I love everything about my haircut and color at Bishops in Campbell! I went this past Sunday morning, coordinated my appointment with the awesome Campbell Farmers Market! I got a fun textured pixie cut plus shiny brown rich color for just $185 plus tip, much less than I pay in Chicago! I'm a traveling healthcare worker, only in San Jose for another month. I'm bummed I won't get to see Candace again! I may just fly back for haircuts, she is fantastic with short hair and such a friendly person, very easy to talk to! Been coming here for years and normally I'm super happy! I typically get my hair cut with Arynn and always comes out great However, this time I didn't book ahead and scheduled with whoever was available and got my hair cut with Emily. She messed up my curtains bangs and shouldn't have told me she knew how to cut them if she didn't know how. She did my trim well! Don't use the online request appointment request. They only ask if you have long or short hair and it's based on price for either long/short hair. But if you have long hair and want to go short, that's not reflected online anywhere and you can show up to your appointment and get a stylist that isn't comfortable cutting long hair short. Manager was rude that I was upset we had to reschedule and said "most people are fine with rescheduling". If all stylists can't do all styles, they should not be an option for appointments online unless you screen them all. Will not go back to this location. And same patronizing response. No accountability. Just attempting to save face by seeming nice. Too bad the in person tone doesn't match the saccharine attempt in the response. read more

This was my second time going to bishops in Campbell and I have seen Candice both times. She did a beautiful fashion color on my hair the first visit and this time she did an amazing cut that I am very happy with. I would recommend her to anyone who is in need of either service or who needs that in-between cut when you're trying to grow out your hair. She gave really good recommendations and guided me along the cut when I wasn't sure what I wanted to do next. Shampoo time was 10/10! This review is long overdue. I've been going to Bishops Campbell now for a couple of years and I've had the pleasure of having my hair done by several different hairstylist that work here. I've been so happy with the results every single time, you really can't go wrong with booking any of the stylists. The last few times I've gone, I've specifically booked Candice because I feel like her technique makes my highlights look very natural and is exactly what I'm looking for each time. She always seems to understand my vision and will offer suggestions to get me to my goal hair, even if that's not exactly what I booked. She's also super friendly and easy to chat with! Something else that I really love about this place is the vibe and management style. It really feels like the manager is keeping an eye on every customer and making sure that everyone walks out the door happy. Overall, this is just the most welcoming salon I've ever been to. Everyone here does a really good job making you feel comfortable from the second you walk in the door. 10/10 would recommend this place to anyone! read more

After reluctantly agreeing to let my kiddo get their hair dyed I searched around for places that would be welcoming and also help give some advice. I scheduled a color consult at bishops online and Jaclyn gave us some great advice and levels of quotes based on photos we brought in. She gave us specific instructions about what to book online if we decided to come back. Which is what we did. Jaclyn was kind and professional from start to finish. She was a clear communicator and the color results were perfect and above and beyond. She answered all of my questions without being condescending, and was genuinely very helpful. Hit or Miss. I've had two haircuts. The first was perfect, she listened to me, made recommendations and got my approval before moving forward. I loved what she did! My first stylist left Bishops sadly. My second stylist ignored the length, color, and style I asked for and every time I spoke up she kept telling me not to worry. It was devastating to leave Bishops feeling like I paid to ruin my hair. She had also told me several times that she gets bad yelp reviews and doesn't know why people don't speak up, and I was speaking up but she didn't care! I scheduled a long haircut for my teen daughter, which is listed online as a 50-minute service, but the entire appointment was rushed and over in about 15 minutes. Unfortunately, the cut wasn't what she asked for and her face-framing layers are uneven, and overall it felt like care and attention were missing. I wish my daughter had felt comfortable speaking up during the appointment. It was a disappointing experience this time. The last haircut I got here was 3 years ago. I walked in, showed the person cutting my hair a short-mid length haircut with a grown in look. I was turned away from the mirror for the duration of my haircut. As she was cutting my hair she said "Wow, I love your hair, its so textured!" I should've known then. When I saw myself again after the haircut was over, It was devastatingly short. I asked for bangs at my eyebrows. You could see my entire forehead. It looked like a grown out buzzcut. I cried myself to sleep that night. I couldn't look at myself. I took a week off school and had multiple panic attacks. I wore a hat for a year. That was the last haircut I ever got. I've cut my own hair ever since. Yes, it was one specific person years ago. They might not even work there anymore. However, this event affected my life too severely not to leave a review. read more

