Solera Kitchen & Wine Bar is a hidden gem in Seal Beach! Every dish we ordered was delicious and full of flavor. The Preflight Bread Service, Honey Butter Cornbread, and Ground Control potatoes were the perfect way to start the meal. For our entrées, the Hangar, Wohrman Reserve, Pecking Through the Orchard, and Chophouse Standard were all cooked perfectly and each had its own unique flavors. Dessert was just as impressive. Conner's Closer and the chef's special tiramisu were the perfect ending to an amazing meal. The food, service, and atmosphere were all outstanding. We can't wait to come back and try more of the menu. Highly recommend!

My recent visit to Solera on Main Street in Seal Beach was an unexpected and delightful discovery--one that immediately stands out as a welcome addition to the local dining scene. While simply passing by, I came across this charming wine and charcuterie bar, and from the moment I stepped inside, it was clear that thoughtful design and attention to detail were at the forefront. The interior feels fresh and inviting, with vibrant colors, tapestry-covered seating, and a beautifully designed walkout bar. The fixtures are top-tier, reminiscent of the elegance you might find at a Four Seasons property or the Rosewood in Santa Barbara. Service was equally impressive. Preston, the lead server, demonstrated a strong command of both the menu and the wine list. His professionalism and ease made the experience seamless and enjoyable. Chef Michael's presence is also clearly felt in the kitchen, where dishes are prepared with care and delivered hot and in a timely manner. The food exceeded expectations--approachable yet elevated, and consistently well executed. The atmosphere strikes a perfect balance: light, open, and airy, enhanced by a stunning skylight and accented with fresh-cut flowers at each table. Subtle background music creates a relaxed, conversational tone, making it equally suitable for a casual gathering or a more intimate outing. A small, thoughtfully placed television offers an option for sports viewing without detracting from the overall ambiance. Guests can expect to spend approximately $50 per person without cocktails, which feels appropriate given the quality of both the food and the environment. Parking is manageable with nearby street options, though arriving early is recommended. The kitchen serves until 9 PM Sunday through Thursday and 10 PM on Friday and Saturday. Most notably, owner Brandon has clearly brought a vision to life here. His effort and attention to detail are evident throughout the entire experience, and it's easy to see Solera becoming a staple in Seal Beach in short order. In summary, Solera delivers a refined yet welcoming experience, combining strong culinary execution, thoughtful design, and attentive service. I look forward to returning soon with more guests. Welcome to Seal Beach--this is a standout addition.

So happy to have Solera on Main Street! This wonderful, family run addition is just what Old Town needed. My husband and I have dined here twice now: once just the two of us, and once as a party of 8 for Father's Day. The food is flavorful and fresh. No beer or cocktails available, but the wine list is extensive. Brandon and his wife Nicole were extremely friendly and welcome feedback as they get into the flow of a new business. We look forward to many more nights spent at Solera!

Solera! While it's just over in Seal Beach (210 Main Street, where Osteria Mare Blu used to be), this new restaurant may already be my favorite in the area. It's small (seats about 30 people, including bar space), it's not stuffy at all. Despite super high end food (without prices to match) and utterly fantastic wine list (it beats A PCH for the best wines by the glass), it's not pretentious. Best yet, it's not crowded (yet). Been open for a little over a week to little o no fanfare. - Enter fanfare - While I respect it if others disagree, I put this place on equal footing with Heritage - at about 1/4 of the price. I had artichoke hearts in aioli ($16) which were perfectly cooked but what was really brilliant was citrus wedges that kept the dish from being heavy. It was fantastic. Paired perfectly with a glass of French Chablis ($20) that was (aptly) recommended by the owner Brent. Next I had halibut tacos (2 for $26) with a punchy aji amarillo and a smoky guajillo salsa. Paired beautifully with a glass of La Ferme marsanne. It was beautiful - and expertly cooked. I would have thought it wasteful to put halibut in a taco, but each ingredient sung. For dessert, I had both (yup, I went there) the butterscotch pudding and the pavlova. Chef Michael really distinguished himself here - neither was overly sweet and both were quite playful in using hidden sweetness: most pavlovas I've had (basically a merangue slice) are afraid of it and bury it in sweetness. Not so here - it was crisp with a small amount of cream and fruit. It was delicious and not at all heavy or cloying. The pudding was amazing: it was malty and salty, sort of an oatmeal flavor, with a small amount of caramel hidden inside. Just brilliant. It paired perfectly with a Tokaji (which I had never heard of before, but tasted a lot like a less syrupy Sauternes). The food was brilliant, the place light and airy and the staff delightful. This is my new favorite restaurant anywhere. Will be back often.

What a great, delicious, fun vibe Seal Beach needed this type of spot. Special wine tasting rotate every month. But they have a great wine selections. Wine is one, but the food is top tier. We order the burrata on toast with tomato, thin speck and pesto spread= delicious Speedbird- one of the best crispy skin, juicy in capers lemon sauce=10/10 Our server Carrie was amazing, running around the whole restaurant. We will be returning as regular for sure!

