Waiting 15 minutes for a refill on my drink and then a manager bringing my food can't even offer to refill my glass. And then the waitress had to bribe me with free food to save her tip. Me and my girlfriend went here to get a to-go order while we visiting town, since it's right across the street from our hotel. We sat in the take-out area for 5min or so with about 6-7 wait staff walked by us. None of them even bothered to ask us if we've been helped or anything. Asked for the manager and all he said was "Thank you for letting us know" what the fuck is that. My first time ever going to BJ's and the last time for me. I have 2 kids one baby and a small child, they sat me at a table and I asked for a booth, they said I couldn't have a high chair if I'm at a booth so fine I sit down. What drew me to this location was the fact that they described their deep dish pizza as a "Chicago Style Deep Dish Pizza"!! However I ended up paying $27.25 for a pan pizza. When I asked the waitress who brought my food to curbside if it was the right pizza, she insisted they only had two pizzas so it had to be a deep dish. If your advertising deep dish then it should be deep dish. I was not satified at all with this false advertisement!! Laziness is not acceptable either. If the waitress didnt want to walk back to correct order she should of just canceled everything and told the truth instead of just say it was right when the picture of the pizza looks nothing close to what i got!! read more

I wasn't going to write this review at first, since BJ's IS a chain restaurant that you normally wouldn't expect anything too far over mediocre for, but my most recent experience here inspired me to post my thoughts. Before this, I had always seen BJ's as a pretty solid place to eat with family or friends. This time, however, the food was the worst I've ever tasted from BJ's. I ordered the clam chowder and caesar salad combo, which was a big mistake in itself. It was somehow the worst chowder and salad I've ever had at a restaurant, which is not surprising because this isn't a particularly healthy or seafood-y restaurant. The waiter was really courteous but barely seemed to pay attention to our table, besides bringing us food and the occasional water refill. He didn't even clear our dinner plates before bringing out our pizookies. The pizookies were the only redeeming part of the meal, but then again, pizookies are really hard to mess up. read more

My partner decided that we to go to BJs instead of Saltgrass. I have BJ Reward card because I use to go to BJs all the time, but lately the food quality at the Clear Lake Restaurant has been poor. I was very disappointed this time. I ordered rib eye sandwich dip and after pulling off a huge chunk of fat, there was hardly any meat left. The Aus Jus was so salty, I ate the sandwich without the dip. My salad had rotten tomatoes and some of the lettuce was rotten. Ranch dressing was terrible. We received our meal order before our two appetizers so we decided to cancel the appetizers. They brought both appetizers anyways and said they would charge us for only one. My first strawberry lemonaide was watered down, but my second one was perfect. My partner did not complain about her meal and ate all the sushi mahi tuna appetizer, but she hated the Tumeric roasted cauliflower. I use to get the tomato mozzarella basil salad all the time until I received one with decomposed mozzarella. I love their lunch menu but not their dinner menu. read more

Based on our visit today- Party of seven, 15 minute wait time (No issue) Once we were seated, we waited another 15 - 20 minutes for the wait staff to take our drink order, which never happened, before we decided to go to the hostess stand to ask for a manager to assign a server to our table! Once we had a server things got better. They comped our appetizers & desert and put a rush on our order. I ordered the Atlantic Salmon, blackened. They must have been having a bad night when we went there but we are out of towners so have no comparisons. They were fairly full and not enough waitresses so service was poor. I guess it is a pizza joint but I asked the waitress about the steak and she raved about it so I ordered. It was full of grizzle and totally the worst steak I have ever tried eating. I finally gave up on it. My wife's pork chops were so over cooked she couldn't eat them. They did write off the steak and my wife just didn't eat her dinner and din't say anything. We go to BJs often but last night was SOO disappointing. We waited a while for a table. Then our waiter brought us drinks but no straws. I got my salad right away; but no silverware. Once we got our food- he never checked back with us. My husband finished his meal without getting condiments, and I was not a fan of my meal at all. We don't like to complain; but it was the worst service we've ever gotten anywhere. The waiter cleared our dishes and asked if we wanted the check.. Didn't even mention dessert. We had our hearts set on their infamous pizookie but we were so ready to get out of there. It may be a while before we consider returning. Such a disappointment. read more

