It a place I just love to go and it definitely didn't hit the mark! My wife and I recently visited BJ's Restaurant and both ordered the Bacon Guacamole Cheeseburger with unlimited fries, served on a brioche bun with pepper jack cheese. Unfortunately, both burgers arrived missing the guacamole, red onions, and pepper jack cheese, and they were served on regular buns instead of brioche. When we brought it to the staff's attention, the chef reportedly said it was the same burger, just without the guacamole. The burger was eventually returned with a small cup of guacamole on the side. Later, a plate of red onions was also brought out. The waitress explained that she had misheard the order, which is understandable, but both my wife and I had ordered the exact same burger, making the mistake a little harder to understand. The fries were also disappointing. The first basket looked like the leftover bits from the bottom of the bag--some were overcooked, others weren't very appealing at all. A replacement basket was brought out and was hot, but many of the fries were still undercooked. To their credit, the manager came over, apologized for the incorrect order, and offered to comp the meal. I appreciated the gesture, but I didn't come for a free meal--I came to enjoy the meal I ordered, so I declined the offer. The waitress later reiterated that we didn't have to pay and could simply leave if we weren't ordering dessert. The service team did make an effort to correct the issues, and I appreciated the manager's professionalism. I even left a generous tip because I understand mistakes happen. However, the overall food quality and order accuracy missed the mark this visit. I've been to quite a few BJ restaurants over the decades, but strangely this was the first time visiting this one. I wanted to mix things up and watch an NBA playoffs game in a different location than where we were visiting the past few days, so we decided on BJ's. There wasn't any issues with parking, and were greeted and seated right away roughly around 5PM. It was nice to see the layout of the place - There was ample seating in the "bar section". You were not limited to sitting strictly at the counter. Kudos. At the time, the multiple tv's were airing random shows and/or tv's so we requested at least one tv display the playoffs game when it started. They changed it right away which was greatly appreciated. As for the orders. We really just planned to grab a few drinks and appetizers. Ended up looking through their happy hour menu and got a pizza (and later a pazookie). As for the drinks - I ended up getting their BJ's Sweet Sin Chocolate Porter, then later a BJ's Tatonka Stout. Both were pretty good. I just wish they'd from time to time give a sample of their beer that is offered through their beer club. I understand it's by design to get the customer to buy in to become a member. Ah well. One day I guess I'll have to sign up to try it out. Second time eating at BJs restaurant. Came in during a busy time and was seated immediately. Waiter was right there and got our drinks. He came back a few minutes to take our order. Food came out cooked perfectly I ordered the tri tip steak and mashed potatoes. Both were delicious. The restaurant was busy but very easy to hold a conversation. Went to BJ's on a Sunday afternoon to get my bday pizookie and I didn't realize it gets so packed on game days! Waited about 15 minutes before we got a text that our table was ready. Ordered the Cookies & Cream Pizookie with Vanilla Ice Cream and it arrived within 10 minutes. Cookies & Cream Pizookie (3.5/5): I appreciated the generous amount of ice cream - it was very tasty. However, the cookie itself was a little underbaked and I wish there was more mousse Overall, the pizookie could have been baked for longer, but the customer service was great. Flew in for a business meeting and didn't want the hassle of a fancy restaurant so opted for BJ's and for Wednesday night it was very busy. We sat at the bar and we ordered a brisket wedge salad to share with my colleague and it took about 40 minutes. I had to wave the bartenders down and honestly didn't even really look that busy. They were not proactive. They were really just chilling. We ordered wings and they didn't bring it out with the flavors we asked for. Overall it was an ok experience. read more

I came to BJ's in Roseville for an early dinner with my daughter, her best friend, and her mom. Unfortunately, the experience was disappointing from start to finish. The first thing I noticed was how incredibly slippery the floor in the bar area was. I was wearing running shoes with good traction and still nearly fell. It felt genuinely unsafe and is something management should address. Service was also extremely slow. We arrived around 4:30 p.m. and waited quite a while before anyone took our drink order. After that, it took even longer for our food order to be taken, and our meals didn't arrive for nearly an hour. The restaurant wasn't busy when we arrived, so the delays were surprising. What made the experience more frustrating was the lack of communication and attentiveness. Our server rarely checked on us, and there was very little engagement or sense of urgency. We considered skipping dessert because we had already been there so long, but decided to order one anyway. Oddly, we were given our check when we ordered dessert, and then waited another 30 minutes for it to arrive. I understand there can be things happening behind the scenes that guests don't see, but overall the experience felt slow, disorganized, and lacking in customer