This new coffee shop is adorable and a great addition to Rice Village! Unlike some of the other Rice Village coffee shops, there's a ton of seating, and I saw that patrons were taking advantage of the fun spot to work on their laptops or catch up with friends. I splurged and ordered a frozen hot chocolate, which was delicious. Note that Bitty & Beau's is a chain coffee shop that has a mission to employ individuals with certain disabilities, which is yet another reason this place is great! read more

The drinks and muffins were wonderful and the service was excellent. I had a hot chai latte with sugar-free vanilla syrup and a warm blueberry muffin and later had a hot chocolate with toasted marshmallow and sugar-free chocolate syrup. The coffee shop is large and open, there is loads of merch to look at as you head to the counter. The service is fantastic and I love the card system they use to keep track of orders. My drink was tasty but I definitely should have gotten a medium instead of large. I like that they had a small selection of pastries, too. I also loved the "where are you from?" map/wall. read more

TLDR: Atmosphere 5, Coffee 4, Service 5!!, wifi 5, accessiblity 5; incredibly helpful + friendly staff, highly accessible + comfortable atmosphere, mission oriented, "feels good" to support Upon arriving at this not very small coffee shop, I immediately was greeted by not one, but multiple staff members, who seemed so sincere in offering their help, yet in a way that was NOT intrusive, condescending, or biased. I smiled and acknowledged in response. After utilizing their restroom, I set my things down and ordered at the counter. This concept uses playing cards to identify orders, bypassing any obstacles with name pronunciation, gender identifying, etc. and being very easy to understand by both staff and customers of all ages; I admittedly noticed that most of us customers were so entrenched in other systems, we didn't recognize when "our card" was called out. I applaud the staff for remaining consistent with it, and not being frustrated by us!! My coffee (mocha first as always) was well made, even though I had a couple not-so-common requests, which about half of other shops in my experience falter at following. I appreciated the manner in which it was served -- intentioned and kind, which is different than many places which are flippant and "too busy." When checking out the Wi-Fi, the speeds exceeded the needs for working or schooling remotely, even under teleconference or university research conditions. There were no problems with the router blocking any of my VPNs. Generally this problem comes up more often lately among spaces which internet services are not specifically paid for. I was there most of the morning, and asked briefly and non-intrusively if my experience was going well/if I needed anything/etc. occasionally. Before I left, I was even thanked for being there for so long! Hold up, a coffee shop that WANTS me to spend more time there, and notices my presence? I nearly thought I was in a parallel universe! The area was very large and easily accessible for all modes of human traffic, exceeding the 36 inches required by the ADA. The temperature was cool (the door was open) so I am unsure if it gets hot during the summer. Everything was clean, and I didn't find much of any dust on the sales shelves/items. I did notice the restrooms, though single person, were bi-gender, and there was not much exhaust (fan?) in the "men's" room for the odors, if at all. This is one of the VERY rare occasions I experienced a coffee place with great Wi-fi that allowed security protocols, had lovely staff who sincerely were happy I was a patron, gave me coffee I enjoyed, and was accessible to all. A pretty neat spot to grab a quick pick-me-up. Friendly faces greet you and even give some great recommendations. Saw some people working on their computers. Coffee is delicious and the place is nice and clean. Instead of asking your name and then forgetting or butchering it, they give you a playing card and you just listen for your card when your order is ready. I am always looking for new work spots and so I have been on the hunt for Houston's most work-friendly cafes. The cafe is very spacious and has convenient parking. There are also numerous outlets in several of the seating areas so if you need an outlet you will likely be able to find one. They also have wifi but I am unsure if you have to buy something to gain access. The cashiers and wait-staff were all incredibly nice. For those who are not familiar with the company, all the employees are people with disabilities and think that is such a wonderful business model. I only tried their iced chai latte. For my personal taste it was a tad too sweet but i liked that the chai felt a little more authentic. I've been wanting to try this coffee shop since they opened, and I'm so glad I did! I came in today with my service dog, and everyone was so kind & welcoming! I ordered a cold brew, which was smooth and delicious. The coffee wasn't acidic or bitter, which is an issue at some big chain coffee shops. They were kind enough to get my service dog a pup cup (cup of whipped cream). She loved it! We will definitely be back when we are in this part of town! read more
