Oh my god. I made a reservation on open table for 8:30pm and we arrived and apparently they couldn't find my reservation on the system or something but wtv. So I just decided to put my name on the waiting list but the wait was gna be one hour since it was so packed today maybe cuz of the world cup or sum idk. Eventually, we got seated and only ordered 2 pizookies cuz it was $5 since it was tuesday, and also, it was only just the two of us. The waiter only went to us once to take our order then another time 18 mins later to say that our pizookies will be out in a bit. He never went back to check up on us or our food again and was just tlking to this guy the entire time i guess he forgot abt us. Ultimately, we ended up waiting 50 minutes because we figured that maybe they were taking super long because pizookies are rlly popular here and its super packed. But 50 mins during a busy time just for two pizookies is unacceptable. And guess what, we didnt get the pizookies after waiting for that long and just left. U may be thinking, "why didn't u call the manager or ur waiter or something?", well we were talking a lot and was just focused on our conversation because it was rlly deep so we lost track of time and were not thinking too much about our food. Until eventually, we realized that we have been waiting 30 minutes but we decided to just wait a bit longer, cutting the chefs or wtv some slack since they were probably worn down for the place being super busy and it was 2-3 hrs till closing which is why we waited the amount of time that we did. But moral of the story is that we ended up waiting 50 minutes for 2 regular orders of pizookies just to not get it and for our waiter to be tlking to some dude for like a good 30 minutes and we want compensation by getting a $20-50 BJ's giftcard or 2 free pizookies and a free meal pls and ty Oh! And also, the table who got seated after us got their pizookies first like whaaa. And we shouldn't be the ones begging for our food because it is THEIR job to serve us. I dont typically use yelp but our experience here was very frustrating. Me and my boyfriend went 12/30/25 around 8pm. We set a reservation for 8:30 and we got in sooner than expected which was nice. Our server was very kind even though she was busy and was very helpful with everything that was going wrong. We ordered boneless wings as our appetizer which were good and filling. For entrees, my boyfriend ordered a ribeye MEDIUM WELL with the roasted veggies (do not recommend) and loaded mashed potatoes and I ordered the smokehouse burger WELL DONE with chili and a child size fry on the side. We waited a good minute for our food after our appetizer had came and we finished it. When it did come, both of our items were not cooked to what we asked for. The ribeye was bright red and my 'well done burger' was red as well. We asked for both items to be remade and waited even longer for them to come out. When the steak came out, it was recooked a lil better but did not taste good. It was very burnt on the outside. Literally all you could taste was like the burnt charred outside. This plate is a 34$ plate for a ribeye that didn't even taste good so we were pretty upset about that but we let it slide which I'm now regretting that we did. My burger didn't come for about another 10 minutes and ended up being more red than the one from before?? At that point, we just cancelled the burger because we were frustrated. I'm honestly unsure how it came back worse than the first time when all I wanted was for it to be well done. I work in a restaurant as well and if someones order isn't correct you should be triple checking that the food is right the second time. I also never got the frys i ordered on the side either but we were tired of it. We also ordered a dubai chocolate pizookie that was burnt, the ice cream is the only thing that was saving it from being disgusting. It was so disappointing for my first time here and it being almost $100 that we spent. We only spoke to a manager once for the steak and I feel we honestly should've been more upset with them about our food. The restaurant was also full of teenagers trying to get the $5 pizzokies so definitely don't recommend coming on tuesday :/ Edit: I'm also reading other reviews on here saying their meal was discounted for not being good which I'm not sure why we didn't when ALL of our food was wrong. Came in to have a drink and a bite to eat after having a long hard day and Edgar was my server. He was attentive and thoughtful. He recommended some pretty good appetizers (slow roasted bone in wings) and made me an amazing drink (brewhouse margarita) to die for, definitely recommend also. Even for a chain, this BJ's felt grimy and distasteful. Although I showed a few minutes after opening, there was already a line and all parties shared the singular server. When brought to my table, I had to request for the seats to be wiped down because there were white crumbs scattered everywhere. While the host was polite, our server continuously forgot components of our meal and we had to wave runners in order to get any attention. This was particularly difficult considering I chose unlimited soup and salad, in which I received my second round 30 minutes after my first. =ORDERED= *Thursday Ribs Special: took thirty minutes to come out and I was given a full rack despite ordering the half. Incredibly dry and tough and the sauce tasted straight from the bottle. The sides were the best, with the fries being crispy and mashed potatoes being smooth and buttery. *Sunset