I've been here twice, the first time our service was good and food was good, nothing amazing. Second trip was a terrible experience, I ordered a Medium Rare steak with a house salad, my friend ordered Lasagna with a wedge salad. Taylor was our server and after 20 minutes we had to ask a waiter in passing to check on our salads, he turned out to be the only helpful person during our visit. Our waitress returned a few minutes later with our salads and rather than acting apologetic she had an attitude. My friend and I are restaurant managers, we are never unfriendly or deserving of attitude. My house salad was a Caesar salad with ranch dressing, the waitress disagreed and responded that she just made it herself and it was a house salad with ranch. Unless their house salad is romaine lettuce with croutons and shaved Parmesan only, then she was wrong. When my steak came out it was well-done, I mentioned it to her and she rolled her eyes. So I decided I just wanted out of the restaurant. I ate my steak and we finished our meals before she even mentioned the issue to a manager. The manager did comp my steak - but my issue wasn't about the money. I would rather pay for a good experience than have a free bad experience. read more

We arrived at 2:30 on Saturday after taking in a morning show at the circus. The wait for a table was short, as expected at that time of day. My dad ordered one of their black cherry sodas. The waitress returned to say they were out. I ordered a Goose Island Sophie. The waitress returned to say they were out of that, too. Even though the place was empty, the food took absurdly long to arrive. When the food finally did come, my youngest son's food was missing. That took another five minutes. So all in all, about 35 minutes for freaking kids chicken tenders and fries. The order of mozzarella sticks had a napkin between them and the plate. I assume this is to catch some of the grease. Except when you pull one up from the plate, now your mozzarella stick has paper napkin all over it. I snagged a piece of my wife's pizza. Very underwhelming with a gummy crust. There are just too many other places in Clear Lake to get decent food. We won't be back. read more

I had a great experience here! I sat at the bar, where there were plenty of available seats, so I didn't have to wait at all. The bartender quickly came over to give me a menu and take my drink order. He was very pleasant and helpful, and he accommodated me by waiting to make my drink until the food arrived. I decided to get the Grilled Chicken with Chimichurri, Green Beans, and Sweet Potato Fries, as well as a Moscow Mule. The Mule was delicious, and it was appropriately served in a copper mug. (I've been places where they serve it in a glass, and that totally ruins the drink for me.) The food is where they lost one star. Although the chicken was cooked well, it lacked seasoning. The Chimichurri helped, but I still had to add my own salt and pepper, which isn't ideal. The green beans were under cooked, rubbery, and also under-seasoned, but I ate them anyways. (Gotta eat your veggies!) The sweet potato fries, however, were delicious, especially with some of the flavor from the Chimichurri soaked into them. When I was done with my meal my server paid me out quickly and thanked me for coming in. Overall I would give the service here 5 stars and the food 4 stars. I would definitely come back. read more

We were at the restaurant for three hours. Waited for 30 minutes for our table even though the place was a third full. It took 30 minutes for the waiter to come and took the order, `15 minutes later the water and drink arrived. 40 minutes after we finished our meal the waiter came and took the desert order, took 15 minutes for our desert to arrive. 30 minutes later , the waiter finally showed up and refilled our drink and gave us the check. He never refilled our drink until the last minute, gave us a sweet smile and a sincere apology, I suppose expecting a good tip for non-service. Food is mediocre to the best. The people at the tables next to us waited longer for their food. They were there before we arrived and were still there when we left. If you have small children, do not go, they would not last that long. The place was not packed, so why? Wasted a whole night, will not return. read more

My 4 year old's favorite restaurant, surprisingly. She (and I) love the pizza, it's always fun to hear her specify "cheese only" to the waitstaff who are always friendly. Drinks are good as you'd expect at a place like this, my wife loves their Mojitos while I like sampling different beers. Other favorites are the Jambalaya, Meatloaf, shredded pork sandwiches, onion strings, and thin cut fries. Nice relaxing place though there is often a wait. Big round booths are perfect for corralling kids without making them feel closed in. read more

This BJ's is hit and miss. Sometimes good food and service and other times, like this evening, it is a nightmare. Our service was incredibly slow. The waiter clearly didn't care at all about performing well. The restaurant wasn't full or particularly busy but it still took forty minutes to get out food. I decide to venture out and get the thin crust pizza. It tasted like a stale version of Dominos thin crust. A frozen pizza would have been better. The bad food coupled with inattentive waiter made our experience frustrating and sadly, not at all the enjoyable dinner we set out to have. read more

