Late review. My daughter brought me here on 5/13/22 for breakfast. The restaurant was newly renovated and clean. I recall that I ordered some kind of omelette with a side of pancakes. I honestly did not like the omelette. It lacked flavor and was not tasty unfortunately. The pancake was the only item had I enjoyed. I'm sad that I'm disappointed as I've heard many great things about this place as a federal way local. First, I got hash browns after ordering potatoes. Whatever that happens. But more importantly, my Benedict was so overcooked it was essentially a soft/medium boiled egg. Doesn't seem like the bread was toasted either though I did take it to go so I will give them some grace in case the heat of the food made it soggy. The food is still good. Service poor. The problem is that when doing take out they don't care if you get all the food you ordered and paid. I ordered 3 Chicken Fried Steak meals and didn't get the pancakes or toast with any of them. What makes it even worse is that after questioning multiple times about included food the employee left 30% of the order behind and assured me it was all there. Part of this is management stupidity. Why don't they mark the food bags as 1 of 3, 2 of 3, etc. Because they don't care. Of course the employee would have to be able to read. How much do they get paid now? I called and the person who did all this answered. He said he found the food next to where he got the other food. I asked him what are the options. He said I could come back another 1/2 hour to get the cold food. I asked for other options. No sound. Once again I am now the idiot for not tearing each bag open and checking everything. Restaurants should be required to at least offer a credit especially when they know they were wrong. Maybe go further since they knew they were wrong and send the food via uber. Hashbrowns were so greasy couldn't eat them bacon get this bacon on the kids meal was so greasy that my granddaughter couldn't eat it. Saturday morning around 9:45am- waited about half an hour to get seated Saw empty tables but they were not fast to be filled. After seated had to wait a while for our server to came (I think they are understaffed for the amount of customers they are getting in) We asked for water with no ice but they all came with ice which we didn't say anything since we can see our server is very busy. The coffee flight- don't do it. It's sooo watery and taste like sadness Chicken fried steak was good, the pancakes are good too... the hash brown looked good but had burnt taste to it (I love golden brown hash browns and the crispy brown, but usually you don't get this burnt taste like here...) We decided to go here for a breakfast brunch. The wait was really fast, less than 10 mins. The host and server was amazing, they made sure they were quick, positive and made sure we were taken care of. We really enjoyed the pancakes, the chicken and the omelette. I really like this place. This is my second visit here. Mostly wed's I have an hr to kill so I stop in here for a snack. First time I had built my own( BYOB... cute). One egg, sausage links, one biscuit n gravy. I think they gave me two eggs tho.. that was a lot! Yeah I also had a waitress named Rene (my name too) and she signed me up for rewards. This is my current favorite breakfast place around, I drive really far and meet my friend for an exercise class nearby just for an excuse to stop off here for a delicious meal afterwards. It's open early, it's got plenty of parking, portions are huge and I leave really happy. I actually first discovered it in another state and was ecstatic to realize we had our own location (only one so sad), but do also seek this out in Oregon or Arizona. What makes it the best to me is that they offer a vegan menu (currently only 3 items, but used to be a lot more) and they have items that appeal to those who do not have special dietary needs. I absolutely love the vegan southwest delight and say it is my intention to eat my way thru the other menu items on subsequent visits, but can never seem to bring myself to try anything else as this is so delicious. Its the little things that stand out to me, like that you can get vegan cheese/vegan butter/vegan sour cream, although now I realize I have never actually inquired about creamer. Everything tastes so delicious, it's worth the busy weekend morning wait. This is the kind of place where even though it's busy, its not so loud you can't talk to your table mates and you still get fast and efficient service. I made sure I got the brand name before I left since they sold it there. Wheat Montana. I don't know if their biscuits are good. I didn't try it. I'm assuming that they taste good since it's the name of the restaurant. I'm not from the South and I'm not about to cause a debate with my inexperienced opinion on biscuits. The seats next to the beverages and kitchen exposes a very unkept and spoiled area. The visibility of looking at dirty counters and hearing all the staff talk about saving water that previous custom did not want is one of many reasons I will not be returning. As a first (and last time customer) there is no signing at the front that says "sign in here" so we waited a decent amount of time since we noticed, no one was coming to the front to assist. It was easy to get comfortable! We ordered their chocolate coffee which was half coffee, half cocoa. It was a perfect way to heat ourselves up on a cold morning. While we waited for our food, we enjoyed seeing several tables order their mimosa flights-while we didn't have them ourselves, their presentation was fun. I ordered off the build-your own breakfast menu. I ordered 2 eggs (scrambled), red potatoes, and hollandaise. The quality of their food was great. I think for a simple, no frills and filling breakfast, this place is great! The only thing I would change is allowing sides individually for the build your own breakfast. While the meal itself was okay, what makes this a 2 star rating is the fact that they included 4 packets of butter in the same container as the vegan combo.
