Second time visiting the bell and grand location, first time was very good unfortunately this time definitely missed the mark. We were one of five tables in the restaurant. All the servers huddled by the kitchen. We were sat and left ungreeted until a unenthusiastic server named Katie came to our table with tiny water cups(something you would give to a child). Our food was brought out and after the first few bites, potatoes were undercooked. My husband sat with an empty cup for 10 minutes until our server finally came over with regular sized water cups, he informed her the potatoes were undercooked and that we didn't want anything in return or new potatoes, she went to the kitchen and shouted to the cooks that we said the potatoes were "hard and not cooked enough". It was very embarrassing that the entire restaurant could hear her and not only discourage guests from ordering the potatoes. No manager came to our table, just a Swift goodbye from the server and out the door we were no "bye thank you for coming". read more

For a place called biscuits don't order any ! They're small dry ,tasteless and just not worth the effort. Omelet wasn't much better. My wife and I had been wanting to try this place as we frequent the area on the weekend. Service was fast, restraunt was clean, but the food was mediocre at best. I ordered the biscuits and gravy assuming that the meal would be unique especially since the name of the restraunt is Biscuits Cafe; biscuits were not homemade, gravy was herb based with very little sausage. The price of the meal was $11.50 for eggs, bacon, and biscuits and gravy. I figured for that price, the food would stand apart. Unfortunately, there was nothing unique about the food with the exception of the weird tasting gravy (strong oregano). Total bill for 3 was $50 for standard breakfast fare. Came for breakfast and had the chorizo omelet and my girlfriend had the cinnamon roll French toast. Definitely would recommend both, maybe I'm weird for not thinking of it but they literally used a cinnamon roll they make in house! Eating and people watching all the waiters seemed very pleasant to be around and more than catered to everyone's needs. Shoutout to John(the super tall waiter) he was dope and extra friendly and always made sure we were okay. I also saw him taking care of a table next to us. As he brought the check and twice afterwards checked on them and offered boxes and cleaning as he went( as in-between johns visits they were trying to justify only tipping a few dollars on an estimated $50 dollar tab) so props to the whole crew for dealing with those kind of people I'm assuming they get a lot.(you know who you are, jerks) read more

This place is great for breakfast, super nice and clean location with great service and huge portions. We came Saturday morning at 9:30 & it only took 10 minutes to seat us. The food is really spectacular also. I had the bacon & eggs, pancakes, waffles, & now the chorizo omelet (all great). I HAD to try the Almond crusted French Toast, it's what I do. It was DELISH! And now I have to go back and try the pumpkin pancakes and sweet potato pancakes. This was our third visit to Biscuits Cafe and the prior visits were pretty good.....food was really good. Today not so much. We ordered a four egg meat omelette with red potatoes and pancakes to split. We read on the menu there was a charge for splitting and we were good with that. Waitress seemed annoyed from the second we asked to split the meal. When the meal arrived the portions were much smaller by half than the previous times I've ordered it for myself. The potatoes were cold...not even warm. When we questioned the portion size of the meal the waitress rudely replied, "I don't know....it depends on who cooks it". We were seated at a table that had not been wiped down. It was promptly addressed when asked but she sprayed the chemical right in front of us so it got on my skin. As we sat for along time to get our food I noticed several things. The hostess stand is dirty underneath, should be mindful when cleaning floors. A hostess dropped a rag for the table tops on the floor and put it right back in a pile where someone quickly grabbed a rag. No sign of a bucket for disinfecting or attention to cleanliness in a post Covid scared world. The couple who was sat before us was leaving by the time we finally got our food. Then my oatmeal was dry and I returned it before even trying it. The second time it looked the same and I questioned if it was just instant oats, the server said they just pour hot water on the oats. I declined it altogether. If I am paying for oatmeal it should be creamy and well made, in my opinion. It was also very loud at this location. Not able to really speak to your party easily. I am a younger person and it was too loud for me. Patio looked like a appealing alternative but was closed. My grandparents prefer the location on Thunderbird for quality and experience. read more

When I was looking at the menu at Biscuits, I was thinking good old fashioned diner food. I was there for lunch and maybe I would have liked this restaurant venue for breakfast better. I ordered a patty melt with fries, when it came the rye bread was barely grilled on one side and not at all on the other, so if the hamburger was juicy it would have been a soggy mess, the server was very nice and asked me if I wanted a recook or replacement. I opted for their version of a brisket French dip. Some places the dip is salty, but the brisket was so salty and tough , dried out ...and lastly their portions are huge but way too expensive for the quality almost 50$ for lunch for 3 I would expect at a steakhouse but not at a cafe. read more

