Definitely the best spot in town for drinks. About a half dozen craft beers on tap. Multiple bourbon options. I had a yummy caprese panini too. Went here based on stars and number of reviews - big mistake! We were ignored - apparently invisible! Staff was rude - we were told "you can seat yourself if you can find an empty seat!" Really??? And then when we do you'll just ignore us? Never again. read more

You are in the Adirondacks and you expect a rustic, authentic place to grab a brew and a bite. Rustic: yes in a great way. Brew: excellent area crafts and selection of bottled. Bite: be prepared to be surprised. The food is varied and excellent! Large portions. The owners and staff are authentic as you get and very attentive. And if your thing is bourbon or whiskey, try a combo at very reasonable prices. I stop in every time I visit from Florida (several times each year) and have never been disappointed. This is a great bar that serves great food! If you love bourbon and beer, like I do, you can start with one of their pairings (ranging from a $5 PBR tallboy and a rail bourbon to a $10 craft beer and a shot of Knob Creek). Their food ranges from bar munchies (wings, nachos, poutine) to meals (pad Thai, steak, etc). We loved the Korean beef over rice, which was perfectly spiced to provide a pleasant warm burn. Delicious and fun spot! We enjoyed lunch during this holiday week. Locally sourced food and a creative menu - we enjoyed a grilled cheese with root vegetables, vegan chili (and we're not vegan), and a flat bread with goat cheese, kale and butternut squash with a balsamic drizzle. Disappointing after reading the reviews and looking at the menu on their website. 1) First the menu on the website does not reflect the menu we were given - half the items on the website were not on the menu we received in the evening about 7 pm. 2) Since the menu was limited and there was nothing that appealed to me I ordered the Mediterranean salad and crab cakes. My husband chose the hanger steak with frites. We ordered a large order of roasted brussels sprouts to share. 3) The hanger steak meal was good. The Mediterranean salad was also okay. The crab cakes while tasty and pretty - were very small. The brussels sprouts through were a disaster. Hard as rocks when they came out with our meal, we sent them back and told our waitress that to take them back and don't bother with another order as there was no way they would be actually roasted before we finished our dinner. She brought them back anyway within a few minutes saying they were a new batch. Ha! They appear to have been microwaved but were definitely NOT roasted. While now "edible" since not hard as rocks, they were not good. Now - the prices are all reasonable and had the food been better - I would have been thrilled. Maybe it was an off night. read more

Only reason its not less then 3 stars is because of the wings. Came to this because saw a lot of reviews saying it was a good cocktail bar. Ask the bartender for their specialty menu, they didn't have one, they were changing for the fall menu so they didn't have there summer or fall specials available. Annoying but happens, got wings to start out order. The wings were amazing, Anyone coming here should just stick to the pub food, once you get into the entrées they get pretty pricey and not that good. I got beef ragu which came over rice. The rice was completely undercooked, to the point a few bites actually hurt my teeth. My girlfriend got the pad thai. I've had pad thai a lot and this was not pad thai, it was like noodles with a pad thai light cream sauce over it, it was weird and very bland. This was my first time here! Overall, super great experience. The food was amazing. They had ample gluten free options and most things that weren't gluten free could be made gluten free. They also had lots of vegan and vegetarian options, making this a great place for anyone. They had a little bit of everything, without trying too hard. I felt like I could get the pad thai, the nachos, or the burger and would have been equally happy no matter what. I ended up with the nachos (which was actually an appetizer) as my meal. It was so big! I wish my guacamole portion was a little bigger for an extra 2 dollars, but the quality of the guacamole was good. My friend ordered the lava cake, which was good but just not hot enough. Missed the mark on the "lava" aspect. Our waitress was super sweet but wasn't great about refilling our water, even after we asked. We sat in the first section of the restaurant, unaware that there was a back section, and the first "bar" area was super loud. I loved the atmosphere! I will 100% be returning to this place, and I'm very excited to try some of their other delicious menu options. read more

Amazing meal! The paninis were to die for, the service was great, and the general ambiance of the restaurant was beautiful as well. We had a birthday lunch for our late mother. The food was delicious. Chicken nachos were outstanding. My grilled turkey apple and cheese was melt in your mouth good. Love the atmosphere. And on a side note the bathroom was spotless. Definitely going again and again. Worth the drive. read more

Good find. We had terrific meal. The chicken wings were crispy but not overdone. We had them with the buffalo dressing and combined with their homemade ranch dressing they were delicious- yum. My husband had the Cuban pork pannini sandwich which was very tasty without being greasy. All in all a great meal. Kitchen just reopened after several delays. Good food for a bar. Chef does a nice job. I enjoyed my Thai chili maple wings and beet salad with goat cheese was good. They locally source as much as they can. I wish their beer selection included more local brews such as Raquette River or Ausable Brewing. AMAZING. All of it. Every aspect. The staff here is the friendliest group ever, and it's easy to see why. Who wouldn't be happy and eager to serve when working in a quaint, rustic establishment like this?? The drinks are perfect every time, the food is elevated rustic, fresh, and literally incomparable. A friend and I ventured into our town's latest incarnation of the local bar and grill and were really pleased with the direction the new owners are taking. Nice clean decor, more lighting than before, and the bar menu seems a step up from earlier offerings. Saw some friends there at the bar as well as lively younger "kids" in their thirties. Seemed like a good mix of patrons. We're locals, but I think visitors would feel pretty comfortable. We ordered different sandwiches and shared: nice, flavorful fare. (Put Brie on anything and I'm yours.) Beer selection is good, I enjoyed my Brown Dog, but next time I'm ordering The Gentleman Beer and Bourbon selection: Kraft Draft and Knob Creek.