Peach Tea Lemonade: hard pass, practically water. Not refreshing and the peach was indiscernible. *Clam Chowder: on the saltier side but I liked how packed it was with clams. Would get again although I wouldn't have more than a singular bowl. *Chicken Tortilla: tasted like straight chicken broth with some lime. Had some subtle spice but was missing the warmth and acidity from chilies and tomatoes. *Caesar Salad: a chilled classic and there was plenty of dressing on my plate. I went to BJ's for lunch about 1:30pm Wed. because the chorus I'm in was have a fundraiser there that day. They had a lunch menu with burgers but I wanted a medium rare burger and that menu had only smash burgers which come well done only. The waitress helped me out by saying all the burgers on the other side of the menu except the waygu were $12.99 with unlimited fries. I got the burger with the grilled onions and mushroom. I put the aoli on the side, determined later I didn't care for it and didn't use it. Took the leaf lettuce off as soon as it arrived as I dislike it with a hot sandwich, as it "cooks" it and wilts. The burger was done just as Inliked it and the grilled onions and mushrooms were great. The brioche bun was really good with it. Seemed a little greasy but I think that comes with the territory. It was really delicious and if you can't afford steak, try this burger med rare. So good. Fries were yummy too. The kind that seem coated with something, kinda airy. I loved them. Was too full to ask for more. Had an Arnold Palmer to drink-very good. Nice tall glass full. Could have gotten free refills but didn't. Somehow made room For the chocolate chip, vanilla ice cream pizooki. So good! Waitress was very good at her job. Pleasant and helpful. Would return again and would order same things. read more

I've been a beer club member for a couple years so we do come here frequently to take advantage of the great membership benefits. We always sit in the bar and I will admit that the service is iffy but the food is generally good. I think much of the problem is a reflection of what goes on in the workforce these days. High turnover resulting in poor staffing. I feel bad for the employees and the manager who are doing the best they can but don't have enough help. My husband and I try to be patient and most visits are ok. We try not to come when we know it's going to be really busy. I appreciate that after we dine there, we get a survey and can leave constructive feedback. While it's sometimes frustrating, we keep going back so it must not be intolerable. read more

I gave up on BJ's 2-3 years ago because of bad service, a change in the certain item we always got, which was the Ahi salad got which had gotten proportionately scares of the ahi. Then I received a sandwich which must've been sitting in the kitchen before serving, and I could hardly pick it up because the bottom part of the bread was so soaked with the juice of the sandwich which fell apart with a shaft wet, wet feeling. Ugh!. Plus real bad service. So after three different times right in a row, I gave up on them. Going forward my sister-in-law, Judy patronize them all the time and would invite me out to lunch to go there. At first I wouldn't go and then reluctantly I started going again after about a year and things were different. I thought long and hard about writing this review but it was so bad I haven't stopped thinking about it and everyone deserves to know. We're sat at the furthest side away from the front door which is fine except it seemed like our server had multiple sections that weren't very close to us so they spent most of their time helping the other tables which still was fine because I've worked in food service for years and was in no rush. The problems began after I ordered my beer....in the foam on top there was clearly something green and murky but having worked in food service I didn't want to make a stink about it and took a sip anyways. Dear god do I regret my decision. Upon tasting the beer it was clear that there was something wrong. It tasted flat, like metal, and just plain expired. Now that I know there's something wrong I look closer on to find LITERAL FLOATERS OF WHAT LOOKED LIKE BUGS or something else indescribable with the black chunks floating below the green layer of filth. I manage to refrain from vomiting right there on the spot long enough to call the server over and tell them happen. They play it off casually and say "oh they probably just need to replace the keg" and I get another beer that doesn't have any UFOs (Unidentified floating objects) but still tasted horrible and flat like they don't replace the expired ones and just let them sit until a customer says something. Now we move onto the appetizers. We get the spinach artichoke dip and eggrolls. The food was fine but when we open the silverware one of the forks is straight up covered in green chunks best described as what you would call a "booger fork". It's one thing for some water spots or a missed spot but this looked like no one even touched it in the wash room and just sent it out crusted with who knows what. At this point I'm more frightened to eat or drink anything in fear that I'm just eating a bunch of uncleaned, crap filled, food or drink. I thought things couldn't get worse but here I am picking up the ramekin with the spinach dip and what do I see in the side of it? A massive black hair hardened to the ramekin like it's dried on there and has been there for an extended period of time. The server doesn't address any of the dirty stuff or