It is one of the best boutique stores in Old Town. They have good selection of clothing, shoes and accessories. It is on the expensive side, but the shoes I got here get compliments every time I wear it. I like the store clerks do not bother you when you look around. Me and my girlfriends Usually love this store- however, it is definitely more on the expensive side! As someone who works in a customer facing role dealing with marketing- just experienced horrible customer service and left. They sent out an email blast to all clients stating summer sale and An EXTRA 40% off in store only. Went in to purchase a dress and the girl had no idea of what email i was mentioning. I pulled it up and she proceeded to say "oh sorry I've been gone for two weeks"... again terrible service to not have employees in the know. And would not honor the email THEY sent out. I also planned to purchase other things as well but I was so turned off by this. They lost a purchase and a customer- will not be purchasing from here again as good customer service would be to honor the email mistake they had seem to make. Plus the dress is still more expensive than other places - give business to those that value customers and are willing to own up to their mistakes! read more

I like giving places the benefit of a doubt like when the establishment is large and maybe they missed speaking by accident. But for here, I couldn't give them a pass. I even came close to the register so that they would see me. It was only me and a gentleman with a dog in there. The two women one on the phone and the other just looked at me. Really y'all! This is sad and pathetic. Don't act like you don't need the business just coming out of a pandemic, oh but maybe just not my black support. I'm sure that's what it was. I've stopped by Bishop Boutique a few times. Most recently, I stopped by and viewed their outdoor table during the Alexandria Sidewalk Sale a few weeks ago. They have a large selection of items in the store and the few times I've visited, had a pretty decent sale on their jewelry. Yes, this boutique is on the high-end side of things in terms of price. Is it somewhere I'd shop regularly? No. But it's certainly fun to stop by and also great to take advantage of their sales when they have them. I stopped by recently with a couple of friends (socially distanced) and one of my friends bought a face mask that was on sale. The store had a celebration event tonight but no indication that it was by "invitation only". No one acknowledged us as customers. They were very unfriendly and did not even say hello. The event was a bust. I didn't even see any "invited guests" - the store was empty but the employees. I asked before I went in if it was open and a snooty brunette said it's for invited guests only but I guess you can go in. Wow?! Apparently they wanted to celebrate with themselves LOL! read more

Kelly, the owner, has a great eye and had tricked out a tiny little sliver of a building into a jewel box. Her shoes, bags and jewelry are chic and sexy. This is a hipster find in a relatively staid shopping environment (Old Town). You will find names you recognize (Moschino Cheap & Chic) and then up and coming talent too, like the raw linen tote from a new American Designer that I just picked up. Absolutely horrible customer service, these folks do NOT stand behind the products that they sell. My wife bought a pair of $300 shoes that fell apart after only wearing them twice; Bishop Boutique refused any sort of return, store credit, etc. Not only that, but it took them about three weeks to decide that they weren't willing to take the return. It was pathetic. Thankfully the manufacturer was so much more helpful with this than the folks at the store... But what a pain in the butt. Don't shop here. Yuck. read more

Well, I like Bishop's selection of cute shoes so very much I paid $200 for a hip pair of rubber boots there a month ago. But, as it turns out, I got (or more likely was given) the wrong size. When I pulled them on for the one day that I wore them they felt a tad snug, but I ignored it, thinking that they had to be right since I'd tried on so many sizes/styles at the store to get just the right one. But, by the time I had them on for a couple of hours of errands, my feet were killing me. And I was in DC so I couldn't get them off fast. I took them back to the store a few days later. I had the receipt and the box. The person behind the desk told me there was nothing she could do about my unwearable boots except to sell me a new pair in the right size for a mere 20% discount. I told her I shouldn't need to spend $360(!) to get a wearable pair of rubber boots. She suggested I find a resale shop to take my bad boots to. This small shop owner has made a mistake. I live near this store and could have bought dozens of pairs of shoes there over the years. Instead I'm writing this review and telling others I know about Bishop's bad customer service. read more