service. I've been here a handful of times and have had good experiences each time. Timely service and the food is good. Something's are hit and miss. The mozzarella sticks for example didn't seem to be breaded in house. I went with the blacked salmon this time around and it was absolutely perfect. All it needed was a little parm on top. Our 14 year old granddaughter chose this place for her birthday dinner and we arrived at 6pm. At least 30% of the tables were empty but we were told there was a 25 to 30 minute wait. I glanced over the host's shoulder at all the empty tables, he noticed and said they were short handed, but that there was first-come in the bar area. 2 booths were open and we were told to seat ourselves where ever we wished. She chose the one furthest from the door. The table was clean, and the someone arrived to drop off silverware and point out the happy hour menu at the table, but was unable to actually take drink orders. After a while, our waiter came over, Nathanial. A very competent and attentive waiter. He took our drinks and dinner order: Wife; steak salad, water Me: chicken sandwich, soft drink Granddaughter: tortilla soup in a bread bowl, lemon aide My wife enjoyed her salad, said it was very good. My chicken sandwich was way beyond over cooked to the point that it was a chore to take bites out of the near-rock hard and dark crust. I finally decided to deconstruct the sandwich and cut the chicken with my butter knife and fork. Even then, it was a rough chew and hard to swallow something that hard. I ordered fries instead of the coleslaw. The fries were warm at best, not hot and fresh, obviously been under a heat lamp. They were over salted as well. No ketchup, salt or pepper was provided, but was brought by our waiter upon request. My GD's soup was so hot, she had to wait for it to cool, but used my stale fries to dip into it until it did. Our waiter came by to check on us and asked how we were enjoying the meal. It's my GD's birthday, I'm not going to complain and send mine back, but instead told him things were fine and that it was her birthday and we would be ordering a Pazuki later and soldiered through. I had to laugh as I thought about that turkey scene in the movie; National Lampoon where the turkey came out so dry it puffed dust when carved. The way the family gnawed on the jerky-like consistency reminded me of this meal. When we finished, the waiter asked what flavor Pazuki GD wanted and she requested the strawberry. It came with a candle and she was pleased. The flavor was o.k., good enough for a 14 year-old, and it was complementary as it was her birthday. The bill came to $76.58. For a salad, a sandwich with fries and a bowl of soup with a kids beverage and a soft drink. We've spent less at Texas BBQ for steak dinners than that and would have been able to order the same meal at Chick-fil-ette for less and not have to sit a 14-year-old in a bar to enjoy it. The food was on par with fast food take-out, not a sit-down restaurant. I understand prices have increased but there's no excuse for the understaffing, wait times on a Monday evening, or my poor quality meal. The combination was disappointing. I'm only glad my GD wasn't as disappointed as I was, but then she wasn't paying over $75 for what was of less quality than a drive-through. My friend and I came just for Pazooki's. I saw that they serve a trio of mini Pazooki's almost like a sampler. I didn't want three so I was curious if I could order just one- turns out you can! I decided with gluten free chocolate chip. My friend ordered the Snickers pazooki. They tasted amazing, however, it did take quite a while for them to come out. Our server was friendly and kept going back to check up on our order. It was packed for a Wednesday night, but I think that's because of the graduations as we saw a few people with their robes on. We went to BJ's for Dinner on Monday night around 8pm. It wasn't very busy and we were seated immediately. Our waiter took about 15 minutes to come get our drink orders, by then we were ready to order. We ordered our $13 meals. A different employee brought us our dinner. And about 30 minutes later we had finished eating and stacked our plates, our drinks had been empty since we got our food, our waiter came by (1st time since taking our order so about 45 minutes) and started saying things like "wow, you ate so fast" "Wholey cow!" In a tone like we had inhaled our food like 2 starving Victorian children. It felt awkward, and off putting. We ordered our personal size pizookie's and asked for refills. About 10 minutes later the waiter came by and let us know the pozooki would be out soon and he would bring refills when he brings that out.. We got our pizookies and our first refills of the evening. The one star is because the food was good. I took stars for the mack of service, waiting almost an hour for a refill of water and a soda, and the waiter not bringing us refills until he brought out our dessert. read more