care much that I literally drank a flat, booger, bug ridden beer but still charges us full price for everything. No comps or anything at all. Worst service ever. I wasn't even greeted coming in. Took forever for a server to come up and even ask what I wanted to order, when I finally got drinks ordered, i had to wait forever to even get in contact with the server again. Later on I was able to get my food and then finished the food and was given the check with the food and drinks in the check meanwhile I was never even served the drinks. The server's name was Tyler and it was by far the worst service i've ever seen. I get that it can get busy but he did not check up on us once to see if we needed anything nor were we able to even get our drinks the whole time we were there. I usually tip a descent amount every time I go into a restaurant but it felt as though I should have gotten a refund for the neglect and horrible service that I was given there. This place is absolutely disgusting and should be shut down. I've been coming here for a long time, but after what happened Thursday night, I'll never return -- and I'll make sure everyone I know avoids this dump like the plague. I came in around 9 PM with a friend and sat at the bar like I always do. That's when I had to deal with the bald-headed bartender -- by far the rudest, most arrogant, and disrespectful person I've ever encountered in any business. He demanded to see my ID like I was some teenager trying to sneak a drink, even though he's seen me here plenty of times. I'm older than him, and he still looked at my valid ID like it was fake and refused to accept it -- with a nasty attitude and zero respect. It was insulting, humiliating, and completely uncalled for. This man clearly has a problem with certain people. There's a serious racist and discriminatory vibe coming from him -- he seems to treat people differently based on how they look, and it's disgusting. If management is okay with this kind of behavior, it says everything you need to know about this place. And then came the food -- if you can even call it that. I ordered boneless chicken, and it came out undercooked. It was pink, slimy, and clearly not safe to eat. I took a few bites before realizing something wasn't right. And sure enough, a few hours later, I was violently sick. I got full-blown food poisoning from this place. I was throwing up all night, had stomach pain, and had to miss work the next day because of it. So not only was the service disgusting -- the food literally made me sick. On top of that, the entire restaurant is dirty. Tables were greasy and still had crumbs. The bar was sticky and smelled like sour beer. The floors looked like they hadn't been cleaned in days. And don't even get me started on the bathroom -- it was absolutely filthy. Overflowing trash, urine on the floor, no paper towels, broken soap dispenser, and a smell that made me want to vomit. I've seen cleaner bathrooms at gas stations. The staff didn't care. No one asked how the food was. No one checked on us. No one smiled. They all seemed miserable and unprofessional. And the bald bartender? He's the worst of them all. He has no business working in hospitality -- the way he treats people is unacceptable. This restaurant has gone completely downhill. Between the terrible food, the disgusting conditions, the unprofessional and possibly racist staff, and the fact that I ended up with food poisoning -- this was one of the worst experiences I've ever had. Honestly, I wouldn't eat here again if you paid me. If the health department saw what I saw, they'd shut this place down. Do yourself a favor: stay far away from this place. Yes, it has the best service, considering it was my first time there. The service was spectacular, and all the workers were on point and doing as they were told. The energy of the restaurant was nice, and the environment is great as well. During my first visit, there was a worker who was giving a bad attitude to my fellow people, and I didn't appreciate the disrespect to anyone. BJs is a regular monthly friend get together lunch spot. Everyone is attentive and professional as soon as you walk in. The food is always good and there is a really nice variety. But the service is what makes BJ's a step above. Melanie and Megan are are so awesome. We have had both ladies as servers and can't say enough. Melanie is a newer addition and she is so friendly we always end up getting whatever she recommends (we love desserts). The only reason I am giving BJs a five star review is the service received. Brian P behind the bar was amicable and worthy of a great conversation. He was working his butt off on a Friday night with tickets from the dining area, but made sure we never felt ignored at the bar. I also noticed his kindness wasn't specific to us two girls. He was equally as nice to two guys hanging out. I work in the industry and his service was impeccable. My daughter changed her order after he'd already placed our order, and he made sure she was accommodated. Give him a raise. If I weren't from North County, I'd go visit him again. Great happy hour, we come here often for the happy hour. If you sit in the bar area you have to be 21+ but if a seat is available you do not need to wait. The bar area has a lot of TVs and is good for watching a sports game, and they are very fast to refill drinks. Often they are out of popular items like the avocado egg rolls and the food is just average. And without happy hour it is not worth the wait sometimes on Fridays 1-2 hour wait. read more
