#9 Onion Kulcha

Food: 2/5 There is a lot of dining area inside, I noticed it was empty but decided to take a chance. I took a seat and ordered chicken boti kabob, palak paneer, and onion kulcha. The gentlemen there seemed to be working alone who took my order. I asked for water which he replied with bottled water only is available, I requested for the chicken to be spicy. 15-20 minutes later, he brought the food. The item brought to us was incorrect, chicken seekh kabob instead of boti. I pointed this out, and he seemed to not understand what I was saying. He did not offer to bring the correct item until I asked three times, he mentioned it would be another 15 minutes wait, which I was okay with. When the chicken was finally brought out it was burnt. I pointed this out as well along with it tasting incredibly dry and chewy, not spicy at all. The server/cook replied with "that's just how it is" in Hindi. I drizzled the chutney available onto the chicken to try to counteract the dryness and lack of flavor but it was also very watery and bland. Service: 2/5 I felt overall this was very poor customer service. Not sure if the place is seriously understaffed, it's the language barrier, or some other factor as well because I saw plenty of good reviews from a few years ago. I had to ask multiple times for every thing and somehow still there were errors and no apology or resolution. Ambiance: 2/5 Inside was very quiet, empty, the entire time I was there I did not see anyone come in or order. The plate which had the palak panner on it was incredibly dirty/stained, the restaurant itself seemed unsanitary and like it had not been cleaned recently. I would not want to dine here again.

Dear Owner, My message is solely for improvement. Please pay attention to your business. Customers give their time and hard earn money expecting to receive if not top class but just a decent experience. Just another horrible desi try.. we reached mid afternoon around 2pm. First we asked for Nahari they were out, then we checked haleem they were out then we asked for pulao they were out. We ordered kadhai, seekh kabab, so called biryani.Food below average. Service was fast because everything was microwaved other than nans (hence 1 star).. Don't even getting me started on the ambiance and cleanliness. They are serving food in melamine ware that's getting use for repetitive microwaving that you can easily see in the plates food was served. Super dirty, unhygienic, unequipped restrooms. My words can't do justice hence attaching pictures. YOUR BUSINESS NEEDS YOUR ATTENTION. STOP PLAYING WITH CUSTOMERS HEALTH AND HYGINE.

Mashaalah... Good Chicken Sekh Kabob tender and tast was good with a good Tandory bread I recommend this place is better then Shalimar. In Shalimar 3 out of 5 times went there left disappointed till I decide not to go there at all . Bismillah Restaurant made me happier. Will come back again.

Chicken biryani, chicken tikka masala and garlic naan bread

I was craving Indian food and decided to stop by Bismillah's. I ordered the chicken biryani, chicken tikka masala and naan bread. Everything was very delicious. Chicken biryani: 4/5 This dish gives you such a generous amount of rice. It was freshly made and delicious. Chicken tikka masala: 2/5.... They definitely skimped on the chicken for this dish. The container was packed with masala sauce but there was only a few chopped up pieces of chicken breast. If you look at the picture, you can clearly see that the container looks like it has soup instead of a chicken dish. I wouldn't necessarily say it was worth the money because I have tried chicken tikka masala at other Indian restaurants that gives you a good portion of meat for the same price or cheaper. But the sauce was good and flavor was there. Naan bread: 4/5 I tried the garlic naan bread and it was very good. I would recommend that you try the green sauce. It goes good with the food and is so flavorful. Atmosphere: Located in a busy business food and shopping center. Parking is limited sometimes. Overall: I would say that my experience would be a 3/5 stars.

#10 Garlic Naan The best nann I have ever had in my life!

The food was absolutely delicious! We ordered quite a bit, but the standouts were the Papri Chaat, Malai Tikka Kabob, Butter Chicken, Spicy Chicken Vindaloo, and the Garlic Naan--every single bite was mouthwatering. The service was just as impressive as the food. We were the last table to finish dinner, and they never made us feel rushed. They let us relax, enjoy our meal, and take our time, which was such a refreshing experience. Before we left, we noticed their beautiful display case filled with traditional pastries and sweets. We didn't have room to try any this time, but we'll definitely be back for them! We got the lamb curry, lamb biryani, butter chicken, naan and garlic naan, pakora, saag paneer, and Chana masala. And a round of mango lassi for all! The food was very good and came in these cute metal vessels. I personally was super happy that we got metal utensils and ceramic plates. Every restaurant I go to now these days are plastic everything. If I had to pick a few favorites, I would say my favorites were the butter chicken, pakora, Chana masala and the garlic naan. I will be back!

