastern-centric food with a slight asian twist. For example, there was a mango sticky rice dessert which was sticky rice covered in plain yogurt with four mango chunks on top. It was not sweet and tasted like sour yogurt instead of the sweet flavor you get from the traditional coconut milk version. I tried a variety of lamb, beef, and chicken dishes. None of them were great. Each did not taste horrible but I left hungry after spending $90+ for a lunch for two people. Saw the Laghman noodles were pretty popular, and from photos as well as its description.. I felt that was a good choice.. I was ready to start ordering on my mobile, but a wonderful and friendly waitress came up and asked if I needed help and if I was ready to order. Ended up getting the Laghman as well as one of their yogurt drinks as well. Food was, needless to say, absolutely amazing. The texture of the fresh, hand-pulled noodles is something on a different level. The aromas and flavors of the laghman was something that was much needed.
