Went out to the bars on bridge street Friday night and stoped here first to get a bite to eat and then hit the upstairs bar. I ordered the short rib nachos because they sounded intriguing from the menu description. They did not disappoint, they were flavorful and filling. This was great for a light mean and the wasabi sour cream was perfect, all the flavor of wasabi but the texture of sour cream. The bar upstairs was great too with shuffleboard, arcade machines, and live music. The heaters on the one area were quite hot but other than that it was a great time. read more

There are a number of things that puts this place as a number 1 or 2 spot in phoenixville for me. I love the open space and communal seats concept, the games and the "outside" space upstairs (and games). Very cool ambiance. The menu is very eclectic - which i love, and they offer a number of low-carb options in most categories. We did the meat and cheese board (generous) and shared 2 cauliflower crust pizzas among 3 - they were well executed and tasty (prosciutto & a margarita). Stick with the standard drinks however. The craft cocktails need a more experienced hand but they did a decent job on the generics. Service was prompt and friendly even for a big group with separate checks. Still can't figure out why a place of this caliber can't see their way to offering low-carb drink options. How hard is it to carry some diet mixers like Fresca, diet tonic or ginger ale? I had passed by Bistro on Bridge several times but my first time going in was just recently when my husband and I were searching for a restaurant with outdoor dining in Phoenixville. We were hoping to find a causal place to grab some bar food and drinks, and this restaurant was the perfect fit. Bistro On Bridge has upgraded their second floor rooftop beer garden with pandemic restrictions and cold weather in mind. All tables were set more than six feet apart. They have added several heaters to make sure their customers are warm and cozy. Staff members were required to wear masks, as were all customers unless actively eating or drinking. I noticed a hand washing station in the corner of the room which I thought was a cool touch given the current times. My husband mentioned that he thinks that used to be a bar! While I was there, I kept it simple and sipped on some house red wine. My husband got a few different 6oz pours and was pleased with all of them. The food we got was really great! We started with a bavarian pretzel which was crispy on the outside, doughy on the inside, and served hot. It had the perfect amount of salt! It came with three dipping sauces. I will definitely be getting the pretzel every time I go here! For our mains, we go the turkey and brie sandwich and smoked gouda burger, and we split them both. Although both were delicious, I favored the burger and he enjoyed the sandwich. He said it reminded him of a dressed up version of the all famous Thanksgiving gobbler from Wawa which he is a big fan of! Our waitress wasn't overly friendly but very prompt and respectful. She made sure to keep a distance when taking orders and serving us. She also checked in on us throughout our meal. We came here when traveling for work on the suggestion of coworkers. We tried a handful of appetizers that we enjoyed. We got the duck nachos, mac and cheese balls, risotto balls, and philly cheese steak egg rolls. The nachos and egg rolls were my favorite. For our meal we got the pork belly grilled cheese and the Tuscan burger. We were supposed to get truffle fries but they gave us regular ones. The burger was good. The pork belly wasn't my favorite. It wasn't a grilled cheese, just a pork belly sandwich. We also got a cucumber drink that was pretty good. Overall we enjoyed it and thought it was a good place to grab dinner in the area. read more

I've came multiple occasions with friends to eat and drink. There this one manger who seem to always iD me and not my friends and I think that's racist because all my friends are white and I'm the only black one. We sat at a table with bar stools. Our waiter came over shortly after and took our drink order. The decor was retro, and the staff were nice. I would have given five stars, but we had to constantly call our waiter over for service. She was standing by the bar chatting with her coworkers. I believe she came over to check in once and we were there for a hour. My wife and I had a delightful lunch here. She had the Bistro Dip Sandwich and I had the Tuscan Chicken Sandwich. Both were very good and worth the price. We kidded that her sandwich was so big that she could barely get in the small-mouthed cup that held the red wine a jus. The homemade chips included with my sandwich were seasoned with Old Bay (or something similar) and were quite flavorful. My only complaint was that french fries, which are usually included in the price when a menu reads "choice of sides" were an upcharge of $2. I understand the upcharge for onion rings and truffle fries, but french fries? Businesses talk a lot about the "customer experience". Personally, I think that's just a lot of biz-speak but maybe management should consider our experience with the a jus and the french fries. read more