There was five of us there two couples and one person in their own party so we split our bill by three. However, when she asked if we were splitting the bill, we made it very clear of how we were and she responded in a very rude way saying I'm sorry that did not make any sense at all whatsoever. Too much is going on. However, when she asked us and we responded, she wasn't even looking at us. She was looking at a piece of paper. We let it go and didn't think anything of it as it is very busy so we let it slide. She took her drinks and she took her order then we never saw her again after that. As one of the couples, my boyfriend and I had to leave, however everyone else was staying. Since she was nowhere to be seen, we asked a different waiter if we could just get one of the checks and we told them what we had. He said that he would grab our waiter for us. She came over and was very rude. She asked us what we needed and I had told her my bf and i needed to leave so I just need our check, before I even finished talking She was already walking away. When she came back, she had two checks. She put them on the table, turned around started walking away and said have a good night thank you. My older brother said oh we wanted to order Pazookies. BECAUSE WE ASKED FOR 1 CHECK NOT EVERYONES. but if she was actually acknowledging us, she would have known that and none of this would have happened. When my brother finished saying that they wanted to order Pazookies she turned around, started walking towards us, spammed her hand on the table, grabbed the checks and said then why are you wasting my time and saying you need the checks? Crumples the checks and slams them on the waitresses station. She then comes back and starts screaming at us, saying that we called her all types of names like broke, ugly, and then looks at my boyfriend points at him, and says that he called her a slut. My boyfriend is the last person to ever say anything specifically call anyone a slut. While she's screaming at everyone of us and pointing at all of us, my boyfriend is the only one not saying anything because in situations like this he is not the one to speak up. At this point, other tables are looking at what's going on at our table and we ask her for her manager and she says I will let her know what happened and I'll go ahead and grab her for you. A couple minutes to go by and the manager is still not out. A different waiter walks by and we ask him excuse me could you grab your manager for us and he goes of course. He was super sweet unlike the waiter that we had to put up with tonight. The manager comes over and we explained everything to her and she is not phased whatsoever. So we had a feeling that this wasn't the first time that this has happened with this specific waitress. she apologized asked if we wanted desserts and we told her we just wanted to leave since we were over the situation she apologized again and said that she would grab our checks for us. She came back and apologized and they ended up actually covering our check. I get everyone has bad days, but the way that she acted was very unprofessional. I don't think that it's ever right for waiters to ever take out their stress or anger out on their customers, especially when we were super nice to her. Tried going in for lunch yesterday at 12:45. The restaurant was not that busy! Lots of open tables and booths! The person seating us walked us past many open tables and wanted to seat us at a very small table that we would not be able to eat at comfortably. We asked for one of the other open tables and was told they don't have a waiter or waitress for that section but if we wanted to wait 10 minutes for a table to be cleaned she could seat us then. Immediately upon arrival, my girlfriend and I were informed that we were only permitted to sit in the cocktail area, despite it being two hours before closing and other guests actively dining in the main restaurant. Once seated, our server took our order with a clear lack of professionalism and an attitude that made us feel as though our presence was an inconvenience. We ordered one Pazookie only. When it arrived, there was a visible hair or fabric strand in the dessert. When I brought this to the server's attention, her response was simply "ok," after which she took the plate and walked away without apology or explanation. Several minutes later, she returned to state that a replacement was being made. At that point, I requested a refund instead. She again responded with a sigh and "ok," and walked away. Approximately ten minutes later, we were given a check for our drinks only, while the server proceeded to socialize with coworkers rather than address the situation or offer any form of customer service recovery. I am unsure of this server's name since she never introduced herself, but her conduct reflects a complete lack of training in basic hospitality and guest interaction. Based on this experience, I will not be returning and would not recommend this location to others. We've gone to this location many times before and never had an issue like this. A week ago we went to finally try the meal deal offered Monday - Friday. It includes a Pizookie. It was also smaller portions of selected menu items. But still enough food. Then a few days later my parents wanted to go to BJ's for dinner. We made reservations for 4 pm. My Mom had her heart set on the pork chops. She said they are the best at BJ's and are only served after 4 pm. It's all she talked about. It was time to order and the server said they were sold out of the pork chops. My Mom asked it's only a few minutes past 4 pm. How are you sold out? Turns out over the past few months and even years now. My Mom and Dad have tried to order the pork chops. But each time they are told it's sold out. Why don't you just remove it from your menu. So you are not upsetting your customers each time. Our meals were good. Server was very friendly and helpful. I am happy my favorite is still on the menu the crusted chicken and mashed potatoes. Happy they let me do double mashed potatoes since I do not like many veggies. Only other issue was their restrooms were not the cleanest and already out of supplies. Need