BJs used to be pretty good. After tonight all I can say is it's just depressing. Not one person had a smile on their face. It was like sitting in church with food.I feel bad for the restaurant because once it gets this bad and your employees are that unhappy - you can't fix it. This place used to have after 9 happy hour that had ok cab that made the OK???? Food that was on happy hour worth it on a week night. Well...they changed everything! The cab on happy hour is the cheapest ... most aweful wine I have ever put in my mouth. Used to have Robert Modavi. Now it s regular price other choices are cheap grocery store brands that are 8 to 10 a glass. The parmesan crusted chicken was great with a nice sauce. That s been changed too. YUK. Typically I give the food, service and atmosphere at BJs 5 stars, but after an incident yesterday, I am very concerned! My BF and I visited the restaurant on Sunday around 1 to catch a few games and eat. We sat at the bar and ordered drinks and wings (food was excellent as always). The issue is when we were closing our tab: I typically don't review the bill and just know if it's about $30, it's about right. Well I know my BF only had 2 beers and yet there were 3 on there, an extra $4.00 charge. The bartender saw us questioning each other and said "oh, I added an extra beer, just incase you wanted another but I can take it off if you are done"... Ummm HELL NO! Do not charge us for something WE DID NOT get! Now I wonder how many times we have paid for stuff we did not receive and so should everyone else. I AM VERY DISAPPOINTED in this practice and now will have to review everything very carefully. What's even more sad is the manager acted like oh ok no problem I'll remove it as an error. Most of the time the food and service is really good but tonight was a whole new ball game. It took too long to get appetizer and when we did it was luke warm. Then our pizza arrived before we had a chance to finish appetizer and we sent it back to kitchen, instead of keeping it hot for us it too was cold when it came out 10 min later. Originally was going to eat at Buffalo Wild Wings but the wait was horrendous. My friend and I decided to try a new place and BJs was close enough. It was about 830pm on a Saturday night and it was full but no wait time for a table. We had the misfortune of having Brooke as a server. As soon as she walks up and introduces herself she hands us the menus and walks away. Five minutes later, she takes our drink order and asks if we want an appetizer. We tell her no, order a beer and and I ask for the gluten free menu. This is the only thing she managed to do on time and correctly. We both ordered the New York Strip. Mine was to have fries and green beans, my friend had mashed potatoes and green beans. His rare, mine medium well. I also ordered a orange cream soda. 15 minutes later and 2 water refills for me, she remembers my cream soda. A couple of minutes later our order shows up. His is fine. Mine isn't. My steak is between medium rare and medium, with fries AND mashed potatoes. I ask for my green beans before i cut into the steak. She brings me less green beans than what my friend got and then i tell her to take back the steak. well she brings it back, and i put my fork into it and blood still gushes out. Shes looking at it, and still has the nerve to ask if its ok. The wedge cut fries were originally good well fried and seasoned. Now they were over cooked and bland. The steak was seasoned unevenly, and cooked unevenly. It finished cooking on the plate AFTER it was brought back to me. And the steak itself was the worst cut Ive ever had anywhere. Chillis makes better steaks, and I HATE chillis. NOT ONCE after she brought the food back did she offer a refill or ask how we were doing. when she brought the check, we asked for the drinks on one ticket and the food on another. she couldn't even do that right. she ended up just splitting the check. so then she had to redo the check. Of course i complained to the manager as i was leaving and not at the table as to not make a scene but I WONT be coming here again. read more

It was a monday night and I needed to go somewhere for dinner that was in the vacinity of my errands. I went here based on the fact that I've been to the one in my hometown and am fully aware that its just an okay place to eat. It served its purpose. The server was nearly lifeless but hey it was monday night so I get it! It was not very busy given that it was a monday. Anyway I ordered the shrimp tacos that comes with tortilla chips a homemade versions of salsa and a guac. My food was edible and not too bad, but not at all warm either. So you get 2 tortillas filled with homemade slaw, frozen shrimps that you would find in the freezer section at the supermarket, and a sauce. I polished that off with a draft pear cider that was flat. The server said it was prob cuz that particular beer hadnt been served so the carbonation didnt kick in yet. The next beer I ordered was the draft berry blast combo that offsets the sweetness of the berry and that I did enjoy. Overall I'm not a beer drinker but the combo of cider and whatever it was was good! read more

I'm only giving this one star because of what happened yesterday around noon. My wife and I stopped in for lunch. It was only moderately busy which was suprising for a Friday. After giving our name to the hostess, we took a seat. Another elderly couple came in right behind us, same number of people in our party, two, and were seated before we were. We thought that was okay, because they were elderly so we didn't say anything. But then three young ladies who were friends of the hostess came in and were seating ahead of us. And then another couple as well. We decided to just leave and while walking to our car, my wife decided to go back in and tell the manager what happened. When she asked to speak to him, the hostess said "What for ? You gonna bitch about me ?" Needless to say she did, since she is a Police Officer, she has no problem speaking up. The manager apologized and offered to seat us right away if we came back in, but we decided to go elsewhere. It's not like there aren't plenty of other restaurants on Bay Area Blvd. to choose from. However, we will tell all our friends, and my wife will tell all her fellow officers to avoid the place until that hostess no longer works there. Too bad YELP doesn't send these reviews to the restaurants to see what people are saying abou them. It could probably help some of them to be better. And by the way, NEVER go here on a Sunday, as they are ALWAYS out of their famous Root Beer. read more
