We came in for dinner on Friday night. It was super busy inside but luckily we didn't have a super long wait. Once we sat down we had time to look over the menu. Our server came by for our drink order and appetizers order as we took a few more minutes to figure out what we wanted to eat. As someone who doesn't drink soda regularly I always make an exception for their root beer. When she came back we got our drinks and placed our order. I got the sweet and spicy asian wings and my husband got the $13 meal deal with their smash burger and a kids corn dog meal. Now the food took awhile to come out and when we got it everything looked pretty good but the taste and temperature just wasn't there. My wings were not hot and they were heavy breaded so there wasn't much chicken in the pieces. The kids meal was good and so was My husband's burger which I ended up splitting it with him. My sister also got wings that were the same exact way but we did end up ordering the spookie pizookie that was really good we tried before and it was really tasty. I am surprised my some of the mediocre reviews as I consider BJ's stellar on a number of areas: 1. One of the best all around breweries- the line up has a broad assortment of beer styles - ALL well balanced and perfectly crafted examples of each beer style across the board! Very unusual as many breweries tend to be good at 1-3 beer styles but few this good across all beers. See picture for beer menu. 2. Food has always been spot-on and way above typical beer pub food - high quality restaurant with a great chef. I always ask waiter to ask chef for my steaks, burgers, and prime rib as bloody rare and he never disappoints. Wings always plump and moist, never overcooked. I was already having amazing service for my birthday party of 10. Alex was our server and he did everything he could to make me have a great dinner! I was already going to write a review for him but my night was also something I didn't expect because my friend towards the end was having a seizure in their bathroom hallway and Michael the manager and another serve Gary were both very kind and attentive trying to help my table and my friend. They made sure paramedics had more than enough room to make it to her. This night none of us will forget and I cannot thank these 3 BJ workers enough. It didn't start out great and it ended worse. I ordered the Asian salad with the dressing on the side and DH had the tuna salad. Both showed up at the same time, but mine was wet with salad dressing. If it was t completely soaked I would have just dealt with it, but I sent it back. Husband was done with his salad before my replacement came out...still all good. What infuriates me is that we were then held hostage for 25 minutes to pay the check. We couldnt pay online because there was a duplicated Asian salad. We don't eat out very often, but BJ's has become our go to place for special occasions, Birthdays, Anniversaries, etc. We have had "Miami" as our server a few times, and he always takes very good care of us. IF you haven't tried it, try the double pork chop, and pay the extra for the orange glaze. Wrong) soggy bun, tasteless boiled burger, bacon was about 1/2 " wide. 1 piece only. 3 small thin tomato slices, leaf of iceberg, processed cheese. AND THE FRIES-BARGAIN BASEMENT FRIES. I really loved their salad entree, the Enlightened Asian Chopped Salad. Ingredients from the menu: Oven roasted chicken breast, baby field greens, Napa cabbage, crisp romaine, red bell peppers, green onions, carrots, sesame seeds, crispy wonton strips, cilantro, mandarin oranges and honey ginger dressing. I ordered TO GO, and usually a menu online looks different than the menu in store, and normally restaurants dont clarify their Gluten Free options online.I was happy there was a specific section for Gluten Free! The online system asks you to call and order over the phone to let them know of allergies. I felt like that was a safety issue and I respected it. I ordered the Brewhouse Bowl with Chicken. My husband ordered boneless Buffalo wings and ceaser salad. The wait was not long at all and hubby arrived back home with the food quickly. Unfortunately, he was not impressed with his meal and said he wouldn't order it again. Mine was good, not fantastic but good. I appreciated the chicken being cooked properly and not dry or stringy. The guacamole was beginning to oxidize so I would've preferred fresh avocado slices (sliced to order). Overall for my gluten free dish, I give it a 7/10. I wouldn't be in a hurry to order it again but I would definitely give it another in the future. We got here at 6: 05 pm and the waiter didn't get to us until 6:15 pm then she took a while to order our drinks and appetizers. The food and drinks took 30 minutes to come out each time, she would apologized for the wait, but didn't seem busy. Our drinks were delicious though, besides the salmon meal; the salmon was so bland, no seasoning. I got BJ's chicken Sandwich and it is juicy. The ambiance is nice and opening, but the service sucks. As soon as we got our food Danielle brought out the to go boxes. She was nowhere to be found, and took her sweet time in coming to check on