I went there for the first time yesterday and wish I would have tried this place sooner. I tried the spinach artichoke stuffed mushrooms and LOVED them and they were only $5. My husband had the clam chowder bread bowl and said it was the best he's ever had, the bread had so much flavor like garlic bread. The kids meals were a good size and $5.50 each including their drinks so not too bad. The only disappointing thing was the deep dish pizza that was not at all what we expected. It's "California style" according to the waitress which means they don't put sauce on it just a few and I mean very few tomatoes sprinkled on and the pizza tasted identical to Pizza Hut except for the tomatoes. I asked for a cup of marinara and poured it in top then it was better but I'd never order that again!! My husband also tried their house made root beer and said it was great. Had a small hawaiin pizza, pulled pork sandwich, and mozzarella sticks. The food and drinks were good, but the reviews talking about poor service were correct. Our server did not talk with us, had few recommendations when asked, and did not the menu items. The menu was extensive and there were lots of thungs that sounded good. Our food was served in a timely manner, but it was at least 15 minutes after we were done when we finally asked for a box and a bill from a different server. Atmosphere: this is pretty run of the mill. It's a huge space with a bar on one side. We came on a Thursday night and the place was packed. Think Cheesecake Factory (I'm pretty sure this was founded or is owned by the same people as Cheesecake Factory) overall the lighting is good, it's not too loud and is pretty comfortable. 4/7 Service: My wife and I were late and were seated with our party promptly. The wait staff was polite and attentive. Once again due to the nature of the establishment, they were well trained and almost mechanicals in their operation. Don't expect anything above and beyond it is what it is. If you are looking for knowledgable staff about beer, go to a real brewery. 4/7 Drink: I started out by ordering a Black and Tan. The restaurant uses their own Brewer pale ale on the drink (I suspect it is really a contract brew and not made by BJs). My drink tastes fine, but I was disappointed by the pour. My favorite part of a Black and Tan is the visually striking contrast between the Guinness and the other beer, however my drink was poured too roughly and the two beers were muddled together. Next I ordered their light lager, feeing in the mood for something crisp and refreshing. Being the restaurants proprietary beer, I figured the brew had potential. Honestly, it may have been one of the worst beers I've ever had. I'd rather shotgun a lukewarm can of natty ice that I accidentally left un refrigerated in the sun for a few days (but that's enough nostalgia for now sorry). I passed the light beer off to one of my dining companions who also declared it an abomination (but managed to consume it in its entirety) I then went for a bottle of the list. They had a pretty good selection of Belgians. For the wine-o's out there, the wine is reasonably priced and they proudly pour 7 oz (be careful ladies)! Also you can get a mini bottle of Chandon for 9$ (we did duh). 3.5/7 Food: this menu is huge and eclectic, lots of pasta dishes, sandwiches, burgers etc. there was not a whole lot for vegetarians here and I found some the selections interesting (half the food would not pair well with beer, the supposed theme of the place). I went with fish and chips which was average. My wife got salmon and quinoa which looked alright. Prices were reasonable. Everyone was happy. Truly nothing special though. 3.5/7 Overall: if I want craft beer, there are at least twenty cooler places in Columbus. If I want pub fare, the food here can easily be topped. What this establishment does achieve is providing a good place for a group of people with a wide range of tastes. I used to visit the Tampa location years ago and wasn't really impressed with any of their menu items. When I came to Ohio I heard about all the fuzz and the long lines at the Tuttle location. I've visited the Tuttle location a few times and nothing on the menu (except for the beer selection) seems to impress me. I'd stick to beer and appetizers. I know they also have some cheap lunch specials and the place isn't crowded for lunch at all. read more

