YUCK! Went here a couple of nights ago for takeout. The only thing that was good was the rice. And the rice wasn't even that good. The food was not good and I ended up feeling a bit sick afterwards and the next day. My boyfriends pilaf was bad, he couldn't even eat all of it which is rare for him. I paid 14.50$ for a steak (filet mignon) kebab and it was terrible. I couldn't even eat it. The meat was poor quality- inedible. I gave it two stars because the people at the counter were nice. I paid 30$ and we could barely eat any of it. Overpriced, bad food. Will never come back! read more

Only giving two stars because the persian salad upgrade ($5 for a family meal) was not worth it. The salad was old (tomatoes and cucumbers were stale) and had no flavor - we couldnt eat it. The portions are decent I will give them that but the flavors for the rest of the meal were not meshing very well. The family meal also did not include drinks (wonder why) and we had to pay up the nose for that too. Just got a feeling like we wouldnt go back for the food. The bill requests a tip (I gave one) but no real service and no one asked us about how the food was - I would have told them). Nice place though and has potential. read more

We went to the Carlsbad location for the first time and definitely won't be back. The cashier didn't know the answer to any of my questions about the menu. We ordered 2 entrees to go and discovered they forgot the salad that was supposed to be included in one of the orders. Also, they put the pita bread in the same box as the meat and when we got home and opened it, the pita bread was completely soaked from the juice from the meat and was a soggy mess. For $30 for two small entrees we will definitely take our business elsewhere. read more

We are on vacation from Ohio and didn't know what to expect, the service was Great and the food was Amazing. We ordered 2 adult and 2 children meals. The portions were more then expected and we left full, with some to take home. The meat was juicy and succulent, the salad was a good size and the house dressing had very good complex flavors. The children's meal are a great size for a 10-12 year old. You must try the baklava, it will be a party in your mouth. The only negative is that we are out of time on our vacation to make a return trip to this little piece of the Mediterranean Heaven. read more

Their falafel can not be compared to any other restaurant in San Diego that's how good they are. tried this place for first time for lunch. not so in love with this place. ordered chicken tandoori plate. rather than get the salad, they said i could sub hummus. but it still only comes with the standard three little pieces of bread. not sure what i am supposed to do with all that extra hummus. when i ask for extra bread, they charge me an extra $1.50. not happy, but fine. when i get back to my office with my takeout order, what do you think they forgot - the bread! i hate paying extra for something and then not even getting it. otherwise food was not that good. not sure what part of the chicken i got in my plate. seemed like knuckles and beaks. maybe i just orderd wrong but i am not going back any time soon. i'll drive a little longer and go to luna grill instead. read more

I ordered two chicken plates to go and the food was horrible. The chicken was so tough and burnt, I couldn't cut through it. The rice and chicken were cold by the time I got home, 10 minutes later. The grossest part was that the chef used the same scissors to pierce the raw chicken as he did the cooked chicken, I watched him from the counter. Don't waste your time or money here. read more

I was super excited for this place to open near my house, but alas after one visit I'll never go back. Yuck! I ordered the salmon kabob plate and the rice pilaf with raisins and lentils. The salmon had a nice marinade but was fishy and had a bad texture. The rice was over cooked and super bland, and the pitas were not worth the cheat day. The only redeeming thing on the plate was the salad...great dressing. Oh and it took like 15 minutes to come out. She made sure everyone's order was made on a timely matter. The food portions are great i can feed 2 people with just one plate. The owner was also there and was very friendly and would check on every table to make sure everyone had a pleasant time. First, I love the appetizer combo, it's excellent and really a value for the money. I'd also like to comment about an experience that I had yesterday - I had a groupon coupon that wouldn't read and the staff worked through the problems and honored the coupon. What great customer service! Getting the order can take a little longer than at some places, but that just means that it's really fresh. Came here today while running errands. Ordered the Hummus app and a salad. The hummus cane with nothing to eat it with... literary just hummus... I questions the waitress and she said that it only comes with hummus. Then she ran the same appetizer to the table next to me WITH A WHOLE PLATE OF PITA BREAD... horrible. I got the boneless chicken, house salad and ostensibly, baklava. The baklava did not make it into my bag at all. Chicken was dry and flavorless, and the was no tzatziki sauce for dipping. I've been kind of a regular here since it recently opened. The food is decent, not amazing, but better than average. The interior is great, very clean and contemporary atmosphere. Most of the time I call in before pickup, however the 2 instances where I ordered to eat in, it took forever to get my my food. We have been here a few times and really like it! It's a nice big inside area and nice patio outside. The chicken is really really good but I wasn't as impressed with the lamb compared to other Greek places. The lentil soup is great and they have good salads as well. Yummy baklava too that isn't too sweet which I like. The girls are always nice that work there. read more

Will never return to this restaurant again. Our family loves Mediterranean food and was very excited to try Kabob Lounge. I ordered online and it was ready for pick-up . I checked the order before leaving and noted the boneless chicken plate had a very small portion of chicken ( I have a growing teen) I made it a point to tell cashier "I would like to PURCHASE an additional chicken skewer" and handed her the original take out container. On the menu, it states an additional skewer is $5.00, but she charged me $6.50. I questioned the charge and she said it's not $5.00 because I'm ordering it separate. This doesn't make any sense, I just spent $60.00 (paid online) for my online take-out and I never left the restaurant and was just adding to the original order. This one boneless chicken plate cost $17.50. Definitely too pricey for a take-out restaurant. Food was mediocre. As I waited for the extra kabob, I asked to speak with Manager. The cashier states "I am the manager", I explained to her that this is poor customer service and her reply was "I'm sorry you feel this way, but you ordered it separately so the machine puts it in that way and I can't over-ride the system".