someone to check more often. Especially after lunch rush..in between lunch and dinner is slow. The 1 star is for food, and ambiance/bathrooms. Our server, Alan, always earns 100 stars!!!! The Parmesan crusted chicken, once upon a time, was to die for and I couldn't wait to get it. It's so sad now I couldn't even take a picture. There are no longer 2 chicken breasts, but rather, one chicken breast, cut in half, and pounded out to a thin patty. Clearly in an attempt to make it look bigger, which does not work. It was horrible. The mashed potatoes had zero flavor. I still took my leftover chicken home in attempt to enjoy it. But that was a fail too. The broccoli was sadly the best part. Lol The bathrooms always are honestly a mess and could use some updates, even coat/purse hooks would be nice. Overall the food was good, but so completely overshadowed by the incredibly unfriendly service by the ladies "greeting" people at the front it was unbelievable. We preferred to sit outside on the shaded patio (as did several other people) but were told there was no server. It is extremely loud inside and we actually laughed to ourselves when the server told us it was a pleasure to serve us due to the fact that nothing in her demeanor made us feel as if that were true! I treated my husband to dinner for his birthday last Sunday and sadly we highly disappointed with the cleanliness of the restaurant (used Q-tip, paper coaster & straw on floor) and the quality of the food (prime rib was hardly edible). Service was fair quality. I sent a feedback form into Huntington Beach corporate office, but have heard no response back whether not they received my communication. We had such a great experience here, and a huge part of that was our server, Stacy! She was seriously such a vibe from the moment we sat down super friendly, attentive, and just genuinely made us feel taken care of the entire time. She was always checking in at the perfect moments without being overbearing, and you can tell she really cares about her customers. Stacy went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect for us, and it honestly made our whole visit so much better. It's rare to get service that stands out like that, but she definitely did. We loved her and will 100% be coming back hopefully to sit in her section again! read more

We had the best service ever from a lovely young lady, Kenzie. She was calm, attentive, and thoughtful. Although it was a busy Sunday evening, Kenzie made it feel like we were her only table to care for. The food itself was passable, although I ordered the prime rib 3 course special, I have to say I've never seen a piece of meat quite that shade of gray before. My husband got the full rack of ribs which he enjoyed. What I love about BJ's is its consistency. My goto is the Seared Ahi Salad - sushi grade tuna on a bed of fresh greens, dabs of wasabi on the edge, tomatoes and avocado (they used to put more on the salad so I'd order extra). On this trip my wife had the ribs and filet - pretty big dish for lunch so that's a two meal portion. Garlic fries were perfect not overly garlicky just right. They beer is very tasty - Piranha is my fave. We didn't have room for the pizookie which is great - I've had it before. Only issue to watch out for, not a fan of the parking sitch, cramped and behind the restaurant front doors which I wasn't a fan of.... Still all in all a strong recommend. read more

When we would ask him to go check on food missing he would say okay then start cleaning the table next to us. Unlike their other chain locations, service here was very quick. Their food tastes the same as their other locations, so not much stood out. Very disappointed in this place. it used to be really good, but the food has gone to crap. We had a long wait, then we finally got seated. And it wasn't even longer wait to get menus and our food ordered. Once we got our food, it was wrong. So had to wait to be remade then it looked like it was heated up in the microwave after sitting for a long time. Hadn't been to BJ's in a long time, but definitely don't feel like going back after tonight's experience. This picture is a kids meal pepperoni pizza, only a few pepperoni's and a whole bunch of sauce just looks like if it was poured on top of the pizza. Was not sliced I had to do it myself with the knife. I also got a pizza and had to also cut it myself, and it was cold and they had just brought to table. Had to get servers attention to get us more water since he wouldn't check up on us. Horrible service and honestly the food was not worth what we paid had to pay. read more

Oh my goodness, it's been years since I've visited BJ's! We made our way into the restaurant on a Saturday evening around 7:30 expecting to encounter a wait, but our party of five by was seated immediately. The team members working the hosting station were friendly and welcoming. A minute or two after being seated we were greeted by our server. He told us he was going to quickly help another table and would return to take our drink order. A few minutes later he returned and took our drink order. When he served the drinks he asked if we were ready to order; yes. I had the spicy peanut chicken with soba noodles. For a mainstream chain restaurant they did pretty well. The rest of the family said the food was pretty good. The reason for three stars is because the experience was just average. Average food, average service, and the cleanliness of the restaurant was just passable. It'll probably be a couple of years before we return; but we probably will come back. read more
