What I ordered - Mistake Parmesan
    Adam N.

I've lived in Bloomington a long time. There have been a number of restaurants that have come and gone. I think BJ's has been here a number of years and seemed like a place I'd like to check out at some point. Going in I knew nothing about their menu, but recent reviews seemed pretty good, so I figured it was worth a shot. We got there just before the main dinner hour hit, so we were seated quickly. The server was nice enough, and we were pretty low maintenance. The menus were difficult to read in the dim light. Our easy early dinner was pretty elementary. A couple of Pepsis, the "garlic and parmesan bread", the chicken parmesan, and the philly sub. Please note the quotes around the bread. I was expecting actual garlic bread. Actual bread sliced from an actual loaf with a nice layer of garlic and butter. What did we get? Breadsticks. Garlic breadsticks are not garlic bread. Period. They're the lazy alternative you get when you order pizza. Quick and easy for a pizza place, lazy for a place like this. As for the main courses, I made the unfortunate decision to order the chicken parmesan. We used to have a place in town called Butch's. I used to get a cheap chicken parm delivered from there. The one I had tonight wasn't really a step up from that. It was a cheap flat chicken patty that was slightly burnt in a couple of spots. If the picture makes it look overdone, that's because it was. Add a minimal amount of cheese and spaghetti that wasn't really that great, and that was my meal. Bleah. I could pay half as much and get far better versions of that. When I was deciding what to order, I really wanted to order the philly steak, but there are so many veggies listed I thought it would be a pain for the server to have to make notes to not put any of them on. I was also a little worried that after removing all of those I'd be left with a big bun and a tiny bit of meat and cheese. I am NOT a veggie person. My partner got that, and it looked GOOD. She said it was, too, as were the fries. On another night I might have had them take the burnt chicken and trade it for the sub. Tonight I just ate enough to satisfy my hunger. It's maybe the second meal now that I haven't felt compelled to finish. Based on my meal, there is nothing that would bring me back there. The steaks might be good. The burgers might be good. The chicken? No good. If it were based on my meal, it would be two stars. Going with 3 because I was told the other food was good and our service was fine. And remember - garlic sticks are not garlic bread!

I came down from Indianapolis with my mother to meet and support my brother. Afterwards, we decided to go have lunch. Since it was his day, I let him choose the restaurant and he choose BJs. I'm a foodie and looked at the reviews and menu before hand and thought Uh Ho! Our experience could not have been further from what I had read! A significant contributor was our server Evan! Great personality, excellent service and an all around professional! He made our experience extremely enjoyable! Each food item that we ordered was on par! We started with mozzarella sticks (perfectly coated and fried), small wedge (better than Ruth Chris), gyoza, calamari (huge portion) and the chicken club. The bonus? Our bill was extremely reasonable! Great job BJs team!

Disgusting undercooked steak. Server even warned beforehand to order it medium well bc of how they come out of the kitchen. This is medium well.

    Burger Sliders with Fries

I got the sliders from the happy hour menu for $7 which I thought was a great deal. The sliders were okay. Our food took 30 minutes to get to our table. The smores pizookie was delicious!

worst bj's ever - do not come insane wait times and bad service the food showed up cold the deep dish pizza smelled like trash i told the servers and they shrugged it off. i'm a fan of bj's chain restaurants but this one is not it. do not come here

Ordered $35 filet medium and this is how it came out. Longhorns is right down the street, now I know!

Paid almost $50 for a small wedge of lettuce a small cup of soup and a small pizza. The pizza was supposed to be a reg pep pizza it had chunks of tomato and barely any cheese might as well ate a breadstick also alot smaller than expected wasn't good at all salad was a joke could've had a toddler make a better one. The $10 cup of soup was the only thing that tasted ok and just very disappointed in the quality of food compared to the price. I don't mind to spend $100 for 2 people to eat but this was the worst I've had in awhile. You got me BJs keep the $50 if you can mess up a pizza then hard telling what the rest of the menu looks like. I'll never be back for your food. Cookies are good though.

On a Saturday night, it was crowded and very noisy. But the salad with ahi tuna was quite good.