A for effort! First of all, this is a great addition to Main Street, open for about a month now! The decor channels cute French bistro with some beachy tones. The tables are a bit scrunched together so keep your elbows in. No full bar, but the wine list should have something for everyone. My Syrah from the loire valley lost its peppery glory, but such is the risk we take with wine by the glass. The bread trio was a great starter, and the caraway was my favorite. However with the trio of butters was the star of the show: jalapeño butter. No need to change anything about that one. The rest of the food had some problems with execution: my cauliflower steak was quite flavorful but too oily. My friend's duck was also tasty but the skin was not crispy, and the accompanying mole was oddly seasoned with tamarind and cinnamon notes. Our neighbors were not thrilled with their crème brûlée as the custard was too thick and unwieldy. A birthday bonus is kindly provided with a free scoop of gelato, which had very fresh vanilla bean notes but was a tad freezer burned. Service was a bit slow but they were trying. There are still execution issues with the food and other kinks to iron out, but with some more time and finesse, I have high hopes for Solera and look forward to coming back.

The ambiance was great! The servers were friendly and attentive. We tried a bunch of different small plates and loved them all. They were super knowledgeable about their wines and helped us pick out some tasty options. We will definitely be back!

My girlfriends and I visited during the soft opening, and it was such a lovely experience. We snagged a cozy lounge corner overlooking Main Street, which made for the perfect setting to catch up over good food and wine. We shared the charcuterie board, meatballs, and artichoke hearts, and everything was delicious. One friend ordered the halibut, and the presentation alone was enough to turn heads--it looked absolutely beautiful coming out of the kitchen. One thing that really stood out was the wine list. It felt thoughtfully curated and refreshingly different from the same handful of wines that seem to appear on every menu in town. It was fun to discover something new. The service was genuinely friendly and welcoming, especially impressive during a soft opening. You could feel the excitement and care from the staff, and it made the whole evening even more enjoyable. I'm already looking forward to coming back for a date night, and next time I'm saving room for dessert. Our town is lucky to have this addition to Main Street!

Everything was amazing! The staff was incredibly kind, and the owner even came by to introduce himself and make us feel welcome. We started with the fried artichokes, and the Serrano sauce was outstanding just the right amount of heat and packed with flavor! The hanger steak and chicken entrée were both fantastic and cooked perfectly. And whatever you do, don't skip the cornbread...it was absolutely delicious! We had a wonderful experience and will definitely be back. Highly recommend!

We have been there for breakfast, lunch and dinner. You can eat in or outside. They have a full bar and sometimes it gets a tad loud on weekend nights, but it is fine. We just eat inside. The place is clean, comfortable and super cute. It is right in Seal Beach and be patient trying to find parking. The service is great with the sole exception of the hostess. She is fine, but she needs to pay a little more attention. The rest of the staff is the best. They know their large menu and all the drinks they have. You will love them. The food is outstanding. We love their breakfast items. They have a pancake that my grandson loves that is chocolate and not thanks for me, but he thinks it is great. Their eggs, hash browns, waffles and plain pancakes are perfect. For lunch they have some of the best sliders with great buns and wonderful French fries. They also have ribs and all sorts of seafood. We love their fish and chips and they are often a special. The fried shrimp is great with super dipping sauces. Their sea food pots (the BOUNTY OF THE SEA POT)is my favorite) is so good and you can get it as a starter or for your main. We also love all their shrimp dishes. There is something for everyone. We love it.

Perhaps she should ask if the stroller can be stored on the side instead of assuming it needs to be at the table causing longer wait time and then have a condescension tone when asked how much longer. Once we were called to be seated she threw the tablet on the stand and the menus in the table. Completely unnecessary and awkward. Pretty much killing the mood for a simple bite to eat on a nice day at the beach. Then she had the nerve to lie to the manager and say she was cussed at when we asked to speak to the manager. No one deserves to be treated with such attitude. The manager mentioned that she was only 17. I said well hopefully this is a teachable moment for her. The server was great aside from that. Chicken pesto sandwich was ok chicken lacked a little flavor. Prices were reasonable

Upscale Restaurant on 2nd Street with Delicious Food…read more I've visited Saint & Second on multiple occasions: for drinks, a casual lunch, and my birthday dinner. Reservations are fairly easy to get, which make it an optimal choice if I'm looking to have a nice meal. The ambiance of Saint & Second is what sets it apart from other Belmont Shore restaurants. There's indoor seating and rooftop seating upstairs, and both areas are designed impeccably. The food menu changes every few months, which is great because it allows the chefs to experiment with new menu items, but I have been left missing past items. When I returned for the third time for my favorite hummus, I found that it was discontinued for a nice, but less tasty green hummus (which leaned more into an avocado flavor than traditional hummus flavor). Overall, if you'd like to return to Saint and Second, you should expect some changes to menu items every few months and plan accordingly. One appetizer I'd recommend is the tuna on crispy rice. This is a consistent item with great flavors that trump other tuna crispy rice dishes I've had at other restaurants. The amount of fish on this item is generous. If you are celebrating your birthday here like I did, they offer a delcious smores-flavored dessert. However, this dessert is not complimentary, and we were charged without the server informing us of the dessert's price. Overall, in terms of food, this restaurant offers a fresh array of menu items. I believe the server told us that their kitchen is a scratch kitchen, which contributes to the great quality of the food.
