I like biscuits. I'm in the South. How could I pass up a place called Biscuit Head? My wife was skeptical. I was right. First thing you notice is that a lot of folks like this place. The line was out the door and we had to wait for seats. As we worked our way toward the counter we had time to figure out our choices. Order at the counter and they bring the food to your table. The layout is basic, simple tables and chairs, but you're here for those biscuits. Fluffy tall biscuits covered with sausage gravy and fried or scrambled eggs are a common choice. Or some version of a biscuit sandwich. Maybe add some fried chicken. This is the good stuff. They have tons of sauces to choose from too. There's a lot of variety making this a good breakfast or brunch spot.
Giant delicious biscuits! Pictures don't do justice to how large their biscuits are, we tried the filthy animal and the country ham. Both were very good, they also have a jam bar which is very unique. Would recommend!
I can't stop thinking about this glorious place! They have a fantastic menu, ranging from familiar favorites to inventive creations. Loved the spacious indoor seating; lots of long tables for larger parties. But the best part by far is the homemade jam bar!
Outstanding breakfast! You can't go wrong with a cathead biscuit. We enjoyed a savory and sweet breakfast and loved it! Amazing service and vibes!

Some of the best biscuits and fried chicken I've had in my life (and don't tell my mother in law who makes some pretty great biscuits and chicken). Great staff, artsy ambiance, and quirky neighborhood all make this worth the effort and cost. Bonus: fried green tomatoes were a definite hit. Breading was perfect and didn't fall off the tomatoes like most breading does. They have a Jam Bar so you can choose a variety of jellies and butter to put on them as well as house made hot sauce to dress everything. The only problem with this place- it's too far from my home in TX. :)

Despite the wait, we decided to indulge in breakfast, and the experience was well worth it. My wife opted for two eggs and sides, while i chose two eggs with fried bologna and pulled pork, both of which met expectations admirably. The standout feature was their in-house jam and spreads: a distinctly sour cherry and a perfectly balanced strawberry variety, neither overly sweet but perfectly suited to complement the biscuits. For anyone in the Asheville, Carolina vicinity, Biscuit Head is an essential stop. With four locations in this area and potentially extending to Greenville, it's a must-visit for those seeking exceptional breakfast fare. Service and ambiance worked out as the line was not very long. I got GF biscuits smothered in sweet potato coconut gravy, the only GF and vegan gravy available. The gravy came out very warm, and the flavor was complex, but it was almost kind of sweet. Regardless, pretty grateful that there was a suitable biscuits and gravy option.
Best place to eat breakfast in Asheville if you like biscuits, jams, and hearty breakfast meals. This is our favorite place. We only eat breakfast here every year for our annual trip to Asheville. Everything on the menu is delicious. The coffee bar is extensive and they always have special drinks. Try the bacon of the day! Take full advantage of the jam bar. The service is always friendly and is much faster than the lines make it look. 100/10 recommend
(4.25 stars) Biscuit Head has acquired a lofty reputation since it opened its doors more than a decade ago, and it was only a matter of time before we ended up here to see if it lived up to the hype. One drawback to said reputation: it gets busy, and it gets loud. Best try to catch them during an off-peak hour and hope that you can snag an open table. That caveat aside, the menu is great. You can keep it simple with a biscuit and your choice of topping, roll the dice with a biscuit sandwich, or step up and take on a gut-busting breakfast platter. There are also sweet dishes and a bar full of complimentary jams. My wife and I went with the biscuit of the day (Korean fried chicken), a biscuit with mushroom gravy, fried green tomatoes, and a side of bacon. The biscuits were good, but if you get them in a sandwich, don't expect the sandwich to hold together. No matter: forks exist for a reason. The Korean fried chicken included both Korean BBQ sauce and pimento cheese, an interesting fusion of Asian and Southern that somehow worked. The accompanying tots were crispy and addictive, and the mushroom gravy was creamy and rich. The fried green tomatoes were respectable but would have been better topped with pimento. Ultimately, Biscuit Head did not disappoint. The biscuits weren't the best I've ever had, but the food here was still satisfying.

