We've gotten lunch for, here a few times and the food is always amazing. A great char on the kabobs and the hummus is amazing as well..

I've been to this place a couple of times. The first time I went here I got a really good chicken gyro kabob, which kept me coming back. The second time I requested the same thing, but my boyfriend and I got BEEF. I don't have any issues with eating beef, but we ordered chicken. The third time we went, hoping that we would be blessed with our actual order, we also got beef when we emphasized we wanted chicken. The person at the front that took our order ASSURED us we would get chicken...seems like the people in the kitchen don't actually care what you order and give you what they want. We also asked specifically for the french fry seasoning that they ~sometimes~ put on top, which we also did not receive. The only good thing about this place is the $3.50 draft beers. Honestly worth coming back just for this, but don't expect to get what you order. read more

The food here really hit the spot. Had the chicken tandoori plate that came with pita, hummus, basmati rice, and a salad. The presentation was beautiful on the big platter. More importantly, it was tasty, healthy and well balanced with proteins, carbs and greens. Was so impressed that I came back the next day and got the chicken kabob plate substituting Greek for regular salad, and adolo (sp?) rice for basmati. Another excellent dish. Count me in as a regular going forward. Plenty of space indoor and outdoor for eat-in. Will have to try other items on the menu. Service is nice. They bring the dish to your table. Since my wife is Persian and we heard this place did pizzas with Koobideh kebab on it, we knew we had to try. Now, due to the reasons I listed above I can tell you that when it comes to koobideh kebab it is amazing when juicy and done right, but terrible when dry. So it can be hit or miss, that said Bistro Kabob does theirs right. It's juicy and the flavor isn't compromised by being combined with the pizza at all. I would also recommend adding sumac onto the pizza to give it even more Persian flavor! read more

We have been eating at this restaurant since it was open a few years ago and had the old name as Kabob Lounge. I have to say their food has been consistently good and service has been always great. They expanded their menu by adding pizzas and special bowls, we come here at least twice a month and always try different things, haven't been disappointed. read more

Wow, great meal for the price. I had the filet mignon shish kabob plate. The meat was served with grilled peppers and onions, with a side of tzatziki. A heaping portion of rice, a tossed green salad, and pita bread with hummus to finish it off. Very tasty, enormous portion size, and very enjoyable. I would definitely eat here again. read more

This place looks solid, but... I attempted to eat here, in attempt to get one pizza for two kids (no personal sizes) it didn't work out. I asked if they could only put pepperoni on half of the pizza. The employee said no. I asked two more times for confirmation and I was instructed that they don't do that but no explanation why. I can't imagine they are pre-made, and even if they were, they could take pepperoni off. Place looks tasty but I may never know, we ended up leaving, more principle with the poor customer service/attitude than the pizza issue. read more

Best felafel ever! Crunchy, chewy and a little bit spicy. An appetizer serving of four fat pieces was plenty to share, or would make a light meal paired with a salad. Plate meals are very generous portions of protein, rice and salad, with three or more choices for each. The Tandoori chicken was very flavorful, although a little fatty. Once again, plenty to share or take some home. Fast casual style with counter order and food served to the table. The meal was a little slow to come out on an evening with few diners, so service times might be an issue during rush periods. I had a coupon and decided to try this place. So glad I did. I ordered a gyro plate and everything I had was delicious. The portions were generous, even the salad and dressing was excellent. I ordered something I am familiar with but the menu is extensive and interesting and I can't wait to try some other selections. They have Greek, Persian and Middle Eastern selections. I used to pass by the Kabob lounge location in Carmel Valley. I thought it looked like a fancy place and finally had the chance to try it out in Carlsbad while waiting for my dog's groomer to finish. This Kabob Lounge is ok. Definitely not fancy. I did not enjoy waiting for my food to come out so slowly. The menu and style reminded me of Daphne's Greek Grill (remember this place?)-- but the quality of food was not food. Basically you order your food at the cash register and they give you a number so that they can bring the food to your seat. The falafels are dry. The Tzatziki was too watery. I also got the veggie combo plate. I think for less than 13USD the dish was good. However, I had to pack most of my food up because they took too long making the food. read more

My family and I came into this place on a whim. We wanted some dinner and this happened to be the only halal option in the area. I'm sad to see CYO Pizza is no longer in this space, but on a whim, I opted to try out Kabob Lounge. I ordered a Gyro Döner Plate ("Döner" is just another word for the meat that usually spins on a vertical rotisserie) a little after lunchtime (12:45pm) on a Monday. There was no one in line so I thought this would be quick and easy. Unfortunately they are terribly slow in getting the food out. Perhaps they are cooking it on the fly - or "made to order", but I get faster service in a regular sit-down restaurant. The food was okay...however I wasn't blown away. The long wait may have killed the excitement for me. By the time I got back to work, the food was mostly cold. I would order ahead next time and maybe slightly before the lunch rush. The vibes of this place are spot on! It is a cute place to come for lunch. The prices are a bit high, but for the quantity of food they give it is decent. I ordered the combination platter, and it was really good! I shared it with my friend because it was a lot of food. The food came out pretty quick, and I think it is definitely a great spot to dine in if there aren't any other places around. We were in Carlsbad to see the flower field awhile ago and was so delighted to find Persian food in Carlsbad during our visit there. The menu had so many choices of both Persian and non-Persian food and the fish and rice with herbs and the salmon kabob were both excellent. The atmosphere was nice and it has a very nice outdoor sitting area with water fountain too. The owner and the other team memberes were so friendly and polite. Really recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a family friendly restaurant with great food! read more