us. She kept giving me dirty looks and ignoring me. Like many others, I have been to other BJ locations and have had a fine experience but this time, at this location, not so much. Service was quick to ask what we'd like for drinks and then food right away, so much that we were like ahhh we just sat down, can we have a few minutes? Still came back too quickly for us to be ready. The place was not busy at all, maybe 5 other tables in the entire large restaurant. Once we did order we didn't see her again until our food came out and then it was a quick drop off and it wasn't noticed that my French dip was missing the Au Jus. Can't really start eating until you have the key element to the dish. It took a few minutes to see her again and flag her over. Once I received the dip, I wish I hadn't. It was so salty that it was inedible. So, I just munched on my fries. When she finally came back with our bill (we also had to flag her down for that) I did mention the dip and how salty it was and all I got was "Yeah, I've been telling them today that it was way too salty" and just shook her head. Ahhh how about you tell a manager so that they can remake it so people can actually enjoy the sandwich they ordered? I love BJ's! Unfortunately, this location has been nothing but a disappointment. I normally do not go out of my way for a negative review but here we are. About a month ago ordered to go. Curbside pickup should not be listed as an option because no one ever comes out even when you sign in. Save the time and go in! After waiting in my car for ten minutes I went in! Lovely hostess who told me to step to The side and speak with togo area. They were too busy to greet me as the two ladies were gluing on a fresh set of fake nails. Turned out once they completed the task my ice cream Was behind them melting. I wasn't offered a new batch so took it and left. I didn't want to complain because they are young and as that isn't an excuse didn't want to get anyone in trouble. My fault for not checking my order! Once we got home learned we were missing side items yes multiple. I was frustrated so contacted management. It was at that point I realized he could care less about my order being wrong. He spoke like I was looking for freebies when in reality I was just looking for the items I ordered and paid for. He said he would email a gift card. Never got one. Two months pass by and I went back for another togo last week. Very simple order. Well done burger was not cooked well done toppings incorrect- I've added photo. Once again missing one side item. After about 15 minutes wait and seeing several people come in and be seated, I went to the desk to inquire. He apologized and said he thought we signed in for a pickup. Hmm, different desk. We were seated and brought menus and drinks. I was in the mood for pasta so I ordered the Spaghetti and meatballs. My wife preferred the Chicken Parmesan. After a bit our food came. The plate of spaghetti was huge! And it was delicious. My wife also quite enjoyed her Chicken Parmesan and it was a large portion. I also loved the garlic knots that came with my spaghetti. It contained Altos Plata Tequila, Malibu Coconut Rum, ABSOLUT Mandarin Vodka, Bols Peach Schnapps, Bols Triple Sec, Monin Sweet and Sour, pineapple juice, Starry, and fresh lemon and lime. Overall, it tasted like a Hi-C drink--no noticeable alcohol flavor or aftertaste. Perhaps it would have been different if I were freshly 21, but it just didn't hit the mark. We shared our concerns with our waiter, and I must say, his service was excellent throughout the entire meal. However, my friend's salad had issues; it had to be fixed twice. The waiter was apologetic and didn't charge us for it. We then ordered a dirty martini and a Tito's mule, and finally, some real drinks! They were great, so we decided to order more. Unfortunately, the espresso martinis we got were just like the Unlucky Duck--again, lacking alcohol. It seems like the bar could use a refresher in mixology. What a pleasant surprise our visit to BJ's was. We had last visited them several years ago when they first opened in Westfield Countryside Mall. At that time, we didn't have the best experience. Wow, what a change! We were quickly greeted and seated. If you've never been, it's a beautiful restaurant with lots of TVs and open space. Their menu is massive. Luckily, our waiter (Ben) made some wonderful suggestions for our meal. For entrées, we ordered the Parmesan-Crusted Chicken and the Enlightened Spicy Peanut Chicken with Soba Noodles. We both opted for a side Caesar Salad, too. The Parmesan-Crusted Chicken was lemony and delicious! It was perfectly cooked. (see pic) It came with steamed broccoli and sat on a big scoop of mashed potatoes. It was a huge portion. The noodle dish was delicious, too! It wasn't too spicy and had lots of tender chicken. We would order both dishes again. The Caesar Salads were very tasty. The salads were not a huge portion but they were ample and fresh. As a heads-up, BJ's has a higher price point for it's fare than say Chili's, Applebees or Cheddars. However, the ambience, portion size and service was stellar. The service was speedy and friendly.
