I was going to just put 4 stars, the food was really good especially for the price, but the reason I put an extra star was due to my server, Misty. I had a meeting in the area and I was an hour early, so I wanted to get some breakfast while I worked on a few things. She helped me right away, got my order all taken care of, kept the coffee flowing and had my bill ready for me and said no rush just whenever I was ready. Another bad experience with Biscuits. I went in at 2:15 today. Not 2:16 or 2:17. 2:15. Their stated closing hour is 2:30. I was refused service. I was told that I could get a to go box. Was I supposed to sit in my car in the rain and eat? I declined. I'm never going back. They should post it on the door if they stop serving at 2:15. A 1-star not because of the food, but the service. Food was ok. However, when I went to pay (you have to go to the register - the wait staff does not deal with the bill) I approached the register with my card-in-hand. I stood there as a young girl was counting money and ignoring my presence. After a few minutes of waiting, and not being acknowledged, she took the money she was counting and left . . . with no comment. She returned a few minutes later and took my card and ran the check. She gave me the receipt to sign . . . still without saying anything to me. I signed it and left - without a "thank you for coming" or a "how was your breakfast" or "get the heck out of here" from her. Will I return - doubtful. Plenty of friendly breakfast spots in Portland with a touch of customer service. (It was the short girl with the nose piercing - not that either of those matter, but as a means to identify her should the manager wish to take some positive action. I find the manager as much at fault as the girl - she should have been trained as to how to interact with customers. I wonder which other managerial functions are being neglected?) read more

The food and the waitress were great! However, the manager, I think her name was Missy, was very, extremely rude. We got up to pay for our meal, we handed the girl our credit card, gift card and the points we earned which had $5 off. The girl gave us the receipt but we noticed she forgot the gift card. So we were waiting for them to figure it out which was fine until the manager came over and was so flustered she didn't know what was going on, she never took the time to ask. All she wanted us to do is bounce from register to register yelling at my mom saying she has no patience when all we're trying to do is explain what happened before she double charges us. In the end the manager still didn't take the time to understand the situation, she was telling other customers that we didn't pay which in fact we did, which lead to other customers telling us we're horrible people... we feel bad for the waitress because she deserved a tip but the manager made sure that didn't happen. All we wanted was for someone to stop and let us explain the situation, listen to our needs but everyone just wanted to keep pointing fingers and yelling, so we just left. She has no business being someone in customer service especially a manager. I love Biscuits Cafe, but we will never go to that location again. You don't treat customers like that. read more

A co-worker and I visited this location on the 1st of March with eight memory-care residents from an assisted living facility. From the moment we got there, the employees were extremely accommodating and helpful, helping us to ensure that the residents made it safely through the front door and to our table that they had already setup for after we had called in on our way over. Our server, Misty, was very patient with us as I got all the drink and food orders ready. She was also extremely kind to our residents and interacted very warmly with them. She checked in with our party many times to make sure that we had everything that we needed. Misty also offered a generous discount on a sandwich that was a bit over toasted. When we were leaving, the staff again jumped in to ensure the safety of our residents, most of which required walkers. Here we are, a couple of Kawlifornians, visiting friends and looking for a good breakfast place. They say, "Hey, we've been here a year and haven't really gone out for breakfast. There's this Biscuits place I've heard is good, shall we do it?" We say, "Hell Yeah!" We get there and it's a 10 minute wait that took 25 minutes. What the heck, if they're that busy they must have it going on! All I can say is it's worth the wait. I always judge a breakfast place on how they do the basics, bacon, eggs, hash browns and toast. One word for Biscuits, PERFECT!!! The only reason I didn't give them 5 stars is breakfast didn't include champagne and a foot massage. read more

