Both me and my mom have bad knees, we requested a booth but she sent us to the bar area, lots of steps to get there or the long way which we had to take. It was also extremely hot and there were four of us , nothing really fit on our small table. Finally got to go back after many many years, got the Groupon deal for the campfire for two which was a great deal but the overall food quality wasnt the same. The brown bread is still as good as it's always been, however, the biggest disappointment is as the baked potato soup, over peppered and overall texture was not it.. I used to love it so that was disappointing. The service tonight was slow, and it wasn't busy when we got there just past 7. I noticed the table near us had sent back their food for it not being cooked right, the table who came after us got their food first, our server hardly checked on us + the wrong side dish was brought out with the meal although she did resolve it. She took so long to come back to us towards the end of the meal to the point we tried to get up & flag anyone down to ask for a box, check and our dessert to go. Again, not a very busy night. I wish I could give 0 stars This was my second visit in less than a month, and unfortunately it confirmed that the service issues here are not a one-off. On my first visit, the food was decent but the service was already lacking. My kids wanted to come back, so I gave it another chance. Last time, I purchased about $200 in gift cards and had roughly $30 remaining, which I noted at the time. On this visit, I printed the gift card info and also purchased an additional $100 in new gift cards. When it was time to pay, I was told the new gift cards worked--but the older one somehow had no balance. Knowing there should have been money left, I asked to speak with a manager. What followed was one of the most unprofessional interactions I've ever had in a restaurant. The person who came over (claiming to be the manager) opened with: "So, what's up? I heard you had issues with GC." No apology. No concern. Just attitude. When I explained the situation, he responded--rudely--"You want me to go back and look this up?" As if that was an unreasonable request. He then said it would take 15-20 minutes. I work in the restaurant industry myself, and I know that pulling up a gift card transaction does not take that long. The bigger issue wasn't the time--it was the complete lack of willingness to help. At that point, I felt dismissed, uncomfortable, and frankly disrespected. I told him to just charge my card because I didn't want to deal with it anymore. This was by far one of the worst restaurant experiences I've had, not because of the food--but because of the service and the shockingly poor management behavior. It's hard to believe that a company as large as Black Angus would allow someone with this attitude to represent them in a leadership role. If you value respectful service and basic professionalism, I would strongly suggest taking your business elsewhere. read more

I used to come to this Black Angus location a lot with my family, so it's honestly sad to see how much the quality has declined. I'm not sure if things have changed over time or if this was just an off day, but my recent visit was one of the most disappointing dining experiences I've had in a long time. We ordered the $69 two-for deal, only to realize there were additional upcharges for certain cuts (like prime rib) and even for the Wagon Wheel. I'm sure it technically appears on the menu somewhere, but it certainly wasn't clear -- probably tucked into a tiny asterisk I didn't catch. The food didn't redeem any of it. The prime rib was dry, with no jus, tough in texture, and the flavor was just... off. The green bean side was so tough and fibrous that it felt like it wasn't even properly cooked. For the price, the overall quality felt shockingly low. Service was another issue. It took forever for us to get our entrées -- from start to finish, the entire meal took over an hour and a half. On top of that, their tap system wasn't even working properly. For a moment I half-joked to myself that I might end up washing dishes to make up for this overpriced meal. I haven't dined out in a long time, and this experience reminded me why. My home-cooked meals taste better and feel more satisfying. After traveling and eating in other countries, the contrast makes American restaurant food feel like it's really deteriorating -- this meal being a prime example. We came for the (unbeatable) $20 ribeye promotion. Unfortunately, it took a solid 10-15 minutes to even be ACKNOWLEDGED, even though several servers (and what appeared to be a manager) walked by us, several times. Once we ordered, our food and drinks were brought out within a reasonable amount of time. The steaks were cooked PERFECTLY medium-rare, as requested. The salad was really good, as well. Unfortunately, the food runner never brought out the ranch dressing that *she suggested* (for my fries) and our server never came back to check on us. Once we were done eating, he walked by and saw my husband's glass was (and had been for 90% of our visit) completely empty and asked what it was. We assumed he was going to be right back with a refill...nope. He disappeared for another 5+ minutes and walked past us, empty handed. We finally flagged him down and asked for boxes and our check. Came here for lunch and unfortunately did not realize that I would have to deal with a bunch of moronic millennials who cannot comprehend the concept of basic math. Better training and a grade school level education would have fixed this, but I guess the standards to get hired here aren't very high. Even when I broke it down to simpler terms, none of them were getting it.. I purchased a Groupon for the campfire feast which in itself would cancel out the fee for that meal since I already paid for it through Groupon. The only thing I should be responsible for is the tax. However, upon looking at the receipt, I see that they were charging me the regular price for the campfire feast and then subtracting what I paid for with the Groupon deal. That's not how it works! What would be the point of me buying a deal on Groupon if you're going to charge me the difference when I get to the restaurant. That's just paying the regular price.
