A restaurant we have visited in the past and decided to revisit when in the area with friends after Tuesday Bible study. Arrived about 11:20 AM and were seated right away. Brought drinks and menus to glance over. One of the specials for the day was Baby Greek Salad and 1/2 Spanakopita. That looked great so my wife, our friend and myself all ordered it. We chatted for a little bit and our plates arrived. The "Baby" Greek Salad was no baby. I immediately went for the Spinach Pie, warm and crispy and wonderful, fluffy with a good amount of filling. Everyone loved it. The Greek salad was great, loaded with lettuce, tomatoes, onions, olives, peppers and Feta over a portion of Potato Salad. Also great, but a good amount. So we all had leftovers to carry home. There were plenty of customers enjoying Brunch, but no overflow, probably why the nice shaded patio was closed. No matter it was cool inside. Decorations were great, reminding us of a trip we took to a small Greek island. They also have a great selection of desserts, hard to pass up, but we did. this had always been one of our go to places to eat for years but as of late we have received very poor treatment from one particular wait staff. This woman has consistently ignored us while paying a lot of attention to other customers. Once when my husband asked about a table being available she actually snapped at hI'm. Don't know what we did to deserve this treatment but now we choose not to go there anymore. Too bad because the food was pretty good. read more

Cruising through Saftey Harbor looking for food, we decided this looked like a good spot to grab a late breakfast which is served until 2:pm. We were greeted by 2 people immediately and was told to sit anywhere we wanted. We proceeded to sit outside but that area was off limits for that day although our waitress said that she would've been more than happy to go out and serve us outside. :) We decided to follow the rules as the weekend was still young. We decided to start our meal with Bloody Mary's and for our meal, I ordered an Irish omelette with toast which I slathered up with butter and jelly plus home fries and my wife ordered a Meat Lovers skillet. We got here around 0800 or so. Only two other people and a group of 4 or 5 local hose monkeys in for breakfast. So I knew not what to expect given how quiet it was. We sat ourselves down, as the sign near the front entrance indicates. Waitress shows up right behind us with a couple of menus and asks for our beverage order. She then proceeds to hover over us waiting at the service station right across from our little booth. We both find it a bit annoying and as soon as QB puts the menu down in swoops Server Lady like a buzzard on a dead cat. Queen Bee has two eggs over medium with bacon and wheat toast. I opt for country fried steak and two scrambled eggs. Their home fries and rye toast on the side for me. Oh: did you know they make their own corned beef hash?? Had to try that! Both our respective egg orders were quite well prepared as was her bacon. Steak patty was so laden under cream gravy that I wondered if the Edmund Fitzgerald hid beneath that ponderous puddle! Home fries were nothing to write home about. I like them crisp with onion. These didn't quite live up to the crisp part of the bargain. Since we were practically alone at the moment, I don't see why the kitchen screwed this pooch. Same can be said for the toast...I'd seen a couple of other Yelpers mention stale toast; I concur. Very dry and old tasting bread. Change how you store the bread, Ben...Yuck! Corned beef hash was actually tasty and not from a can of Sysco Slop. Actual slices of corned beef (as for a sandwich), diced alongside home fries with onion and green pepper chunks all mixed together and grilled on flattop. I say this because the plate of it was huge! I didn't think a $6 side of the stuff would be any huge thing. Guess what? I got lunch for both of us sitting in the fridge now! Server Lady checked on us once and then brought a box with the bill. I showed her the Yelp 10% discount screen on my phone. "Uh: how do I do that?" So she runs off and then comes back saying that "the boss doesn't know how to do it either." She knocked off the 10% somehow, which was nice. Some staff training would have elevated this outing to 4 stars perhaps. All I'd say is that if they expect to be better on their breakfast game, there are a few basics they totally need to fix. I've already outlined them in my observations above. We normally go to Acropol Inn for breakfast but they don't open until 0900. Sigh...I am willing to try other stuff here; I'm just not in a hurry to do so. Four of us ventured to Paradise Restaurant for dinner this evening. We'd heard they do a mean breakfast. The waitress came to take our orders & said we couldn't order breakfast food for dinner. Lol. So we examined the menu again. I ordered a patty melt. The food came fairly quickly & was cooked correctly. Unfortunately the food was fairly unremarkable. I really have to say it was very, very average. There was no seasoning or anything. It was basically a burger with cheese melted on it & some diced onions. The potato salad too was lacking flavor. The meals everyone else ordered seemed to fit into the category of just being average. Paradise does get credit for seeming to be very clean inside, & the waitress was pleasant enough. read more