We have brunch there about two weeks, it is August and fresh peaches are everywhere! So when I saw peaches and cream pancakes on the menu as the special of the month, I thought that sounded great. Imagine my surprise and disappointment when huge pancakes with 4 canned peach slices and a spray of canned cream on top were delivered to my table. It is an open, light, no table cloths restaurant and has some outside seating available. The menu has some creativity, like chocolate Chip pancakes, not limited to your standard restaurant fare. Staff was friendly. Food service was slow and we were NOT there at a busy time, numerous open tables but I can tolerate that. I will eat at this or another of these if I'm in the Portland area again. The meal itself was bland, no seasoning. I had the Greek Omelet with red potatoes and the best thing on the plate was the onions with the red potatoes. The portions are large, if you don't care about taste and flavor. The thing that bothered me the most was that to get to the restrooms, you had to walk through the waitress station where food, water glasses, coffee cups, etc were set up. If a person were to sneeze while walking past this everything would be contaminated. You could walk through and help yourself to the fruit that is already set out. We were having breakfast with my family from out of state for Sunday breakfast. 2 of my family members arrived 15 minutes early and ordered a table for 6 adults and 3 children. The waiter seated them and served them coffee as they waited for the rest of us to fallow within 15 minutes. After they received there drinks the Manager come up and told them that they couldn't sit at a table tell there the rest of our party arrived... My family said to her " That not our fault that a waiter seated them" .. Then we arrived (2 more), and manager came back again telling us that we needed to order our food before the other 2 adult and 2 children arrived.. Instead of waiting another 10 minutes. We got the feeling that she was pushing us out the door, before the rest of our family arrived. Then after the rest of our family arrived.. The manager came back again to bug us about how my son was sitting in his infant car seat on the highchairs with an attitude . The food was great.. The servers were excellent. But the manager was really extremely rude at us for having our family arriving within the 15 minutes from different locations. But at the end, i'm sure the manager didn't mind collecting all of our money for 6 adults. read more

A very disappointing experience at the Lake Oswego Biscuits this morning. My friend ordered french toast and when she went to cut into the first piece, she discovered a hair approximately 3" long. She called the waitress over to report it, and the waitress took it back to the kitchen. The waitress retuned after a couple of minutes and set the plate back down and stated the manager looked at it and said it wasn't a hair, but that it was actually part of the egg. My friend said she disagreed, and the waitress said she would send the manager over (still no offer to redo the order). The came over and told us again it wasn't a hair, but was part of and egg. My friend said she has cooked many eggs and it was indeed a hair. The manager still made no offer to redo the order, and until my friend said she would not eat the french toast did he offer to replace the order. After a delay long enough for me to eat my entire breakfast her replacement order of french toast was brought to her. This situation should not even have involved the manager. The waitress should have had the authority to instruct the kitchen to redo the order and my friend's breakfast should have been complimentary because of this experience. Unfortunately our weekly breakfast get-togethers will not be at a Biscuits location again. read more

Until this morning I had been pleased by the food and the service at this restaurant. BUT I WILL NEVER GO BACK TO THIS PLACE NOW. The woman who was on duty as the manager today was a totally officious witch who utterly soured me on this place. My wife and I and our three grown sons, two of whom are visiting from back East, had gone in expecting to have a good Sunday morning breakfast and some pleasant camaraderie. The hostess escorted us to a table in the back. We were served coffee. We had made our selections from the menu. One of our sons was a going to be a bit late in arriving, but four of us were going to order rather than wait for his arrival. We sat for 15 minutes because the waitress mistakenly thought we weren't going to order until the fifth person arrived. I saw the manager whispering to the waitress as she looked in our direction. She then marched over and announced that a party of 20 was scheduled to arrive and that when they did we would have to vacate our table and move elsewhere . She treated us as though we were a group second class rubes and her party of 20 took precedence over anything else. I was taken aback and offended but was too surprised to say anything until the poor waitress came to take our order at which point I blew up at her. The manager then came back and told us: "You need to understand that I'm training two new people and we don't seat a party until all of its members have arrived." One her new people apparently had erroneously seated us before we should have been, even though the restaurant was half empty,and in the place where the manager planned to seat her vaunted party of 20. I told her in rather harsh terms that I didn't appreciate her treatment of us, at which point she literally threatened to throw us out. I don't know where this woman learned about customer service. But she ought to be fired. Had she politely and apologetically explained at the outset that her hostess had made a mistake, we would gladly have moved to make way for the select party of 20. But for her to frame it in a way that blamed us for her problem was beyond the pale. read more
