We had a large party and we were coming from all corners of the state, and Clark NJ was a perfect central location. One of our friends found this little gem online and made a reservation. There was another large party that was there prior to us, and they were not yet finished when our reservation time rolled around. There was about a 30 minute wait which was understandable since we had a party of 12. On the bright side, they opened one of our bottles of wine for us and let us have a glasses while we waited. The owner is a very warm individual, and he sincerely wants everyone to have a nice time. As his regular customers entered, it was all handshakes, kisses on the cheek. I was impressed. Even as first time customers, he had a welcoming demeanor which was a very nice touch. This is while he was attending to a dozen other things at the same time like a great owner/manager does. Once we were seated, we were well attended to by a couple member of the staff. They took our orders and just gave solid unassuming service. For apps we had grilled octopus, dynamite shrimp Flatbread and calamari. All good quality. I had a special, lamb ossobuco with a truffle rice which was delishious. The horseradish encrusted salmon was not a big hit with some of the ladies from what I heard but everything else was well enjoyed. I capped it off with a creme broulee and cappuccino which was perfect. The damage was not bad. We ordered liberally and after gratuity it was a little under $100 per couple. Very good value for the quality. The restaurant is byob and located in a strip mall which is easy to find and park. I recommend you try out Bistro 1051. read more

I booked this place for a retirement party and in the past for a bridal shower. Mike is so accommodating and so easy to work with. On Thurs., 5/11 we booked the room to the left of the restaurant for a retirement party. They did the following for us: - Setup 15-20 people into a U shape - 4 entrees buffet style with salad and garlic bread ----Penne Vodka (fave) ----Chicken Francaise ----Flounder ----Eggplant Parm (fave) - Soda. Tea and Coffee included - Cookies and Csnolis We were also able to bring our cake and BYOB. Very nice venue. Ian who helped our party was great and the celebrant thought he was eye candy so it made the retirement party even better. Lol Everyone enjoyed the food. We had Bistro 1051 cater my childrens b'nai mitzvah this past weekend and the food was delicious. We had many a guests ask us where the food was from. Our family has dined in and have always whether it be a burger or sushi or chicken/beef/seafood fish found it outstanding. The owner Michael really knows what he is doing. We hosted as repast for our Mother at Bistro 1051, in June of 2024. It was an easy process from making the reservation with the owner Mike Savvis, to the actual day of the repast. The food was delicious as expected, we've eaten there prior, and the service was very good. We had a party of about 60 and they really enjoyed the gathering. I was a tad worried that Bistro 1051 had a little bit of an identity crisis (sushi AND Italian food AND steak on the same menu?) but my fears were quickly dissolved. Fresh warm bread upon being seated. Don't mind if I do! The balsamic calamari was sweet and tangy with a nice, flaky tempura coating. Huge portion and it was just as amazing the next day. Our sushi was presented nicely and it delivered on taste. The deep-fried cheesecake dessert was well worth the calories. They even split the order for us for ease of sharing. I would have eaten the whole damn thing in 7 seconds if the plate was put in between us. Our table was visited often but without being intrusive. Water glasses were readily filled and we appreciated this since we were pretty dehydrated from our day at the beach. And the 15% off Yelp check-in deal was honored with a smile. If I say nothing else about our experience here, then I must comment on how excellent the waitstaff was. Extra star just for that. Everyone from the hostess to the servers to the manager were fantastic. Our dinner was timed perfectly, and I love places that employ enthusiastic people who have a vested interest in the menu as well as their patron's experience. I have been here twice. Once was for a party. The other time I stopped in for lunch. The party was great. The servers were quick to refill drinks, replenish food and clean empty plates. Great service. I recently stopped in for lunch with a friend. I had a chicken with spinach sandwich. Wow, I didn't realize when I ordered it that it came with roasted garlic. WOW, did that garlic take the sandwich from good to beyond amazing. This is a BYOB. If you are in the area this is a MUST try. OMG THIS FOOD. IS TO DIE FOR!!!! We got the seafood linguini and the Karyn's Veal Parmigiana for takeout. The food is top notch. The flavors, the packaging, literally everything is amazing. The seafood linguini fed me for 4 days, the portion was incredibly generous and I'm not complaining since it was a bit up there in price. The Veal was also a great portion especially for the price. Do yourself a favor and check this place out. We're going to be returning for the dining in experience and I can't imagine it being anything less than amazing. We ordered the Lexi's Veal Piccata tonight, the veal was so tender and delicious. We are reluctant to order veal because so many restaurants don't prepare it properly or use good veal and have a tendency to be tough, however this dish was absolutely delicious and melt in your mouth tender. My father was a butcher and we know good veal! The sauce and sides were just right. The Pear Endive salad is our favorite and the Fresh Tomato flatbread is perfect with it. Of course we cannot leave out our absolute favorite, dessert! Lemon Mascarpone Cake and Carrot Cake. read more

I have been to Bistro at least 5 times with this establishment delivering each and every time with their food and service . My last visit at Bistro , I spoke to the manager regarding seating for my mother who suffers from a disease in which she is a high risk during the COVID 19 pandemic. I kindly ask if we can sit in a corner and he was nice enough to offer a table apart from the tent. He stopped by during our meal to make sure all was going well , engaging us in brief conversation. Besides that encounter , the food is out of this world . Bistro 1051 is a nice restaurant hidden in Clark. My friends and I went to Bistro 1051 because they were one of the few places we found that still had outdoor dining (they are planning on taking their tent down soon though). The menu is a bit random since it focuses on Italian and sushi but we enjoyed ourselves. For appetizers we ordered mozzarella sticks and the fried calamari. The mozzarella sticks were nice and cheesy with a dough like covering - which is my personal favorite. The calamari was ok but I would likely not order it again. The texture was a little chewy and the flavor was a bit bland. For main courses my friend got am avocado roll and sweet potato roll. She thought they were very tasty. I got the chicken linda which had mozzarella, prosciutto, and a mushroom sauce. It was delicious! It came with green beans and mashed potatoes and was definitely enough for 2 meals worth! My other friend ordered the teriyaki chicken. She also enjoyed it and was able to bring half home as leftovers. The staff was very nice and we'd definitely go back. read more

This was my first time coming to Bistro 1051 and I loved it. My cousin was visiting and wanted to meet for a quick bite to eat before we dropped her off at the Newark Airport. This was the perfect place. We had some really great Italian food. My cousin ordered the Penne Vodka and I ordered the four cheese flat bread. The portions was generous but not outrageous and the food was absolutely delicious. We were both craving Italian which they offer a ton of, but they also have some sushi which we did not try. We ordered takeout sushi and we were so so happy. We got the golden roll, Clark special roll, and a spicy crab roll with miso soup. The two specialty rolls were fantastic, already excited to come back. The soup was so tasty. Everything was very well served. The order was ready quickly and was fresh. Hidden gem in a weird strip mall setup. Decided to go on a little food adventure this afternoon for lunch. Found this awesome little upscale restaurant in Clark. Was greeted by a very friendly staff.