This used to be my favorite restaurant but they are slipping. Some of the signature dishes vary in quality. The waitstaff is young and inexperienced. I was in the middle of a conversation and several times had an arm thrown in front of me with no announcement or asking of pardon. BJ's is always on my radar. One, for the wide variety of Home Brews. I suggest the Blonde, Lightswitch and the Jeremiah Red also, but there's plenty more to choose from. As far as food, the Chili Queso deep and fried cheese for starters. The deep dish pizza, especially the all meat is great. Always hot out of the oven. Also you have to try the Chicken Alfredo which is another favorite and the New Orleans Jambalaya. The service will please you too always prompt! Plenty of TVs to catch some sports and have a cold one. A good spot for sport fans. read more

As an inner-looper, I rarely travel to one of the suburbs. I have visited this restaurant twice in the last two months. The first time was with a group of friends and we came on a night when there were several "cheerleading groups" there for dinner. The service was slow, however, unless each large group calls ahead, events like this can't truly be planned for in advance. The huge disappointment was the server who brought the wrong non alcoholic drink to my friends who eat there quite a bit. My friend explained to the server that her drink was not correct. The server responded it was basically the same. I had to contain my laughter because this is exactly the type of instance the managers at BJ's probably don't envision for employee if the month.This coupled with forgetting to enter our dessert order at the end of the meal made this a very laughable experience. My second visit was this past Friday evening. The pizza was good, drinks pretty weak, and again, the service very slow. 25 minutes from the time we ordered a cobbler dessert to having at the table is pretty bad. I agree with most people who say the service is spotty. I understand this is a chain restaurant that meets the needs of their customers and have several friends who rave about the food. Just not my thing...especially when I'm used to being in restaurants with great service and attentive servers. read more

Bj's has such an amazing variety of food there, and everything looks amazing. This is my husbands favorite place to go with me for special occasions! We went however with a group (20 of us) and we decided to have a special event dinner here. I planned for this dinner here for 6 months! I was so excited! I had called a few times the weeks before and always spoke to the same manager (a woman) and told her specifically that I wanted a certain menu (dishes under a certain price range) and a drink menu (drinks under a certain price range). She said she would accommodate and the time we could be arriving it would still be happy hour. The event started and I was stuck in traffic so I arrived 15 minutes late. When I got there it was already a disaster. No special menus put out, No specific drink menus were put out per our agreement. We only had 1 waitress who seemed new and was weeded the entire time. She forgot to take half of our drink orders, then finally 45 minutes later we received drinks like everyone else. She then took peoples food orders but then forgot about me and the kids at the table, and a couple other people. I asked to see the manager but our server told us the manager "could not come over, but I could go over to where she was". really? So I went to meet with her and asked her about the menus and why it wasn't going the way we agreed. "well we can pass out the happy hour drink menus now if you want". At this rate the waitress took so many orders before I arrived there was NO WAY I could make this one check anymore. I politely told her it was kind of too late now, that is was supposed to be one check and my guests only allowed to order off the specific menu only. "well we didn't get it put together, but let us know if we can do anything else for you". The manager woman that night did not do well by us :( We did without drinks for most the night, I finally got food to eat after everyone else was done, the checks were not in order sadly, and the waitress was hardly ever around. my poor guests were happy we spent time together but no one enjoyed the service and time we had at bjs. It took a few months to hear back from anyone at the store, but when I did I spoke to Chris (the General Manager). He is a very nice man, and is sending us a gift card in the mail. Even though we had 1 bad experience, We are willing to try it again, and hope for a much better experience this time. read more

My boyfriend and I visited this restaurant for what we thought was our usual good food and drinks. However, quickly after seating ourselves at the bar it was evident something was off. Not sure of what was different we continued our drinks and food at the bar. After asking for the tab our waitress pointed to the ticket located in a cup at the bar. Maybe that is normal; however, our usual bartender/waiter Jason would never act so rudely. In that second it made sense...we had a rude waitress. All the subtle gestures made by her this evening all of a sudden made sense. I'm not sure if her rudeness was on account of her dislike of other types of skin colors or if it was her usual self. This place has some of best american-style food I've had in Clearlake so far. The avocado egg rolls are very good and they come with a tasty sauce. For my first first here, I had the Mahi Mahi fish on the light menu and it was just "ok." The fish was a little overcooked but the rest of the dish had a delicious mix of vegetables and rice. I didn't try any of their alcoholic drinks, but the draft root beer was great. For desert we actually got a pazooki for free from our waitress! It was our first time coming here so she said it was on the house. If we hadn't gotten the Pazooki for free, I would say it's not worth the price. Overall a good experience and I will be back. read more

