This is one of the best spots in Carlsbad. The food is great, the prices are very reasonable, and they have a ton of variety. The baklava selection is great, the menu is great, just everything about this place is top tier. They even have some good brews on tap. There are few Halal/Mediterranean competitors in Carlsbad but none of them are really competition from what I've had locally outside of one larger and much more expensive restaurant. I love that they have pizza as we have kids and sometimes their friends are picky and the pizza is really good; however it never seems to reheat very well so just eat it all. We come here A LOT and service is always great and when there is a mistake the staff are always very quick to remedy any issues. I highly suggest the combo #1; we split it with a family of four (although sometimes we do supplement it with some sides or a pizza). Every part of it is absolutely delicious. The outdoor seating area is also great with a relaxing vibe. It has a bit of a garden theme and really stands out in this small center. Inside is a nearly useless bar and a couple of tables and TVs with a bunch of music festival inspired art. Bistro Kabob has excellent kabobs with great sides. The beef and chicken kabob plates are generous and they give you a huge amount of rice (enough for 2) and salad or fries. I recommend that you split the sides with someone and order another protein a la carte. They also have good pizzas with a great selection of toppings. I've had the falafel here as well, but I would definitely stick with the beef kabobs. The price for beer was super reasonable: $5 (at the time of writing this) and some good brands: 805 and Ballast Point were available. I love the patio to sit and dine. read more

I love gyros! Here I had the Gyro donor wrap, which included a salad (I did have a choice on that though--fries, salad or rice I think). Wow, so much food! The meat of my gyro was plentiful, even though just a little of it was overcooked (crispy). Salad was excellent. I did eat the whole thing but was wishing that I'd taken a box to go for 1/2 the wrap. One of my family's favorite places, my parents only eat Halal meat and when we called they said it's halal. It's one of the few places in the area that has halal meat, so that's really convenient. The baklava selection is perfect when it's made fresh! I wish they had more desserts like the cream filled baklava, or the Kunafa (request to the owners) The rice and falafel aren't the best, I'm not gonna lie, I've had better. The rice doesn't even taste or smell like rice, not sure if it's being cooked in a pot that other things are cooked in, but whatever method they're using needs to change. And the falafel was too gooey in the inside which I've never experienced before, and I love falafels! Everything else is fantastic. I've been here about 6 times now. family loves it too. Today we just split an order of nice crispy fries and a Bistro Pizza, which was topped with peppers, onions, mushrooms and koobideh (ground beef kebab). Nice thin NY style crust and the kebab was so juicy and had the appropriate Persian flavorings (I gotta taste onion juice in my koobideh or u know...feel my wrath and all....). Hubby loved his gyros wrap and opted to have it with lavash. You get a choice of lavash or CNN pita and as a side he chose fries which were crispy and fresh.
