Very good BBQ place but I would not say it is the best around. Atmosphere: This place is on the South End of Old Town and parking is a pain. The front entrance is somewhat deceiving. It appears to be a small dank place. However, once you enter, it is quite large. It appears clean and comfortable. However, right by the door is an office and it was a mess, looked really tacky. Made me think that if someplace the public can see is in that state what do the places we can't see look like (kitchen). Service: We entered at 6:45 to a full house with 15 or so people waiting. Tables turned over fairly quickly and we were seated by 7:00. Our waitress was cheerful, without being silly, and very attentive. The service could not have been better. Food: We had the Smoked Prime. It was absolutely wonderful. The sides were very good as well. Only complaint is that the horseradish must have been old, it had no bite to it. If the food was as good as the name... Look, it's decent, it's fine... but it won't be a return visit until I've tried other options for BBQ in Wichita. What was lacking was flavor. Three of us got three different options: ribs, brisket, and pulled pork. The ribs are MASSIVE so you get your money worth. What they aren't is flavorful. The sauce is a must, and that's a gap. You go for the meat, otherwise you'd you take the sauce and slather it on a hotdog. The guy who got the brisket had a similar comment. Overnighting in Wichita & happened upon the place while driving around Downtown near Old Town. Happy to find a place with fairly good food by accident. Prices are a tad high -- $18 for 2 small sides a 4 "fairly small" slices of brisket -- but the meat was moist & flavorful. We were all quite pleased with most of the side dishes except for the mac & cheese, which compared poorly to the other sides. Add some bacon or additional flavor to this out-of-the-box mix. So in the description they have 18 hours smoked ribs let me tell you this they are touch your finger on them pull apart. The flavor was good. The bark was good on them. I would highly recommend the ribs. The mac & cheese is to die for really creamy. Good quality noodle, but I will say that I did not like the baked beans they were too sweet for my taste. A small group (5) dropped in a bite after so many locals told us, 'this is the spot.' It was just okay. The BBQ sauce had a strong smoky ketchup flavor. If you go on a Thursday order burnt ends Informal dining with great BBQ. My favorite is the ribs. I like to dine in or take those tasty slabs home. Thursdays is burnt ends night, though a tiny bit too burnt for me, they are still delicious and absolutely worth it. Their sides are all very tasty. I like to change my mine up. First time in Wichita and send here from a hotel front desk person. It's a really cool little spot on the very edge of Old Town. I love the exposed old brick walls juxtaposed with the more modern art pieces on display and apparently for sale. Plenty of seating options and lots of room to navigate. As with other bbq joints you get hit with the aroma as you approach the front door. Super nice touch that the larger than life, former-marine looking owner swung by to see how we were doing. This was the BBQ spot I was hoping to find in ITC. Super fast, super friendly service, and fantastic BBQ. The sides were top notch. Went with a 2 item plate, ribs, sliced brisket, with Mac n cheese and slaw sides. Nothing disappointed. Tender brisket. Good pulled pork. My boss got the ribs, and he was going to town on those like they were made out of ambrosia. They have a "condiment" bar, which is a whole bunch of different pickles and some bbq sauce, but it was awesome. The staff was awesome. Yummmmmm! I can't believe I waited so long to try this restaurant. I'm from Texas and I just always assumed it wouldn't be as good as Texas BBQ, but it totally was!! I got a chopped brisket sandwich because that's my favorite, it was sooo tasty! Every bite I was literally thinking "$#*% that's good!" Oh my goodness it was great. I have the 2 meat sandwich and I was on the struggle to eat it all even without the top bun. I also had the sweet beans and they were spot on. I came in to try the Bloody Mary which has a meal on top of it. A Beef rib, Hot link and hunk of brisket make it a very good Bloody Mary. I added the all you can eat ribs with their beans and could never get to the second plate of ribs, which arrived just before I finished the first. I have to say this is the best BBQ place in WIchita and maybe more. The ribs were excellent. Meaty with just the right amount of chew and so tasty. Probably the BEST pulled pork I've ever had. But unfortunately they lose points elsewhere. I had the cole slaw and baked beans as sides. The cole slaw was basically a dairy product. Way too much sauce or Mayo or cream or whatever. You could drink it. The number one ingredient in the beans was sugar. Way too sweet. Sides were also served in environmentally unfriendly styrofoam.