This place is usually crowded and a good spot to meet for breakfast, but don't expect a meal that will wow you. If you're in Safety Harbor, or near-be, there are more expensive and fancier restaurants. The Paradise is what you'd expect in a good roadside deli/diner. Eat here and you'll be happy you did. They do a great lamb shank... but you'll have to bring your own mint jelly ( so they missed on that one - and convinces my that I'm crazy ). All around good food read more

We went in for lunch because a lot of the restaurants in Safety Harbor do not open until later in the day. This place was open and you could see people sitting inside through the windows. "Diner" type place. Seat yourselves we were told. Several tables were empty but had not been cleaned off yet. I just figured they lacked staff like every other place nowadays. If I could give this zero stars, I would! We just had an awful breakfast here. We are visiting my mom, and she suggested we try it for breakfast as she has never been. Do not get the 'homemade' corned beef hash, as it's just deli corned beef with sliced potatoes that are hardly browned or cooked. The service was also awful, with hardly any check ins and the two waitresses sticking at the counter gossiping about their fellow employees. I would never come back!!! read more

This place has taken a very needed and good turn with the new ownership. However, they seem to want to torture their customers with incessant blaring of an AM radio that is ALWAYS not tuned in, forcing us to listen to static. Someone needs to understand streaming music or shut it off entirely. We were in Safety Harbor for the Bloom sidewalk art festival on a Sunday and we were hungry. We didn't know that there were street vendors on the other side of the street and we were having a hard time finding an open restaurant. My Hubby pointed out Paradise Restaurant. It didn't look too appealing, but it was a big restaurant and more importantly...open. Upon walking in, it looks like an old diner that needs an update. I wasn't expecting much. It was seat yourself and it was packed. I had a hard time finding a seat, but I found one. I started looking around at the food and it actually looked pretty decent. We were in an odd predicament as we took too long to find food and had reservations in 3 & 1/2 hours at a restaurant that we knew we would be eating a lot. As a result, we both ordered a salad to nibble on to hold us over. The Cobb Salad was huge and tasty. Everything on the salad was fresh and it was perfect for what we needed. A lot of their heavier menu items looked amazing as they were coming out. We still have a lot of Safety Harbor restaurants that we want to try, but our experience here was pleasant and we would return if we found ourselves wondering the street looking for food again. read more

I've visited this restaurant twice. Once several years ago and had breakfast. Not too hard to spoil a poached egg and toast. This past week we decided to give it another try. IMHO, their New England clam chowder had a strong undertone flavor of chicken. It also had a lot of lemon thyme taste. If I had to guess, I would think they use their lemon chicken soup as the base for the clam chowder. We ordered the spanakopita, which came out with a soggy pastry crust and burned bottom. It appeared to have been reheated on the flattop. It was very dry and consisted more of feta than spinach. Also ordered the chicken souvlaki platter. The chicken was rubbery and had no flavor. I don't think it was even seasoned with salt and pepper. The salad portion consisted of a half tomato cut into wedges, some lettuce and slices of cucumber and red onion. The tzatziki sauce was tasteless as well. The one saving grace was the service. Our server was polite and removed the uneaten spanakopita from the bill. read more

I've always loved this restaurant. I've been coming here for at least 15 years. Today, however, was not a pleasant experience. I'm not a fan if set yourself and this is why. The only table was in the back of the restaurant. Two other tables cleared out after we a sat down. They received their menus and silverware about 5 minutes before someone asked if we had been served yet. They brought menus and silverware and took our drink order. Came back with drinks and asked if we needed more time. Said just a couple minutes. 15 minutes later, we were still waiting for the server to return. We decided to pay for our one drink and left. We explained to the lady behind the counter than no one has returned to our table. They said "sorry" and charged us for the one soda. The mold and water stains in the ceiling are bothersome. Last time we were here we were leaked on from the ceiling. So makes you wonder how they handle the food sanitation. Hope the owners see this and do something about it! Food is mediocre at best read more