I love this salon! They have lots of stylists available which is nice when you want a quick haircut but I prefer to wait a few weeks so that I get my haircut with either Aileen or Arynn. Aileen has given me my favorite haircut ever and Arynn is so attentive, asks lots of questions, and really understands how curly hair works. They always show me exactly how much length they're going to cut and they spend some time going over how to properly style my curls so that my hair looks the best that it can. The pricing is around $47 for long hair (not including tip) which isn't bad at all considering how much other salons charge for a haircut (and they almost never know how to properly care for curly hair). One thing to note is that if you're not satisfied with your hair and you want an adjustment, you only have one week after your original appointment to call them and ask to get your hair fixed. I didn't see this policy posted anywhere so it's definitely something to be aware of if you don't want to pay for a second appointment. read more

I gave it one star because the owner didn't care much of the results, Basically just pay $250 for the bad job (see attached). I asked for chocolate brown and I thought it was considerably easy ask. I stood up from the chair with orange roots and the rest of my hair in deep black. I was told that a reverse ombré is now in?! I asked if there's anything that can be done to fix it and I was told to come back so I could pay another $340 on top to fix a job that she horribly did. Nope On the other hand, I'll give Tina 5 stars because she did a fantastic job to my sisters highlights. What made a difference is she actually asked if my sister liked it or not.. true customer service. As late as it was, she was willing to correct anything that my sister didn't like. If this review and bad color job pic still makes you want to come here - please ask for TINA. The owner left in a hurry and her assistant just stared at my hair - she was as baffled as I am. If this is the way a manager treats a customer with no care whatsoever of the outcome? Go somewhere else. Totally regret it read more

I have been happily coming to Aileen for 6+ years for a root touch-up & toner. After years of box bleaching, I decided to get it professionally done as I did not want to keep frying my hair while not getting the color that I wanted. From the start Aileen has been amazing. I told her the shade I wanted, and once she was able to achieve said shade, has been able to consistently give me the same color. This is the first non five star review I've ever given on Yelp. The worst haircut I've ever had, including one I gave myself during the pandemic. I asked for a medium fade. The barber was convinced that the fade line for a mid fade is just above the ear. There's literally a chart on the mirror with diagrams of each type of fade. She asked twice if I wanted to fade the sides down to the skin, and I said no both times. While the sides look good (aside from a small divot on the left side), she inexplicably took the back down to the skin (with a very uneven fade line). I guess my neck hair was covered so she didn't see it, but how do you not check before I get up from the chair? The most ridiculous part was that she didn't cut the hair by my left ear at all, and honestly forgot about it. Like a two square inch patch. When I asked her to trim it, she then ran the razor across it and said "perfect". I asked for the mirror, and was unsurprises to see that she didn't get all of it. The second time she did. This was before I saw the back of my head in the mirror, at which point I just wanted to leave. I'll wear a hat for a week or two. Thankfully only the back is bad. She might be great at women's cuts and styles, but she has no idea how to cut men's hair. I'm gonna try a men's barbershop next time. read more

Aileen is one of the best hairstylists I have ever had. I was going to pick her because my partner had a great experience with her a couple weeks ago, but I wanted to get a haircut done asap. The haircut I got it done by someone else was good at first but there was a minor thing that I didn't notice until I went home. I called the next morning and was hoping I could get it fixed. Aileen stepped in to accommodate my schedule because the previous person was unavailable, but I was super happy that Aileen was the person to help out at the end. I loved how Aileen took her time to do the touch up even though it wasn't done by her at the first place. She helped me feel so comfortable by making great conversations! I am glad that I finally found a hairstylist who I would love to go back to. read more

I'm going to preface by saying this is our third time our family goes to this chain. In a total of six appointments. I have gone twice. My first appointment was supposed to be a shampoo and trim long hair. Arrived a few minutes late, I did not get the shampoo, I got the trim with 15 minutes left over from my appointment. :( The reason I did not get the shampoo was because I had arrived late. My daughter got a haircut there that went well. It was just a trim. Fast-forward to a couple of years later, I decided to save money. I decide to get a trim for my long hair and get a graduated face framing style. The people are really sweet and nice. We got our stylist coffee and we chatted. She cut my hair and when she went to style it, I said if you style it I can't tell, the face framing and how it came out. And she was like "I'm not going to style it a lot. I'm just going round brush it." The style look great. (I part my hair in the middle.) Last night when I went to check how even it was on both sides, I was appalled to notice that the right side was a good 2 inches longer than the left side so the graduation was not even on both sides. I made an appointment again. They were very nice and understanding and I came in this morning, I asked how the stylist was going to correct my hair cut. And they were going to wing it again, scissor razor style. I was truly surprised because there is no way to match freestyle razor. You would have to cut it with scissors, to match one side to the other. Then trim the excess. (As I got up to leave they did indicate they could do it a different way. If I have to tell you how to do your job, you've lost my confidence.) I've had long hair for a very long time. I am fully aware that if you're going to pay $50 for a haircut you're going get a $50 haircut. That should include symmetry. My daughter's haircut was also not even, she had her bangs trimmed. If you're getting a trim, go, if you care about your hair being even don't go. read more