GREAT RESTAURANT FOR A WEDDING REHEARSAL DINNER IN BLOOMINGTON, INDIANA…read more================================================== My son and his wife reserved the back room at Farm Bloomington on Friday, June 19, 2026 and it was very nice. Our group of about forty filled the room. My daughter-in-law put some things on the tables which was a nice touch. We had a set menu with appetizers and main course options along with two drink coupons each. The room was very nice, the food was good and the service was great. I would highly recommend booking this room for a large group.

We tried calling several times throughout the day to notify FARM that we needed to change the reservation because two of our guests were ill and would not be able to join. The restaurant's phone just kept forwarding to voicemail. We arrived at our reservation time and were told that we would be charged via OpenTable for the guests who did not join. When I mentioned the phone issue, the hostess said that it did not matter if we had called today, because the cancellation policy is 24 hours in advance. I did not know they would be ill 24 hours prior to the reservation - but whatever. I was not happy, but did not argue the issue. We were seated, only to find that there was a prefix "Valentine's Day Menu". We thought that was interesting because we had researched the website & menu before the evening, and there was no mention of this menu being the only option for Friday (2/13) night. Even the menu PDF says "Valentine's Day" - there were signs throughout the restaurant noting "Valentine's Day Menu". The server also mentioned that many other patrons were upset. The items on the menu were also priced far higher than the regular menu. So, we were excited to try FARM, arrived to a very sassy attitude (from the host) about the party size, noting that I was going to be charged. Getting to the table to see a modified menu, whose prices were jacked up. The (very sweet) server validated our feelings and confirmed that other patrons were upset, too. We finally just decided to leave. On the way out, the "sassy" host was snarky and mentioned that we would likely be charged again for the remaining guests leaving and not eating. I have pictures of the signs, and screenshots of the website - and I dare FARM to charge me for their false advertising. At least note the website, signage, and OpenTable if you are following modified menus or processes, and train your team better!! We were thrilled to try FARM, and left saying that we would NEVER go back. So disappointed :(

Other guests were frustrated with the poor planning and left, but we stuck it out because the weather was bad and, well, we figured a reservation should actually mean something. So here's how the tap came out: It was a busy Saturday night. Easy to grab a high top, but being over 30 - it's not fun sitting on a bar stool. That's fine. The service - like I said, they were busy. But one of my friends never even got his drink, and he ended up telling the waitress to cancel it because we were already eating our fries. The fries - - 4 dipping sauces equals 5 stars! Love the ability to try different flavors and find your fav. My fav is the pesto aioli because its unique! I give the seasoning 4 stars, and it was a little heavy handed, and kind of overpowered the sauces. Texture was good, some were a lil soggy, overall they were good! I've had the other food at the tap, and always enjoyed myself. Definitely worth a visit - but be prepared if they're super slammed!

For drinks, cocktails (and a few mocktails) and a smaller selection of wine are also available. I wanted to get beer but I was kind of tempted by the cocktails. My first choice was a flight that included a mix of The Tap beers and guest beers, but the waiter came back after taking the order and told me that they could only do flights with their beers but could let me sample the beers I wanted to try, so I did that, and the samples were probably around 2 oz each so I basically got half a flight. After that, I ended up ordering a real flight of their beer. The Tap beers I tried were: Kill the Lights stout (regular and barrel-aged), Tapenator dark lager, Frost Bite winter ale, Nefarious Nectar blonde. Guest beers: Jacob Leinenkugel white mocha stout, Weihanstephaner Hefeweissbier, BrewDog Winter Staycation. Not going to waste space reviewing all of these, but they were all fantastic. I was really grateful that they let me sample so many! And they also have food. The menu isn't huge but does have some variety, and it's not just basic pub food. I had the ahi tuna crunch bowl and it was pretty good! It kind of had the vibe of stuff thrown together in a poke bowl, but it worked and I thought the fish was done really well. Our waiter was wonderful! He was really friendly and just the right amount of attentive. My friend and I stayed for a while talking after we had paid and he didn't rush us out at all. Granted, it was a pretty quiet night. We both really liked the vibe of the place. I would love to be back soon!