What truly impressed me was their wide variety of house made jams! They have jam stations where customers can mix and match, trying different flavors on their biscuits. I highly recommend the raspberry, peach rosemary, and mango chili jams; but they're all fantastic! I loved them so much that I bought a few bottles to take home. The restaurant itself is spacious, with seating options for large groups or just a party of two. There's also a charming outdoor patio with picnic-style tables, perfect for a cool spring morning.
Great southern vibes for a classic breakfast/lunch. I had the biscuits with pork sausage gravy and was left very full - good serving size for the price. I'd definitely recommend, the interior is large and accommodating for groups! Staff was friendly and got food out quickly. Check out the jam bar for sure; be sure to only take what you plan to eat though!

Fantastic little spot. We are on our honeymoon and wanted a spot to grab some breakfast. Delicious! The vibes were great, the customer service is fantastic, and the food hit the spot. I had the pulled pork. The pulled pork was well seasoned and tender and the biscuit was delicious. The filthy animal had a really good pimento cheese, would be just as delicious even if it didn't have the chicken (we definitely started digging in before having a photo). The s'more's latte was good, but the Nutella was definitely better. Would come Back for the biscuit. read more

Food: the food came out quick. It looks nice. The biscuit tastes fresh but it wasn't hot. For the filthy animal, the only thing that came out hot was the fried chicken and the rest was kinda warm or room temp. The same with the classic sandwich Services: I walked in and tried to stay to the side to look at the menu. One of the workers told me to stand around the bar to order. I told her I wasn't ready yet and I received a dirty look. First timer here and I don't want to stand in line without knowing what I want and hold up the line. I thought it was rude. Ambiance: cute area with indoor seating. Good amount of tables but there are signs everywhere saying order before you sit. read more

Food that reminded me of visits to my grandparents (salt-cured ham, gravy, and big biscuits) married to our foodie adulthood (coconut milk collards, peaches & rosemary jam). Really yummy food in big portions and nice people at the counter and bussing tables. Will definitely be back. read more

Great southern vibes for a classic breakfast/lunch. I had the biscuits with pork sausage gravy and was left very full - good serving size for the price. I'd definitely recommend, the interior is large and accommodating for groups! Staff was friendly and got food out quickly. Knew this place was going to be good based off of the line going all the way through the door! We had a hard time picking what we were going to eat given their wide variety of things to go along with biscuits. Don't let the long line fool you, the service was very quick! We got the classic sandwich with sriracha maple sausage, fruit, side of sausage gravy. We appreciated the jam bar they had and the wide variety. The biscuits were large and very crumbly which made eating the sandwich somewhat difficult. The sausage gravy was delicious and was a great added side to dip the crumbles into. read more

Food was cold. Who wants a cold hard biscuit? Service was good. Staff is friendly. Seats are limited. You have to order first before you can get a table. Some tables are set up communal so be prepared to share a table with others. Not a fan of how people are hovering over tables while people are eating. read more

Came in for a quick breakfast before driving out of Asheville and thought biscuits would be a great filling start to our day. I enjoyed the interior and exterior with it being cat-themed. Your order number comes with a picture of a real cat which I found to be a cute touch. They also have a generous jam/hot sauce bar which was really fun to try and adds a unique twist to your experience. My partner got the Half Breakfast with a side of bacon. She really enjoyed the jam bar since she was able to customize each bite to her liking. I tried the biscuit by itself and I have to say that I wasn't that impressed. It was just fine at best and so for a "biscuit-specific" restaurant, this fell flat. It didn't seem like it was made right then and there between the luke warm temperature and the brittle texture. I got the Asheville Benedict which was interesting. I wanted a slightly 'healthier' biscuit option and so this one was more vegetable forward which I definitely appreciated. However the end result with a warm biscuit and very cold veggies made for a temperature clash that was not very pleasant. I think there's a world where this specific dish could work (maybe separate some of the elements) but as constructed, it's kind of all over the place. I'm confident that had I gotten a different item I'd give it higher marks, but this specific dish plus the biscuit being average really let this meal down for me. read more

I appreciate that this place offers a vegan/gluten-free option. Sadly, they weren't great. The gravy had pieces of sweet potato and was more of a soup? Not bad necessarily, just not a gravy at all and didn't satisfy the craving. The biscuit was just ok. One cool thing is the jam bar! Tried a few jams that were tasty. Went on a weekday morning and it was pretty empty and service was fast. read more
Biscuit was fluffy and chicken was fine, but I don't like thighs and the waiter talked me into trying the thigh. Should've gone with the maple ham, egg and cheese biscuit instead. Line was out to door, and specialty jam bar was a nice touch. read more