My 9 year old son left his wallet with 80$ on top of it - he had taken it out because he dropped his water on it and when we called to ask if they had it - they said they would call us back and never did. They have upgraded their location and changed their menu since we have last been there. I will start off by saying this space has really been revamped. It's a cool spot in Phoenixville. The decor is really hip and cool. A great addition to main street. Other than the space, this place is lacking. I sat at the bar and wasn't acknowledged for a good 10 minutes. It was a busy night. I get it. But the level of service experienced was a joke. I even stood up from my chair. Leaned over the bar. The bar staff made eye contact with us a myriad of times but never came over. Never even said I'll be over shortly. All I ask is to be acknowledged. It was actually funny to see how many times we were walked past without being acknowledged. I finally ended the game and asked (a manager?) if we could order drinks. We finally ordered drinks. There is a great draft beer selection and cocktail menu. I ordered the cucumber martini. It was refreshing. We then ordered dessert. Churros. By looking at the plate I had low expectations. They looked overcooked, unappealing. Poor presentation. Everything was literally thrown on the plate. The churros came with 3 dipping sauces (spicy mexican chocolate.. had no spice, dulce de leche, and raspberry sauce... which was JELLY.) The only redeeming quality was the actual churro. I was surprised at how good the churro was. Based on the look of it, I thought they were going to suck. Definitely need to take pride in the plating. Also, these sauces need to be revamped. And plated with more care. We checked out the upstairs bar. Looks like a cool spot for a fun night out. FYI- no food upstairs. Imagine coming to town to visit phoenixville, I know not the ideal vacation spot but it'll do because your family lives here... but then you go to the one of 3 bars open on the night before thanksgiving. (Cocktail lounge man myself) and it happens to be this awful establishment that won't let you in because they don't bother to train their staff enough to recognize what an out of state id is. If only I was a 16 year old with a fake Pennsylvania ID like multiple girls that were excited to even be let in before me. Bouncer in the NC should find a new job if you can't identify what out of state ids are legit. Your company is losing business. Especially in a dead town like Phoenixville. Disappointed doesn't do it justice because i've been here so many times, and hadn't had a negative thing to say until this visit. Our drinks were not refilled, our plates were not cleared. It's so unfortunate I have to update my review, solely because one servers neglectful service, and a comment of "I'm doing it now" when asked to have our plates cleared. The comment was unnecessary. Met a friend for the first time after years of conversation. Our venue was set at this fine facility. Let me see if I can remember at all what I got... there were wings (I think bee sting, honey + spice), my friend may have gotten fries. I definitely partook of beverages! There is a nice size beer list but not that many dark ones; fortunately there was a local porter on tap when I visited. (I see a different local porter on tap as I write this review, so good rotation!) It's unfortunate I forget any of the food that hit the table, because I can't throw a fifth star in there without that - my friend took center stage and I was eating for free at a conference the days prior, so I'll use the excuse that I really wasn't hungry. I certainly enjoyed the atmosphere and I remember liking the food, and I did enjoy my friend's company, so perhaps I will revisit in the near future and see where Take 2 takes me. read more

