The food for me was average but the service and atmosphere were above average. We got great friendly service and a nice Covid friendly tent with a heater set up. The filets we got were fine, although my medium cooked steak and my sister's medium plus steak were not just pink inside but a bit raw. My mom enjoyed her rack of lamb. Well, looks not bad inside restaurant w typical french style chairs. I was a little dissapointed they didn't have crepe as shown on their website. I wanted to taste la crepe salee for my memoire. However the meals were good for us. Sunny side up and saute potatoes, egg benedict, and omelettes w hem, cheese w french fries. This restaurant was known as French Bistro but I think it is American style bistro. I can't find real authentic french cuisine....I found only croque monsieur, quiche Loraine. Ambiance: For sure a 4-5 stars. Bar: Same 4-5, extra credit for showing soccer instead of baseball. Food: I decided on the French Bagel Sandwich, while my friend had the house Crepe,first thing we both noticed how salty the food was. The house salad was ok but not enough dressing imho. The french fries had a perfect cooler but did taste somewhat stale and also had a strange aftertaste? Given that we only tried 2 meals out of there entire menu I would give this 3.5 stars. On Sunday I are here with some friends. I had eaten here once before the pandemic and loved it! This time I have to say we were all pretty disappointed. Service was unorganized and under staffed ( I think) our food came out at different times and it was mediocre at best. It seemed to be a sad day in the kitchen and didn't taste any love in the food. If you have a craving for escargot, this is not it. Escargot are not tiny little pea sized shriveled snails, but should be much larger. The flavor of the butter sauce was fine. The sea bass was extremely overcooked with hard tough crispy edges. The beurre blanc was OK and kept it from being a total loss. No bread and butter was provided, but there was left over bread from the escargot. Water was not refilled without reminder. Basically I was simply seated and ignored. I get that no one is excited about solo diners, but for a $50 lunch I think you could check in at least once or twice. read more

We used to frequent this establishment years ago, but after the remodel, something has changed... upon walking in, you do not feel welcomed, the wait staff seems like they're still in training, it takes 15 to 20 mins before being asked if you'd like something to drink, when it comes to paying, HA... you have to flag them down, or stalk them as they exit the kitchen to hand it to them. We gave up on attempting to order food as that would have been another hour wait... jeeezus! We have given this place multiple chances after the remodel, in hopes they were just having an off night! I stopped in today for a late lunch after an appointment. It was midday on a Monday so unsurprisingly there was only one other customer apart from me. The owner is who greeted and waited on me. I will have to say that it took quite some time to get my food, but that when I did I was very satisfied. Maybe it took some time because the kitchen wasn't fully up and running yet...I ordered the lunch special (1/2 soup, half sandwich for $14). And they had no problem doing that with French onion soup and a croque madame. I am not easily impressed, but both the soup and the sand which were among the best versions of those things I have ever had. I was very satisfied with the food and will come back to try more. Another positive was how friendly the restaurant owner was and the level of service provided. I had the boeuf bourguignon which had a delicious taste, very saucy, so would have been nice to have it served with some baguette. As a dessert, I had the baileys creme brulee, which was good, but nothing extra ordinary. For a creme brulee, it was in texture more resembling a flan. Unfortunately, the menu that was presented to us only had a small fraction of the variety that was advertised. The waitress explained to us that they did not serve tapas until 3 PM, and they were still serving brunch at the moment. What kind of place still serves BRUNCH at 1:30 PM??! I ended up settling for a burger that tasted very bland and mediocre (~$15). My friends paid $28 for their beef burguignon. Loved this place! I don't know how I never knew about this place. The place was quaint, offers live music on some nights and food was delish! As soon as I saw the menu items - escargot, pate, lamb and sea bass I knew we had to come by and try. It was my mom's bday and my parents' 43 yr. wedding anniversary and my mom's brother was also visiting so we decided to make it a family affair. Everyone was satisfied! We ordered the escargot and pate for starters and they were divine! For the mains, we ordered beef bourguignon, roasted lamb, filet mignon, seafood risotto, sea bass and beurre blanc and penne w/ butter & cheese for our child. The food paired well with the Chile Cab Sauvignon wine we ordered. Finally for dessert, we had the crepe and Tarte Tatin! It was a very pleasant dinner. My favorites were definitely the sea bass (the beurre blanc was the right amount of creamy and savor and the fish melted in your mouth! ) and lamb (it was perfectly cooked!) We love the food here. That being said on a nice Sunday afternoon 10/15 it turned into a sports bar. If they had at the very least warned us there was a rugby game that the owners were watching we would have come back at another time. But no warning so it was very nerve wracking with the sporadic yelling at the stupid tv. Was very unnerving and gave me a headache . We wanted dessert but after the game it was sooo uncomfortably loud we just couldn't take it anymore, our nerves were shot! It was a bit cold with all the windows wide open. An unexpected amazing experience at a quaint restaurant. My wife and I made a last minute decision to dine out on a Wednesday night. I pulled out my Groupon and we agreed to give BSG a try. The ambience won us over immediately. Radka, our server, went out of her way to make sure we had a fine dining experience. The food was much better than anticipated. We both had the French onion soup and the apple tart for dessert. My wife had the 1/2 rack of lamb. I had the ribeye steak. Our dinners were superb! A glass of wine was included in each of our dinners and were OK. The food was the highlight of the evening. I highly recommend giving this restaurant a try. They have no gluten free options. The waitress was very helpful and nice but after talking to the kitchen several times, said that the only thing that could be make gluten free was a grilled steak put on some greens. Which made no sense given the steak normally just came with steamed vegetables and mashed potatoes. But that apparently wasn't gluten free. It was clear neither the kitchen nor the wait staff knew what gluten was because surely they had something that was gluten free or could have been modified to be so. I would love to come back here if they could sort this out. read more
