Overall has a good experience here. The food menu is pretty extensive as is the dessert and drink menu. The ramelette was an interesting dish that I actually quite enjoyed. The beef noodles were good with very tender meat. The ramen is not really traditional ramen you would expect, so know that before you order it. The smores French toast was to die for! So rich and delicious. Definitely need to share with a few people since it is quite large. The staff were very friendly although seemed a bit confused about the menu at times. Creative, delicious and trendy yet casual and affordable! We started the meal off with some rose milk tea, a cute little pot with two bubble style serving glasses. It was liquid happiness, warming my tummy. For our entrees, we enjoyed the chicken friend rice and cheesy Ramen. The ramen was amazing and the rice was cooked to perfection. My husband and I decided to try this place for lunch yesterday and I loved it. The food was absolutely wonderful and very pleasing from preparation to presentation, we ordered the Crab rangoon, Chicken fried rice and the Show me the ribs. We also enjoyed our drinks: the Green juice and Passion fruit lychee. Our waitress was incredible and very attentive. I hope they always keep up this amazing and friendly customer service (hard to find in this town). Hidden gem away from loud bar scene. BYOB and they will open and give glasses. Great service with excellent recommendations. Son had tater tot bulgogi. We shared the kimchi dumplings that were made fresh and so good we ordered more. Shrimp tempura was light and crispy with sweet dipping sauce. Husband had a kimchi rice dish that was very good. This is one of those occasions when I wish I could give a restaurant a solid 4.5 stars. Bistrozine is the kind of place that I just can't quite honor with the 5-star seal of perfection but it is, nonetheless, extremely awesome. Pros: Oh, the flavors! Such deliciousness seems almost sinful! (Almost...). I got the Asian edamame and the ramen and both were phenomenal. I do have to say that the edamame was COVERED in mayo (I think - something greasy). The flavor was wonderful but I felt rather guilty about eating it. The ramen was also terrifically flavorful and probably more healthy. Such a fine mix of flavors. I also got a passion fruit lychee drink that was excellent. Service was very attentive. The kitchen was busy and the food took a while to come, but one of the servers came and apologized to me for the wait, which makes them A-OK in my book! Also, I sat on a swing to eat! Totally awesome! Cons: The menu is gorgeous (Beautiful colored pictures!) but offers limited selections. Nearly all small plates are fried so I avoided those in favor of the edamame which was delicious but greasy. So unhealthy. It would be nice to have some healthier small plate options. There was only one salad and I wasn't really interested in it. It would also be a plus to have drinks that are available in smaller sizes. This is not a friendly place for singles at this time, because portions are a bit large for one person. The drinks are much, much larger than I would prefer and have the price to match. Tasty but I hate to pay almost six dollars for drink with no alcohol in it. (I'm old-fashioned that way!) All in all, I'm extremely glad that I visited Bistrozine. I would like to see them work out a couple kinks but, overall, I think this place has a great future! read more

This is my favorite new place in State College! It's so different than anything else downtown has to offer, and definitely worth trying. I've been a few different times, and had a great experience each time. I tried the cheeseburger dumplings, and they were such a fun menu item! You can get great appetizers at a reasonable price. Asian Spiced Edamame--ridiculously DELICIOUS ! Done perfectly every time I've had them (every time I go). Ask for extra napkins!! Ocean Explosion--YUMMY! Seafood paste doesn't sound appetizing but it is! Again always perfect! Bacon Cheeseburger Dumpling--YUMMY! Are these really Asian?? They ARE delicious!! Buffalo Chicken Croquette--YUMMY! Who knew?? Tonkatsu Pork Ramen--DELICIOUS, tender pork, perfectly fried egg on top! Drunken Noodle--YUMMY! Some of the best I've ever had! FRIENDLY! New favorite restaurant!!! My boyfriend and I stopped by for lunch and were thrilled with every aspect of Bistrozine. The food was absolutely delicious, the staff was very friendly and attentive, and the decor was whimsical yet sophisticated. I ordered the short ribs rendang which was nothing short of wonderful. The dish instantly brought back childhood memories of my grandmother's beef rendang. The ribs were juicy and tender and the potatoes were surprisingly light and fluffy, yet crispy on the outside. My boyfriend ordered the classic chicken fried rice which was equally delicious. We also ordered the bright & bubbly and passion fruit lychee tea which were both fruity and refreshing. Phenomenal. I found this place online and was drawn to the Asian inspired menu, and this place did not disappoint! We got the ocean explosion, show us the ribs, avocado salad, and five spices chicken, and every item was flavorful, delicious, so well made. Hands down, my favorite restaurant at Penn State!