My friend had the Pakora dish with chickpeas and was very tasty and fresh. I had the chicken tandoori which has a Smokey tang to them and the jasmine rice and sauces were all excellent. My chicken was moist and juicy and came out steaming on a hot platter. The serving sizes were generous and the price was very reasonable. The owner offered some tasting of Free Kittens beer and it was also delicious and we ordered some. The beer selection is second to none and had my favorite oatmeal stout ! It was quiet and seating was comfortable. I had leftovers as there was so much to eat despite being hungry from moving furniture all day. The menu is expansive and the food came quickly, a definite return choice in East Bay off the beaten path.

I went with some co workers for lunch and we shared what we individually ordered amongst ourselves because it was our first time getting Nepali food. When we arrived, there was no one at the front. Mind you, we came in 30 mins after opening for lunch. We rang the bell multiple times and then as we were about to go to a different place, thinking there was no one around, the cook came out and took our orders. I could tell he was a but overwhelmed since we were a group of 5, but he was really nice and courteous. He also answered the questions we had concerning the food. It took about 40 - 50 mins for our food to get in. We were the only ones in the restaurant so I'm surprised it took the long. That being said, i realized there was only one cook in the kitchen to it makes sense why it took so long however, I was not mentally prepared to wait that long. Around 12 pm, the hostess came in and was shocked to see us. She apologized for being late and wanted to get our orders but we told her the cook already got them. After waiting for about 50 mins, we finally got our orders. The food was AMAZING. Starting with the chicken sekuwa. It was a complete 10/10. I would definitely come back just for this. It was seasoned to perfection, very tender and juicy. The C Momo was very crispy and covered in a nice sweet chilli sauce. They're like deep fried dumplings. I would give it an 8/10. The lamb curry was very savory and filling. We got that with some rice and roti. It paired very well. I would also rate that an 8/10. The lamb thali was good but I think I was overwhelmed with everything on the plate. It was not bad, the lamb and lentil soup were good but I think I did not know how best to eat it so I could not fully appreciate it. I would give it a 6.5 The thai iced tea was pretty standard one. Very nice and not too sweet. 8/10 for ne The food here was pretty remarkable. I usually don't care about 'bad' service but this one really had a huge impact and stopped me from giving it a higher rating. I would not be too keen on coming back here with how understaffed they are but I do understand. If you're not in a rush, and are ready to grow your fruit of patience, I would definitely say the food is worth the wait and it was really good.

It's small outlet with about three tables (seating about 15-ish?). We walked up to the counter and placed an order for the Chaat (paapdi) and Samosa chaat. The paapdi chaat was pretty decent with the crunchy namkeen discs holding up layers of diced potatoes, masala, yogurt, sweet chutney, and chickpeas. Personally, I preferred the samosa chaat. The samosas stayed crispy inspite of the layers of chutney and warm channa masala heaped on top. All in all both the dishes were pretty nice. The confusing part is the paucity of chaat items on the menu. The establishment literally has "chaat" in it's name but you will find only three items under the "Chaat" subsection of the menu; the menu was dominated by lunch/dinner items. I did spy an "Aloo tikki" dish in the menu, I do wonder if it's served as an appetizer instead of as a "chaat". I wish them well and hope they get better with time, and hopefully with more chaat items on the menu.

Granting them the 4 stars. You can choose the spice level as well. Every dish we got we enjoyed. Lassis were sweet, yogurty, and had nice spice to it. The fish thali has wonderful flavor that paired well with the sides (except cold potatoes were ok). Samosas chana were also well flavored, paired well with the sauces and chickpeas, and crispy after being deep fried. Tikka masala and butter chicken were served in roughly 8 inch length dishes. Wonderfully seasoned, I would eat them for the sauce alone and chicken was tender. Served with rice and works great with it, but we also got some garlic naan (very garlicky would recommend). Chicken momos were ok in my opinion. Ok flavor but juicy and skin wasn't too thick. Isn't my taste personally, but similar to a korean mandu. However, can't rate them 5 stars because the service wasn't that great. We weren't checked on at all during our meal (or any of the tables next to us), no one even came to refill water. We had to flag them repeatedly to try and get the check and get a bag for our leftovers. They were attentive to what containers we needed for our leftovers though. I'd recommend this place for the food if you are ok with potentially lackluster service