A very interesting cat themed restaurant. These are biscuits on steroids. I ordered the fried green tomato biscuit. Very eclectic pairing of flavors. Bri cheese, I got my eggs fried, and a tomato based sauce. So good. So much food !!! read more

Came here on a last minute whim. Glad we did! There was a line, but went fast. From the drinks, to the meal, and the jelly bar. Great place. Huge portions. Def had a Togo container. Happy eating! read more

We came here on a recommendation and I'm so glad we did! The biscuits are quite large and reminiscent of my grandmothers homemade ones. My husband's biscuit did crumble a bit, but he also cut it in half so...I kept mine whole and didn't have that issue! The bathroom was such a vibe too!! Biscuit Head was one of my favorite biscuit spots during my trip around Asheville and Charleston. Expected a decent queue in the morning that goes out the door followed but some very flavorful biscuits where what sets it apart was the chicken, sauces, and combination of flavors. I got the Filthy Animal and it delivered in terms of taste and the amount of food you get where you may be ready for a nap after. Service is great and everyone both employees and guests are friendly. I absolutely love biscuits and brunch, so this was the perfect spot for me! The service was quick and friendly. You order your food at the counter, take a number and then choose a seat wherever you like. They have inside seating and outside seating. Since my dog was with me, I chose to sit outside in their heated tent which was comfortable. Overall I'd say their ambiance is laidback and welcoming to all. Now my thoughts on the food. I thought everything was great! I really enjoyed the pimento cheese grits and classic biscuit sandwich. My only small complaints they knocked my review to 4 stairs was that the biscuit was slightly crumbly and dry and the cheese was cold/not melted on the sandwich. The side platter was delicious. Bacon was flavorful, high quality and absolute phenomenal! I highly recommend this spot and when I'm in Asheville again, I'd happily stop by again. read more

Outstanding chicken biscuit at this local favorite spot. The line is long, but it moves reasonably quickly. Order at the counter, they bring the food to your table. It's a eclectic menu of unique combinations, all centered around.... you guessed it.... Biscuits. I stuck with the basics... A chicken biscuit. It's a delicious drop biscuit, fluffy and flaky in the middle, crunchy on the top. It's sliced and stuffed with a nice hunk of breaded deep fried chicken breast. Chicken is perfect, moist and juicy with a crunch to each bite. Slather on a little honey and now you've got yourself a treat. As good a chicken biscuit as you'll find...MUCH better than CFA. read more

Dude. This place is epic. Crispy bacon, fresh eggs, flaky and buttery biscuits with jams to die for. All the jams, we tried them all. Cute vibe and energy with helpful, cool, friendly staff. Clean restaurant and restrooms. Great decor, fun mugs. Definitely will be back and HIGHLY recommend Biscuit Head to all. Get there early, the line will wrap around the building after 10am! read more
Always a treat and must do when we are in Asheville! The biscuits are so big and fluffy and the toppings are amazing. I got some chicken and sweet potato combination that was very tasty and a megamosa, because it was Sunday brunch after all! We weren't even planning on eating here, but we're walking by and saw the huge line running out into the street. We got on Yelp and saw how popular it is, so we hopped in line. The wait really wasn't too bad. Maybe 20 minutes. The Filthy animal was SO good. Very unique. It was a LOT of food and more on the heavy side, but delicious. The eggs Benedict we got was much "lighter", yet still a large portion. I wish the Appalachai had a creamy-er texture. It felt like they used skim milk to me. Overall, we were really impressed with the size and speed of the restaurant. Sitting out back on the porch was really nice as well and much quieter. read more

Awesome cathead biscuits, creative menu, a JAM BAR, lots of inside and outside seating! Definitely a place you should be eating breakfast or brunch in west Asheville. This is the original location of the three. *Parking hack* Park somewhere else up the street instead of the pay lot behind. There's a big Ingles parking lot nearby. read more

There is both covered and open outdoor seating. The open area tables have umbrellas you can raise for shade.
Do they allow dogs?
Yes... we had my friends dog with us while we were there. For the outside seating of course.
