I already posted a review but it was taken down with no explanation as to why. The place should not even be serving people. The health code violations are a joke. A women who works there touches the trash by sticking her hands in and then goes to the back to help prepare food. A man who works there is more concerned with staring at people then at running a business. He stares at little girls instead of worrying about himself. The food could get you sick. I've ordered from here a few times before and was never disappointed UNTIL NOW. I ordered the Koobadeh combo plate with salad via delivery. What I got was no salad, chicken koobadeh that is rock hard, rice that tastes old and beef koobadeh with no flavor. We ordered a pizza and a bunch of different Mediterranean items such as salad, falafel, spanakopita, grape leaves, hummus and pita all of which were amazing and completely devoured. I ordered the kabob combination #3. 1 skewer of chunky beef (about 5 pcs), 2 pieces of sausage-like ground beef, lots of rice, a side of house salad, 3 pcs of small pita bread, a small side of hummus and 1 small side sauce of tzatziki sauce. The things I wasn't satisfied with was the lack of flavor of the meat and the hummus tasted old. The side sauce was also too small for the amount of meat for me. I like a good amount of sauce. Side salad was fresh but the sauce isn't my favorite. It's balsamic flavor. Cost overall without a drink was about $32. I wouldn't go back for that sake. I would rather get my protein from chipotle. All items were prepared nicely, and each item was very tasty, with the exception of the shirazi salad (extra cost), which was 'anemic' and bland, perhaps appealing to the tastebuds of the locals. The Kabob Lounge in Carlsbad is average but really isn't half as good as the one in Carmel Valley... I love kabobs and this place is unfortunately disappointing due to the fact that their food doesn't taste all that fresh and their service is extremely slow. I have tried this place out 3 times now with essentially the same results, poor service, inconsistent food and sometimes completely wrong order. Overall, I would love for this place to improve on a couple of things as that would probably bode well for the patrons of Carlsbad. Bottom Line: Decent option for sandwiches and dishes with savory meats. I've been to Kabob Lounge a few times and overall it's a nice option to occasionally throw into the lunch rotation. I feel like the seasoning they use is a little bit of an unexpected flavor profile but I like it. Their fries are a bit bland but adequate with ketchup. I've had salads and wraps and I would categorize them all in the "good" category. They have Coca-Cola products which always rates high with me and the indoor seating is comfortable. They have outdoor seating too but I try to avoid it since it seems to always be a wind tunnel and the local airport traffic can be noisy. read more