I visited BJ's multiple times while in town for business and enjoyed experience! They have a diverse array of their own local brews plus a full line-up of national and regional beers. The food menu, like the beer, has so many options that you're bound to find something to your liking. Try the Atlantic Salmon dinner or the turkey bacon sandwich for lunch. Both are great! I've been here multiple times and have never been too satisfied with the quality of the food. On my last visit I had "Deep dish lasagna" and the description said it had Italian sausage in it. I only found one piece of sausage in it and it seemed to just be ravioli with sauce on time. On my previous visit the service was mediocre too. The ambience of the place is really nice. Can't say the same about the food although the in house beers are really nice. The food that i ordered or my friends ordered was not so great. It may be a case that we ordered wrong things. The beat thing was Avocado rolls and the pizookie in deserts. I ordered ribs, Brussel sprouts, spinach stuffed mushrooms and their speciality New Orleans Jambalaya and all of them were disappointing. We almost left the food untouched. My family and I were in town on vacation and this place came highly recommended by a friend who once frequented the area. I was told we had to try the pizooki (sp?) and the hand crafted sodas. Tonight we went in there fully anticipating a great experience and instead we were greatly disappointed. We were quickly seated in the bar area at a booth and waited and waited and waited... at one point a server came and got the bill from a previous customer at the booth but never said a word to us.... we waited some more. Well 15 minutes went by after we were seated and no one spoke to us, not a "I'll be right with you," " can I get you some waters," nothing. We left, as we were leaving, the server forgot where she seated us and other than asking if we wanted a manager never tried to stop us from leaving. So instead we went across the street to Red Robin, had a great experience and we were taken care of very well. I tried to call BJ's to speak to a manager while we were relaxing at Red Robin and was on hold for 5 minutes before someone finally came on and told me he was unavailable. This is not the way customers should be treated, and because of this experience it has left a bad taste in my mouth for the entire franchise. read more

I ordered the roast beef dip sandwich, and it didn't taste as good as I had hoped. The horseradish sauce that came for dipping (kind of) redeemed the flavor. Their fries were delicious, though. We had dinner here about a month and a half ago- it was our first time dining in- had been to the location in Charlottsville, VA for take out several times and the service and food there have always been good- the service here was good- however the appetizer plates had food on the bottom- pretty gross by any standards- we didn't complain or mention it to our waitress as we didn't want to ruin her day (they were pretty busy) and things like that can throw off a waitress- so instead I posted the issues to the company directly on the website- go nothing from them- feedback is important to business and should be replied to- especially when the customer doesn't feel that the establishment was represented well based on the experience had- it is very disappointing to take time and go to the website and let the company know your experience and get no response from them- something as simple as an auto generated email goes a long way when a customer post to your website directly instead of going public with the issues- not sure what is happening with companies these days but it is clear that customer service isn't one of them read more

Matt the manger didn't handle any situation that we had. 8 guests walk one of them had a birthday. His girlfriend her steak came out not the way it is suppose to get cooked. The second round came just the steak no sides. My food had a piece of hair in it. I did not get competed for it I had to pay for my meal. Even although I did not eat my meal. Matt the manger came out drilled my friend girlfriend on how we should have handled the situation. It was all unpleasant... Had dinner here last night and while the atmosphere was pretty ok, the food was so/so. The waitress, who was real great I might add, gushed over the deep dish pizzas. So, since the menu is Cheesecake Factory size, I decided to give the Five Meat pizza a try. Lots of meat on top, decent crust, but otherwise flavorless - needed way more sauce and cheese. So, if u order one - ask for extra sauce!! The beers are pretty good, not too many of the nasty overpowering IPAs..... Would give it a try again. read more

Came in for lunch today with a group. Servers were nice and attentive. However there was a mix up with the order. So I waited for the revised dish and I guess because they were trying to turn it around quickly they didn't cook the pasta long enough (or reheated the first batch too long) and it came out hard and just couldn't really be eaten. Kind of a bummer, but here's the thing that turned it around - without a complaint or an ask, the manager took it off the bill. Such great service that it's hard to leave unhappy! I know the beer is good and and the atmosphere is nice, so we are sure to be back now. read more

