Went on a Wednesday night late, after 830pm. It was nearly empty but i was treated with a lot of attention and found my table staff of Rebecca, Melissa and Anna to be delightful. Friendly, engaging, pleasant and knowledgeable. Most importantly, genuine. They seemed like old friends catching up or new friends wanting to know more about you. That Anna is a gem, so full of energy and spunk, she never stopped moving. Give her a raise. The food, and this is a steak house so you'd want to order steak, was delicious. I had a blue cheese/mushroom steak with a side of creamed spinach. That doesn't sound very sexy but that creamed spinach was amazing and a perfect compliment for the steak. They have an expansive wine list that i studied but opted for water. A lot of very nice selections to pair with a steak. Oh, when i came in they had a night time drama or something on TV, i asked and they immediately put on the NHL playoffs and put me at a table where i could see the game. David L thanks for your responses yes July 26th was the evening we were there. It my wife's 50th birthday, our dear friend Deanne Romano treated us. The gnocchi was to uniform to be hand made. The asparagus should be the diameter of the pencil that night it was size about a dime the stem should have been shaved down. Being New Englanders we know lobster the shell and meat was burnt from the broiler. We felt like we could have gotten the same meal down stairs. We decided to try out Bistecca on our anniversary as someplace new to us. Both my wife and I were very impressed with the restaurant. We happened to be there at 7pm on a night with no racing and were immediately seated (we did have reservations, but we wouldn't have needed them). The ambiance was very nice. While I can't stand the smoky smell of the Meadows Casino, inside Bistecca was like a different world, albeit that some diners nearby took the dress code very casually and looked out of place. The food was excellent. Possibly the best Caesar salad I have ever had (one at Disney World also comes to mind), followed by grilled chicken and the molten chocolate cake. Mentioning that it was our anniversary scored us a complimentary dessert, though as I found out later on the bill, it was only 1 complimentary dessert, not 2. Yes, it is very expensive for the quantity of food that you get. No, I will not dine here regularly. But if someone asks me for the nicest restaurant in the area, I will not hesitate to recommend. read more

The food is fair, nothing extravagant. My steak had to go back twice to be cooked correctly. The roasted broccoli was bland, and the aged cowboy ribeye was missing its yummy melt in your mouth taste. Service was good and the place clean. read more

I dont gamble but family sure does, the steaks are fantastic when cooked as ordered.... Have been here 7-8times and have ordered the same thing for $45 which is reasonable. Actually the steak is really good for the money. The wait staff I've had is either way to chatty or depressed they are old and still waiting tables, but I don't care about service at all just like every other american, just give a product/service that you can't complain about anything specific and im happy. read more

For the price I expected a Ruth Chris experience. My filet was overlooked and we ordered the broccoli which was basically raw. I don't mind al dente but this was nowhere near that. Lastly, the service was horrible. We couldn't get drink refills forever. read more

I have had dinner here several times and really enjoy the food and wine. I drink organic wine as a norm, and although the Bistecca does not offer organic wine, they do have a nice selection. The location is nice, as it is inside the Meadows Casino and my husband and I love to visit the Meadows on occasion. Although my husband feels that the restaurant is a bit stuffy, I tend to disagree and feel it is a wonderful place to celebrate a special occasion. Ate at the cigar bar as I wanted to have a cigar and eat dinner. Best of both worlds! Bar kind of hard to find, behind closed doors. Felt a little like I was entering into a conference room or meeting room. No one else there except me, which was fine as I had spent the day with lots of people and I really wanted some down time. Server was attentive (well there was no one else there!) but not overly so, you know what I mean? Gave me space but made sure things were done in a timely fashion, very professional. VERY EXPENSIVE for the quality of food. It is good, but not great. Good bread. Blue cheese wedge dressing was runny. Crab cake appetizer was superb, but at $21! For one crab cake! Steak was good. Gnocchi average. Au gratin potatoes bitter. Cheese cake special was horrible. Tasted spoiled. House coffee with liquers ok. Had to ask for water a couple times. I can't really understand all of the other 5 star reviews for Bistecca. To me, it seems like a second rate replica of Capital Grille. Same type of menu and same pricing, but just a bit off note in many respects. Most noteworthy, my Delmonico Toscana was fatty and almost seemed to me to be a choice (rather than Prime) grade of meat. I could have sworn that the garlic rub was garlic from a jar rather than fresh garlic. I requested medium rare and received a medium well steak. This place IS a steakhouse, but they totally swung and missed with the entree. Our sauteed spinach and mushroom side dishes had no seasoning whatsoever. Strike two. Finally, for wine, our table ordered a Chardonnay and a red Zin - both pricey. Despite the attempt to pose as a true wine restaurant, we all received the same type of wine glasses. This is probably nothing to most guests, but this sealed my opinion of Bistecca. In summary, it's not bad, but it is a mediocre imitation of some of the better steakhouses. read more

Company Christmas party .... been here many consecutive years ... been going downhill every year. This time... appetizers were not hot. Service was poor and we reserved the room for 7:00pm and don't even get our SALADS until after 9:00pm!!!! This is ridiculous!!!!! I have praised this place for years but the truth need to be told on where they have gone over the years. The steaks were not medium ... they were RAW. I would prefer more raw than overlooked but this was RIDICULOUS. I am so disappointed! WTH has happened over the years???? read more