The service was terrible. They were not busy yet nobody came to our table in a reasonable amount of time. Finally the waiter came but he had NO personality. We went ahead and ordered appetizers and main course. After waiting a long time he brings everything together. We send back the appetizers. The pizza was barely warm almost cold. The waiter was no where to be found. He did not check on us, we had to ask for water once our drinks were empty for over 15 minutes which the waiter actually screwed up our water request as well. I informed the manager afterwards but he had little reaction, no offer to make up for the crappy experience. $60 down the drain! read more

Went here with some of my girl friends expecting just to eat and leave, just a casual dinner. But our waitress was so nice we couldn't help but have a couple drink (that where delicious) and so was the food. Kimberly and I went here 3 times while in Webster, TX. Great food and staff. Jerome was our first server. He was friendly, attentive and we even got a free desert. This place was crowded, but we got a booth within the wait time they told us when we first checked in. We liked it so much we went back 2 more times. Big restaurant and they provide the staff and help to ensure great service. A huge menu to select from. I am in the military and took my girlfriend, Kimberly, there for lunch one day during my tdy. I was in uniform and when we went to pay for the bill we were told a customer had already picked up our tab for lunch. Kim asked our server who we should thank, but our server said they wanted to remain anonymous and had already left. We thanked her and told her to thank whoever it was if she sees them again. Hopefully the persons or persons reads Yelp. I did post this on Facebook. My girlfriend, Kimberly was overwhelmed by this generosity, and so was I. Now it is our turn to pay it forward. read more

The best pizza ever! I came here for a team meeting and it was literally delicious. They also brew their own beer, can't beat that.

I used to eat lunch here once a week or so, but have finally given up on it due to the ever decreasing quality of service and the customers they allow in. The last 3 times I've been in, I ate at the bar. Each time had the same annoying barfly who just can't shut up, asking personal questions and more. Even politely telling him that I just came in for a beer and some lunch isn't enough to shut him up. The female bartender each time has commented that he's talkative, but does nothing to dissuade him, even after a group of 4 got up and told her they were leaving and to cancel their order due to his incessant comments and questions. Burgers are good, fries are horrid, beer is good, but usually barely cooler then room temp. They have good prices on daily specials, but you have to be sure and tell the server/bartender about the special, as they typically continue to charge full prices until you point them to the clear language and special prices on the ridiculously lengthy (and greasy) menu. My last visit, I decided to just leave because the barfly showed up and once again launched into his incessant commentary and quesions. For my $7.25 bill, I handed the bartender a $20. She asked if I wanted change. Duh... needless to say she got no tip. read more

I Honestly would never eat at this place unless its in a togo box.. I used to work here as a dishwasher and saw how they had us clean.. they are more concerned about how fast you can do it than how clean you can get it. They don't like you to call in so if your sick you are still working with the dishes the guy who rolled the silverware would always be coughing on the stuff.. it makes me sick thinking about it I mean the food is ok i just wouldn't trust half the stuff on the menu because of what they are prepared on. read more

We have been going here for about 7 years. I will not give the Bjs a 5 star because there is no such thing as a perfect restaurant. We have never had a bad experience here. I love drinking all of their house beer and also all of the winter lager dark beers. The avacado eggrolls are amazing. The angel hair pasta and the flatbread pizza is also good. I do think that is a little overpriced. Every time that I have gone there its never less than the 50 bucks for two people. And we do not pig out. The to-go girl, Marcy, is always friendly and always does an excellent job making sure the order is right and fixing it if it is not. We decided to give this place a second chance. It has been well over a year since we have been there. I will not be back for another year at least. Tell me why, both times we have asked for a "Table" and been given a half booth half table. Tell me why, when we inquired about a different table we are told the section is not open(the first visit) or given a stupid look and made to feel uncomfortable(the second visit). So now we are sitting at our half booth and half table and its dirty. Lemon seeds stuck between the table and the wall. What looked like mold in the cracks of the booth(forgetting the fact that we didn't want a booth in the first place). Server had two tables. Took well over 5 min to get a tea and a water. Had to tell him again what our app order was because "He drew a blank." Each part of our meal was delivered by another server. This isn't that bad because I understand teamwork. However, there is a difference between team work and doing someone else's job. I should have tipped the other guy. Maybe I'm picky, but if I'm going to spend my money on a full service experience, maybe I should have gotten one. I'm almost positive that this could have all been resolved if a table touch would have been done by one of the three managers they had on duty that stood next to the bar and talked the entire time. What a shame. The avocado egg rolls are awesome. Maybe I'll just have to get them togo. If they don't find a way to mess that up. read more