Went here last night with some girl friends. We had salads and a flatbread pizza that were delicious. Apparently, though this is a Brewhouse, you can only have two beers, because our waiter pretended like he didn't hear me when I asked for another beer and continued to offer me water like I was drunk or something. That was really disappointing because I LOVE draft beer. I was with my friends and we were being a little loud, but I was certainly not over-served with two beers in the 3 hours we were there. I ordered a buffalo chicken pizza to go for my fiancé. We were both disappointed when I got home and the $25 pizza he was looking forward to had NO CHICKEN! Surprise! Wing sauce and celery only! Overall his was a good experience. The place was very clean. The service was above average. I go a burger with no bun and they added portabella mushroom with out me asking. It was VERY good. The fries were just ok. The kids got ribs and they thought they were fantastic. Also had a wedge salad and it was average at best. The other thing we ordered was a entree salad with ahi tuna. Sub par, low quality food for the price. Ordered brisket burger, it's more dry hamburger than brisket. We also had white cheddar potatoes, no flavor. Our waitress said the potatoes were premade and shipped. For the price, they should be made in house. Nothing should be prepackaged. I got Yelp just take make a review for this location. I go out to eat a lot and all the places around Columbus are usually decent. Nothing you could really give a 1 star review for but this place deserves a 1 star more than I can even communicate. Horrible staff from manager down, terrible food, overpriced, and just all around not worth your time. I got Jambalaya that was cold, water with no ice, orange soda with no ice, and artichoke dip that looked like it was from a previous serving watered down. The waitress was very rude and only came to refill with the check. The seats are way too close to the door so during the winter you get a freezing draft. The manager is too busy laughing and joking with staff to realize the place is complete chaos, I saw a guy waving his empty beer for over a minute at the manager before he got up and walked out. I would not recommend this location, not sure what others are like and will not find out. Only good thing that came from our visit is I got a Yelp and can now review the places I do enjoy and occasionally if need be leave a precautionary review for a place like Bjs. I think they call this place Bjs because it blows. read more

Cheap lunch, huge menu, iffy service. If you go during lunch hours during the week you can get decent service but going for dinner or any other time of the week forget about it. Lots of the wait staff seem very young or inexperienced. More importantly there seems to be a disconnect between management and table waiting. It took my friends group 15 mins to get drinks and 45 mins to get appetizers for dinner. On a positive note, did I mention the menu? Beer selection is fairly decent as well. read more

Went here tonight with some new friends. Their clam chowder in the bread bowl was excellent. I like how they made the bread bowl crunchy. Excellent food and service. I also like their mobile app. We were able to use the app to put us on waiting list for seats. A friend of mine loves to go here for happy hour. So I have been here quite a few times. I wouldn't say that it is an amazing place or anything really sticks out that I would rave about. However, the last time I went there (2/26/15) the service was great, drinks were perfect, and food was good. It is a good place to check out if you haven't been there before. The food was overcooked, cold and very slow service...because they were too busy watching the game on TV. Out of 8 meals in our party, only 2 were good enough/correct enough to eat. Food is good but service isn't great and they do not have wifi, hello it's almost 2012 get it together. Returning to the service, My waitress was obvioulsy challanged becasue she had no clue what the specials were for the day, she had to go find out and told us it was $1 off drafts I then asked her about the food specials that I saw on the table tent menu, she replied, "ohh those are specials I guess also". When our food arrived she dropped our bill automatically. I told her we were going to eat more and have drinks and watch the NFL games so she then took the bill. About an 30 minutes after we finished our half priced mini pizzas and had a few more beers, I ordered another mini pizza. She put my order in and then came back within 3 minutes and handed me the bill again, I then asked are you leaving or something? Which she said she wasnt but I felt rushed and not welcomed when we were ordering plenty of food and drinks. I then just told her to box my food up and that we were leaving. I pulled the manager aside and asked why she had dropped my check off twice already before we had even touched our food and recieved the 2nd portion of it. He stated that is what they do during lunch, I told him it was Sunday people are in here to eat and watch games and it wasnt very good for bussiness in my opinion. Also they had no wifi in the place and have no plan to have it for their customers, well BJ's is out for work lunch work meetings. I will give BJ's a 3 star becasue this location is fairly new, the food was good, and the beer was good also. I hope BJ's can get it together for my next trip. read more