By far the worst treatment ever. I never made it into the Restraunt, as I was ignored by the hostess and then told every seat was taken until 8:50 that night. Please if you get a chance I highly highly recommend this place to go eat. The food is out of this world and our waitress who's name was Melissa was awesome very polite very savy with the whole menu. If you go there ask for her. She will explain and walk you through the menu if need be. The desserts they have are beyond words as is the food. Let me tell you I am 44 years old and in 44 years I have never eaten a better meal in my life. Honest to God. I wouldn't tell my mother that lol . Great place on the second floor of the Meadows Casino . The restaurant overoloks the race track so be sure to ask for a window seat. I have been here several times . The service is great and wine and drink list is huge . The menu is ala carte but that is the norm for upper tier steakhouses . A bit pricey but that is too be expected . Three of us ate there last night and we were all very satisfied! Definitely one of the best filet mignon steaks that I have tasted! Cooked medium rare and it was juicy and tender and the seasoning gave it a crisper crust.. melted in my mouth... so delicious! Twice baked potato was also yummy! read more

The lady and I both had the filet oscar with huge chunks of crab and three asparagus spears and hollandaise. The steaks were done perfectly, although methinks on a flatop as there was none of the requisite, (in my opinion), char flavor or for that matter any crust on the outside, nor any grill marks. At a steakhouse????? Sides are a la carte, which goads me to no end. If you're gonna charge me fifty bucks for a steak, throw in the damn potato ya'll. I mean the average joe just lost his a#s in the casino downstairs so throw a guy a bone! On the plus side they're big enough to split so potato and broccoli sides were shared and they were good. The service was excellent and cordial. The restaurant overlooks the horse track and would be an ideal venue at which to watch your money leave you at the races. The smell of cigarette smoke wafts up from the casino below, vaguely yet persistently annoying the individual spoiled by non-smokng laws elsewhere. Good food for a typical casino level pricing. I was visiting town and not familiar with what else is around. Waitress was very friendly and prompt with service. Steaks tasty but not mind blowing in any way. I'm partial to Ruth's Chris, so that's my level of excellence standard. The sides were good and meant to share. We didn't have room for apps or dessert. This is a great restaurant inside the Meadows Casino. It's expensive but it's worth it. We've eaten here quite a few times and every time, the food was delicious and the service impecible. If you frequent the casino and spend a lot there, call one of the casino hosts to see if they'll give you a comp for Bistecca. While the two are not "technically" affiliated, you can still get a nice comp depending on your casino status. I instantly fell in love with this place the first time my wife and I went. The service was prop and pleasant, which is a huge plus in my book. Also as you eat you can watch the horse races and even place bets. The desserts are outstanding. Decent restaurant for the area. Wine selection is good as well. I've had much better steaks at Sullivan's, the Palm, etc. But for this area it is decent. The real hidden gem in the casino is the cigar bar. If you dont mind a little smoke the food in the cigar bar is fantastic. Went for a family birthday. 4 people, $455, no wine, 3 beers. Mediocre experience. The service was slow, waitress didn't ask us if we wanted separate checks so ended up having to figure everything out on our own. The cod special was pretty bland and uninteresting. The roasted broccoli was tasteless and crunchy beyond belief, not an enjoyable experience. The oysters on the half shell and crème Brule were good. The chopped salad looked like something they'd serve in the hospital, small, limp, naked and boring. Husband said the steak was good. For the cost of this food, I would have expected much, much better. The average dinner I make in an evening is more flavorful than this. I see no point in returning. No one who has given this place a low rating so far has had an unreasonable complaint, it's just not very tasteful food. I'd suggest skipping it and trying someplace better. read more

The food here is wonderful every time we go. Normally we are in a party of 2 or 4 and service is normally excellent. The food is always amazing. Steaks are prepared expertly and always to the proper temperature. The dessert selection is always changing and homemade. We always enjoy saving room for dessert but the entree always makes it hard to do that. I recommend this restaurant for special occasions and for just dinner. read more

Amazing service! Our waitress Melissa was hands down outstanding! She helped us with the wine list to compliment our dinner, very helpful and all around great! Will be asking for her again! Melissa asked if we were celebrating anything and we were, we were there to celebrate our anniversary. We ordered dessert and came out with a candle on our dessert for us to celebrate it was very heartfelt of her to do this for us! We have never been disappointed while there, the filet Oscar is amazing! Decided to change it up and picked their special of the night cod with crab on top with Brussels sprouts and was so happy with the choice, big helping of crab also! So delicious! I recently visited this restaurant with 4 friends-- so a table of 5 in total. I would describe the atmosphere as drab to ordinary. Drinks at the bar were priced right, even if you had to beg for attention from the bartenders. Once seated, the waitress was wonderful. Very friendly, made good suggestions and seemed eager to please. That's about all the positives I can say about this disappointing restaurant-- however, I suppose that our experience could be a fluke. After getting our apps, we waited and waited and waited and waited for our mains to arrive. We could hear yelling in the kitchen, which was not all that close to our table. We supposed that there was some sort of fight in the kitchen. Whatever it was, it seriously delayed our dinner. The manager walked over at one point to tell us that he was going to the kitchen to find our food-- and we still waited 40 additional minutes. It was over TWO HOURS from the time we sat down until the mains arrived. If there were any food alternatives in the area, we would have walked out. When the food came, it was good-- not great. The prices are a little high for the quality of the food, but not terrible. The restaurant did redeem themselves slightly by buying us a round of drinks and desserts. I will say that 4 of the 5 desserts were delicious. To top it all off, we used the valet at the casino (which seemed to be necessary because their tiny garage was full) and it took 45 minutes for our car to be retrieved. Bistecca tries to pass itself off as a high end steak place similar to Morton's or The Capital Grille. It's not quite in the same league. Steaks are good but in two trips I had an undercooked and overcooked steak both ordered medium rare (if anything, a good steak restaurant should get the meat temperature right every time). I knocked this place down from 4 stars to 3 based on some attitude I witnessed from a bartender and hostess to other guests while I was there - indicating the management falls short in the customer service department. read more
