A good place for variety, friendliness, good beer selection and a chill atmosphere... I've eaten lunch at BJs several time now and have been pleased each time. I like the atmosphere and, if you can get past the intimidatingly robust menu, the food portions and quality. My favorite dish is the Cheery Chipotle Glazed Salmon. It's a nice size grilled filet served over a bed of red peeper and wilted spinach cousous quinoa, and with some grilled asparus. It is YUMMY! I've also had the Lemon Thyme Chicken and the lemon Thyme sauce was really delicious. My kids like sliders and mached potatoes. My friends really like the Southern Comfort sandwich: fried chicken breast, sliced ham, apllewiod bacon, Alfredo, Swiss cheese, Dijon mayo...and fries. When I feel like having a 1600 calorie overdose I'll definitely try Southern Comfort LOL. The on-tap brew selection is pretty extensive as well, with several BJ original vrews to choose from. BJs is family friendly and they serve all kids with a baked pretzel knot and fresh fruit cup as a complimentary appetizer. You'll also occassionally find a server walking around with some free app sampers. Today they offered calamari samples stuffed mushrooms. My one knock is their steaks. I just can't recommend them. Tried twice and there are better options around. You can only select from a 14 oz ribeye or a top sirloin. I've had steaks from here over cooked, under cooked and over seasoned with their signature rub. Feel free to try it for yourself but I'm out. A solid 4 star lunch/dinner/happy hour spot with great service! read more

Then there was the chicken tortilla soup...had no chicken but had heaps of salt... Waitress was kind enough to replace this for me with a clam chowder.... That didn't really help much because the soup came borderline cold and the chunks of clam, while nice and large definitely didn't taste right( certainly not fresh ). The tomato mozzarella salad I had with the soup was decent and was about All I ate. The drinks my gf had were also pretty good. I felt compelled to write this because we were passing through town and saw this place had a 4 star rating on Yelp so we figured it would be good..... A cool place in Mobile if you are looking for some decent food, even better drinks, and watch your favorite sporting event. The building itself is very spacious, with numerous booths and tables. There is a LARGE WALL showcasing all of the beers they have available(50ish). The bar area is also huge, with plenty of seats. The food was good for a brewpub. I ordered the Best Beginnings appetizer combo, which includes Avocado Egg Rolls with a special sauce, dry rubbed boneless wings( very good...get the Stiracha dry rub), mozzarella sticks, and spinach and artichoke dip with chips. My top 2 were the egg roles and the wings by far. The others were just average. The beer selection was my favorite part of this place. They brew their own and are some of the smoothest beers I've tried. I got a flight with the IPA, Pale Ale, Blonde, and Hefeweizen. All were very good and no complaints. The waitress noticed how cramp we were with our big hips and big purses and immediately sprung into action to move us. Then when she left to get our drinks the front host that seated us noticed we were alone and stopped to make sure we had been greeted by our waitress and that our drink order had been taken. We thought that was so considerate seeing that after seating guest with their menus and silverware you normally never see the front hostess again. The menu is extensive. Lots to choose from. I chose a lite fare(ahi with shrimp) with water. I was happy they allowed me to flavor my water with cucumber and lime. My dinner companion had Parmesan crusted chicken and potatoes. I'm assuming it was awesome because she left nothing on the plate. I ended up taking most of mine home but I must say the flavors were bursting. So much to choose from I have to come back with my honey. I'm giving four stars because the seating situation is terrible. I saw 3 men hanging off the edge of 3 different booths all at the same time. They tried to cram 6+ people in each booth and it was not working. I can see how uncomfortable each party was as they tried to enjoy their food. If they could rectify the seating situation this place would be top notch. And I'm normally and anti-chain-restaurant person. But I'm digging BJ's! read more

We decided to give this place a try last week after seeing some great reviews. We started with poke, which consisted of chucks of sashimi grade tuna, avocado, and onions, etc, covered in poke sauce. It was served with pita chips. It was absolutely delicious, but I love anything with tuna and avocado, so no surprise I loved it. So many things on the menu sounded amazing, and I can't wait to go back and try more dishes. We ordered a deep dish pizza upon the recommendation of some nice ladies we met while waiting for our table. It was deep dish pizza, covered in toppings and light on sauce. My son said it's his new favorite pizza. My hubs was pleased with their beer selection. He had a Duvel and a BJ's Brewhouse IPA. I have dined in many of BJ's across the country and found them to be very clean, good service and good food. This location is a big exception to that! I should have turned around when the revolving door looked like it had not been cleaned in months but I didn't. I should have left when the top of the table was so sticky that it was apparent it hadn't been cleaned properly but I didn't. Then came the strawberry chicken salad without even one strawberry. I brought it to the server's attention so she brought out a couple strawberries without any dressing to put on them. It's not even her fault. This location must have a real management issue as these are things that are easy to spot. I would say there are better places to eat than this location. Don't think I will be back. read more

What a find for me! I was in the area on business, and working until past 9:30 most nights. Since most restaurants close by 10, I didn't have many options. I finally found BJ's near the end of my stay. It's located in a small mall, so there is plenty of parking. The restaurant is way larger than it looked from the outside. I expected a bar, since it was called a brewhouse, but it has a huge dining room and a large bar as well. Our server was awesome! So sorry, I lost my receipt and can't remember his name. Tall, black man who was so nice. Very personable, great recommendations, and he was so patient while we took a while to decide and even longer to eat the 5 course meal we picked. We even accidentally stayed til close, and he was so patient we didn't even realize. The food was pretty good - definitely not 5 star, but it was solid and we were happy with ALL of our choices. (And there were a lot of options to be happy with!) I loved the avocado egg rolls the best. And you have to end your meal with a pizookie! Definitely recommend the sampler so you don't have to pick just one. Management is also very kind as well! Just today I realized I needed a copy of that receipt for business, and even though I stupidly called at lunchtime on Friday, the manager Scott was very gracious over the phone and was able to get the receipt for me no problem. read more
