Went on a Thursday to try out the brisket burnt ends. Seated right away, it was pretty empty. The brisket burnt ends tasted good, but was nothing special. Was really tough. Others in my party had the brisket and that looked really good. My sides potato salad and mac and cheese were good. Had the old fashioned and it came with ice chips, maraschino cherry. We both had the 2 meat combo with ribs - he the pulled pork (which was over the top good), I always try the healthier choice - sliced turkey. Finally made it out here after hearing about it for years. I'm a bbq snob, even lived in central Texas for 4-5 years. I like to think I've had good bbq. I was impressed with the whole experience. The service was exceptional, and the food just as good, including the sides. It's easily the best I've had in Wichita to date. The only thing I might knock is the hot links, I'm used to a different taste/texture. These weren't bad, but not texas style. Maybe that's intentional, I don't know. The cost was reasonable, and I liked the atmosphere. Parking sucks, but whaddya do. Great job, folks! read more

Had a little bit of time in witchita so I had to stop by and check out some BBQ. The food was pretty good overall, but I can't realistically give it a 5 :/ Unfortunately, I did find a hair inside my food! The rest of the flavor was very smokey and nice on the meats though, and everything was a tad salty which is fine. Would I be back? Maybe, but I think I'd try a different place first. Average BBQ, but good by Wichita standards. I prefer much smokier flavor, but Bite Me has good moist and tender meats and good side dishes. It's clean and welcoming, but it's purely self-service - even to the point of having to clean your own table when it's busy. The ribs were good, fall-off-the-bone tender, but not all that tasty. I would have expected more smokey flavor. The brisket was tender, but also not all that flavorful. The side dishes are really great, but when I go to a BBQ place I want the BBQ to be the stand-out item. I'm still looking for "great BBQ" in Wichita, this is good, not "great". read more

Don't be fooled by the front entrance. It's very deceiving and gives you no hint at the wonderfulness lurking in the building. Born and raised on Texas BBQ so the standard is pretty high. This place hit all the right buttons. Great wait staff and service. Speedy delivery of hot food - one of my pet peeves of sit down and order BBQ places is how slow food delivery tends to be. Most importantly the food was great. Smoked prime rib was amazing. First time in my life and would happily eat again. The smoked flavoring was subtle and added to every bite. The au jus sauce was perfect. Ribs were pretty outstanding and rib had a good but slow spicy kick. Potato salad tasted store bought. But that could have just been me. All the other sides were great. Oh my goodness. Let me finish drinking this bowl of spicy barbeque sauce! Visiting Wichita and what better thing to do than to get barbeque. (Not that there are much more to do anyway.) We were seated right away and drink orders were taken shortly after. They are serving temporary menu at the moment due to Covid, but it still has many options, in my opinion. I had the two meats combo with pulled pork and hot links. The combos come with two sides and they have all the typical fixings. In total, our table had the sliced briskets, chopped briskets, ribs and hot links. They were all phenomenal. The brisket has a beautiful pink smoke ring - sign of a quality brisket. The pulled pork was not dry at all. Hot links were delicious with a snappy casing, not too salty, which seems to be the downfall of most hot links. Ribs were as long as the length of the plate but super tender and flavorful. All of that accompany with the best spicy barbeque sauce - a sweet barbeque sauce with the most pleasant kick over the sweetness settles. We loved it so much that we bought four large bottles to take home back to Las Vegas ($12 for the large and $8 for the small, and the large bottle is huge! Definitely worth the money and make an awesome souvenir!) The service was phenomenal. Our server tried her best to keep a thirsty guest glass full and it was good effort on her part. The hostess and the presumably owner stopped by separately to make sure everything was good. Midwest hospitality was definitely not lacking. This may be my first barbeque place in Wichita and I might not know much about barbeque, but I know what good food is and this is definitely it. Now I only wish we have one in Vegas! read more

Our visit to Wichita was highlighted by the great food and service we received at Bite Me BBQ. The ribs are the best I've had; big, meaty, tender, and smoky. The mac and cheese is top notch too with flavorful white cheese that sets it apart from competitor's stuff. Surroundings are comfortable and spacious. The menu is large and varied with a great bar too. I had ribs, sliced brisket, and a hot link, my wife had smoked turkey and they all knocked it out of the park. So good we came back the next afternoon and got a full rack and quart sides to bring back to Tulsa! Bite Me BBQ will be our regular stop and I plan on many more visits to Wichita. read more

We stopped at Bite Me BBQ on Friday, April 14, 2023, in the mid-afternoon on our way back from Arizona to Michigan. My wife read multiple reviews online of several of the local BBQ restaurants. We found parking right outside and there we maybe 10-12 customers eating. I ordered a Warbeard Irish Red and my wife ordered a glass of wine. Our server was very helpful, being we were Bite Me BBQ virgins! We both ordered the two meat combination platter: my wife had the moist brisket and smoked Turkey with beans and coleslaw while I ordered the lean brisket and ribs with beans and Mac-n-cheese. Our food was delicious. The Chef even talked to us since we raved about the taste and Smokey flavor of the BBQ. My wife has the cherry cobbler for dessert!