I have never had a worst experience at a restaurant in my life. Took my sister (22 years old) to Bistro last night. Got carded on the way up the stairs, carded when we ordered. Sat down with our drinks, and a bartender came running at us, screaming, confiscated our drinks, and threw her out for a "fake ID". The manager was completely inappropriate, refused to rescan the ID, was dismissive and rude all because of a crazy server making up a lie on the 1st floor that she was underage!!!!!!!! The manager said he doesn't care about us as customers and threw us out. Most insane experience I've ever had--and I've been to Bistro more times than I can count as a Phoenixville native. We came here for dinner to meet up with a friend that lives in Phoenixville. Nothing too exciting to write here. I didn't try anything adventurous for that I can give a true rating. I wanted to be healthy that evening so I ordered the Cobb Salad. It was a standard Cobb Salad - just as exciting as any Cobb Salad could possibly get. The ingredients were are fresh, avocado was ripe, and the vinaigrette with which is came was very good. I do have to give Bistro On Bridge my full appraisal for their efforts in trying to help contain COVID-19. All dishware was disposable and eco-friendly(ish). All of the servers and employees were properly wearing face masks. Tables were spread out and adapted to maintain good distancing. Props to you guys for doing this. As I look through some of the photos I can't tell if they are from the same place I went to. I know they have an upstairs however I did not venture upstairs. I've been reading reviews about it being a semi formal place however the place I went to was just your everyday bar. Maybe there is an expansion that I just did not see??? Came here on a snowy day for a drink, which turned into DRINKS with friends while in town. It was one of just a handful of places that were open so we decided to stop in. Several people were there and I hear it get crowded. I'm not a beer drinker however after reading the reviews I understand this is a great place for beers. I ordered a bloody mary which wasn't that great and then switched to vodka tonics which hit the spot. There was a happy hour menu which we decided to partake. We ordered edamame and a caprese salad. I've never had a caprese come ON thick toasted bread topped with olives, which was a change. Definitely different and didn't love it. Not enough balsamic vinegar either. The Edamame we ordered seemed to be overly salted. Anyway, I saw a waitress bring out a huge plate of nachos to some other patrons. I asked what it was and they said it was the duck nachos. Apparently that's one of the more popular things to order there. See photo. It did look good. Wait staff was attentive and no complaints there. A great spot in the heart of phoenixville! So here's the deal, they completely redid this restaurant. Years ago, it was segmented into two areas, kind of dark, and the menu was only okay. Now, there's a giant restaurant downstairs and a bottle - only biergarten upstairs. The restaurant is combined with their bar and can get very crowded. The decor is quite nice and fairly spacious. If they're busy, they will take your phone number and text you when your table is ready. Quite convenient given all the shops in town. They do have kids chairs and lots of open tables at the designated parent and kids time of 5-6 PM. Both tables and booths are large. Service is quite friendly, and they gave a great beer selection as well. As for food, the menu is somewhat limited for entrees, but really it's about their apps, sandwiches, and small plates. The duck nachos are ridiculously good, and the large portion is massive. I also highly recommend the crispy ribs, which are coated in a Korean - style glaze. The tacos are pretty good, and tho I didn't have one, their pizzas look great. I've had a couple burgers here, and they're a little greasy, unfortunately. Even a slice of lettuce would make a lot of difference. Good flavor tho. Their onion rings were also overly greasy and not crunchy unfortunately, but their fries weren't bad. Overall, it's a favorite of mine. Lots of interesting beers, duck nachos, and crispy ribs is all I need, and the friendly staff serves to create a welcoming and fun atmosphere. Visited on a busy Friday night at peak dinner hours. They put us on the waiting list and they texted that they were ready for us about 35 min later which wasn't too bad. Ordered the double onion burger and it was just alright since it lacked seasoning. The beef was high quality but incredibly bland. Honestly, I would've preferred 5 Guys or even Wendy's for the price. Prosciutto & Arugula pizza was very tasty. The fries were very good and so were the crab wontons and crispy mozzarella. However, for $8, we only got 3 pieces of mozzarella and $10 for 5 wontons. They were good but not worth it. Our $7 chocolate lava cakes were also underwhelming they were cold (where was the lava???) and smaller than my fist, and the scoop of ice cream was about 3 spoonfuls. Service was pretty terrible as our server forgot some of our orders and then took forever to return with any of our requests. Seriously, there would be 15 minute lapses between seeing him. He was nice, and I realize they were packed, but it wasn't THAT busy. Some of us even paid in exact cash to avoid having to wait for him to come back with change. Very loud inside so would not recommend if you are hard of hearing or are looking for a relaxed atmosphere, but it's probably a lot less packed during off hours. read more

Update: thank you to everyone who helped put on such an amazing wedding for my sister & family!!! We had such a great night and were so happy with the setup, accommodations, staff, food, drinks, and everything. The food was great - we had a few vegetarians in the family and the staff/kitchen were very accommodating. We even placed some last-minute orders during the event that came out quickly which was great. The setup was also perfect, they let us hold the wedding ceremony outside, and the little kids (and adults) had a great time playing all the games. We had a bar crawl planned that we didn't even get to since we didn't want to leave the place! The new event coordinator Nanette was a life savor and she helped us pull everything together to ensure things went smoothly. Thanks again to the entire Bistro staff! If you're looking to host an event here, definitely go for it! The semi-private space worked out perfectly since we had a small group. We felt like we had enough space of our own, and having other people there made it feel like a bigger party. We attended Bluey at Bistro this past Sunday, with my Grand Children who were VERY excited. I made reservations weeks in advance, confirmed reservations 3 days prior, & seated fairly quickly after we arrived, despite crowd of children & adults. Characters from Paw Patrol were amongst the crowd on the first floor. We were seated upstairs, near Bluey & friend who was NOT amongst the crowd. They stood in one place with a line wrapped around the bar, for children to meet & take pictures with them. We were not given any instructions at that time. Until my husband attempted to get into the long line with our Grand Children. They were approached by a man who stated the line was shut down there would be NO more greetings, NO more pictures!!! Unacceptable customer service & most importantly disappointment for ALL of these children who waited patiently with excitement to meet Bluey!!! Clearly this decision was NOT made by someone concerned for the children's terrible disappointment :( AND no consideration for the customers with reservations!! We have been to Bistro many times, VERY disappointed how this event was handled last Sunday. The event was overbooked, staff allowed walk-ins for greetings & photo opportunities with Bluey & Paw Patrol characters. The walk-ins had the same opportunity as our family, who planned to stay for lunch & spend $$$$, despite having a reservation! Next time Bistro... please take a lesson from Bluey... consideration, kindness, respect & thoughtful behavior to the public... most importantly the children who were the WHOLE reason Bistro got the interested response from the public that they did for this event. read more