In town visiting for a few days and my Mom was excited to have us try out the "new spot" in town. I'm not sure how people aren't a fan of the coffee - I thought it was amazing and was talked into having it after hearing the rave reviews about it. Apparently it's their own bean and they sell it (along with mugs, granola, and some other goodies) at the front of the restaurant. Amber was our server and she was super friendly and patient with us. We had to do some plate shuffling to keep out of my little one's reach and she helped hold food and plates for me until we got organized. I was trying to be quick and she kept telling me to take my time and not to worry! My husband had to meet us there 15 minutes after us to finish up some work but we were able to order food for the baby and read up on the menu in the mean time. They have clean high chairs (although, strangely they're on wheels) and just a random note to parents - they don't have whole milk. I almost randomly brought some from home but didn't...so we had to settle for 2%. I told her what I was debating getting him for lunch and she told me that a la carte would be cheaper than ordering off of the kids menu. Everyone had breakfast except for me - I had the California Club - which was decent; my only gripe is that bun was a bit too bready and yet at the same time not long enough (or cut evenly enough) for everything to fit on there. My turkey was authentic fresh carved deli meat - not the usual processed stuff you'd generally get from most places. It was a lot of food so the other half came home with me; along with half of the scrambled egg and strawberries for my 1 year old. My Mom's husband said his eggs were a bit overcooked this time around and my husband said his hashbrowns were a bit under cooked but my mom's omelette and the rest of the food was good. I don't live here so I won't be frequenting the place but I'd certainly come back and I'm sure when I visit we will come by again. I didn't see the bill so I can't comment on the price, however it did seem like a lot of their items are super fresh and wholesome. read more

So I have to say... we have been to this establishment a few times and enjoyed it. Today, not so much. We went for breakfast, it was a little busy and I understand that. Service was slow, had a rough time getting refills on coffee. My husband has French toast, eggs and bacon, I ordered pancakes and bacon. When our food arrived my 1/8 inch pancakes were cold and the bacon wasn't crispy ( I did order it extra crispy). The server was nice took everything back and brought out a new order. The bacon was good, however the pancakes left a lot to be desired. I just let it go and didn't say anything. When we were paying, the employee asked me how everything was, I replied with " honesty disappointing " her response was "oh I'm sorry". End of conversation..... wow just wow... I was appalled that our breakfast was almost 40 bucks for 3 flat pancakes, bacon, coffee and my husbands french toast with eggs and bacon. read more

This place absolutely saved me a medical school but only because there is such a scarcity of places serving brunch. I really enjoyed their seasonal pumpkin pancakes and chocolate chip pancakes. The service is always fast and nice and the food is very basic breakfast food. Nothing super exceptionalAnd a little bit too buttery for my taste. I wish they had more low-calorie/healthy fresh items. I went here with my mom, stepdad, and baby brother for Mother's Day so it was very busy. Despite it being so busy, the service was still excellent. Went here for a late breakfast today. The food was tasty and the portions were large. I had bacon and eggs with pancakes. I couldn't eat the 3 pancakes, they were delicious but big and there were 6 pieces of perfectly cooked bacon. My son had the cinnamon roll French toast with scrambled eggs and bacon. He is a 6ft 3inch young man and couldn't eat it all. Again 6 pieces of bacon and the French toast piece was huge. He was pleasantly stuffed! I recommend it! My wife and I enjoy lunch at the Surprise location frequently. The food is great, the biscuits are awesome, and the staff is generally friendly. The rewards program is really rewarding. I have deducted a star, probably should deduct two, because this location is quirky about silverware, as in they never seem to remember it. We are on our fourth visit in a row where they delivered the meal, but we had to ask for silverware. On the last visit, after waiting five minutes after the food came to get the utensils to eat it, my wife actually walked back to the kitchen and got it herself. The amazing thing is no one seemed to care! For goodness sakes, there is a Walmart 500 feet away, go buy some more cheap knives and forks! If the biscuits were not so awesome and the food good, we would drop this place. Keep making us fight for basic utensils and we will. read more
