Well it's been a while since we have been here with family stuff going on .. Sooo glad we had a chance to go back on Thursday evening about 4:00.. I'm on their "deal " club got this week "buy one meal get one free ,. OMG From steak , salmon , bbq ribs n chicken or prime rib !! I got my fav there (salmon) n a side salad but my ultimate fav is their potato augraten .. wow sooo delicious!! Started with walking in after being gone for while and Jackie saw us and says ( oh my gosh haven't seen you guys in a while , Adrien the mgr was next to her and said same thing.. "so nice to see you guys again " Wow made us feel welcome .. then as we sat down I'm praying we have our fav server "Luis " , which we did .. what a joyful and happy person .. so personable n helpful.. My salmon was cooked to perfection and hubby had bbq ribs n chicken. Ribs so tender ! When all done we mentioned to Luis we had our 50 th anniversary this past May .. Then out of the blue he brings a warm huge choc chip cookie with ice cream n candle ., Luis you are one of a kind !!! Adrian came buy to make sure everything was ok and he is personable n nice .. We decided to have dinner at Black Angus in Ontario, California on 08-13-2026 around 5:00PM. Our server, Lisa was fantastic. We ordered the Campfire Feast which is always good. Everything was served hot and good tasting. At the end of our meal, a couple came in and the had their pet dog, not a certified service dog and were seated at the table in front of us. Why Black Angus allows a house pet into their restaurant is beyond me. The dog though small was still a house pet! The dog was carried by its owner seated next to the owner and at no time were any display of any certified service credentials which is required by law. The server, Lisa was taken aback when she came to the table to take their orders and it was clearly obvious she did not know how to address this issue and she was looking for the manager. The owners even asked her to provide water for their dog. We are pet owners, and our pets do not travel with us to restaurants since they are not certified service animals. Certified pets are highly trained and are not allowed to be petted, touched nor fed/watered by strangers. We know this because we have several friends and police officers that train service animals. Black Angus has an actual sign on the doors before you enter the restaurant stating certified service animals ONLY. Well, since this restaurant obviously doesn't care about their customers, employees when it comes to allowing ordinary house pets, we now will most definitely stay away. We had previously posted about this issue before. The two stars are related to their allowance of house pets. As aforementioned our server Lisa, was great and so was the food. read more

Our friends have been trying to get us out to Black Angus small bites/pairing nights for a while and we finally made it. This cycle was Italian and vodka (I believe). We had reservations at 7 and were seated about 10 minutes or so after. The special event takes place in the bar area, so isn't very intimate and can get fairly loud, depending how many people are there. Everything (food and drinks) come out fairly quick. I enjoyed the small bites they offered and the drinks were pretty good too. The staff were all very nice and had a good rhythm down. I think we were in and out of there by 830-9? Congratulations Black Angus. You have officially taken the reigns for the worst dining experience since I've moved to this area. I probably haven't dined at a black angus in atleast a decade. My daughter wanted to treat her and I to dinner to celebrate a new endeavor. I booked the reservation on open table however it was clearly not necessary since only 5 other patron's appeared to be dining. Let's start with the bread.. when did black angus change their bread to two toasted dinner rolls? I ordered a ginger ale. Please tell me why it looked like an iced tea but tasted like flat soap. We ordered the campfire feast. I asked for my ribeye extra extra well done no pink I will not be able to eat it. My daughter said the same. She ordered lobster tails on the side for herself but it came on my plate and I don't eat seafood. I have a seafood allergy. So the lobster juices were all over my plate. Along side the medium steak. My daughter's as well. Tell me why they need to change $7 extra each ribeye and there was no bone in it? Looked like a top sirloin. I had enough I could not see us sending it back and my daughter paying over $100 for this terrible meal. So we had to leave. Typically I'll pay for what we had if we have to leave but I ddnt touch that roll, my ginger ale had to be sent back for a Shirley. There was also a gnat flying all over our food. Our waiter was rushed for nothing. There was only a few waiters but 5 tables eating so what he rushed off for is beyond me. I will never return for life! Our waiter Alex was super sweet and helpful. He proactively offered advice and recommended drinks. It's a super weird setup though. We had a reservation for 5pm for 2 people. There were PLENTY of seating. But they made us wait in the lobby for at least 10 mins before they sat us at our table. There were other groups sitting in the lobby waiting to be seated. So it seems it's how things work here. For the price, the food quantity was awesome. Our steaks were perfectly cooked at medium rare. Presentation and quality of the sides and apps.... Well, you get what you pay for. We were an adult and a growing 13 year old who devour everything. So we did the Campfire feast for 2. For starters we paid $7 for their sampler. Main, we ordered two cuts of steak for the kiddo to try and decipher which one he liked better. For sides we get to pick 2 each. Finally we get one dessert at the end. When the ONLY redeeming quality of our meal were the fresh and delicious salads AND we're at a steakhouse.... It's not good. I have never written a review of this nature, but we were SO disappointed in a meal that we expected to be excellent as Black Angus's usually are. We waited 45 minutes to be seated, which is to be expected. No problem. However, we were bumping up against the start of the concert we were going to or we would have had time to request an adjustment in the steaks....new ones or to order something different. We ordered a French Dip (was excellent), a 6oz Filet Mignon (medium well), and a Porterhouse Steak (medium). Both steaks were cooked as ordered but were very gristly. The Filet was unexpectedly gristly throughout the steak, but half of the Porterhouse was edible. Both steaks lacked "flavor". Our waiter, Max, was busy, but appropriately attentive and our meal came out quickly for as busy as they were. The restaurant itself was clean, well-lit, and comfortable. Service was friendly and prompt when it came to taking our order. When we asked for recommendations, the responses felt a bit dry, but overall the service was still pleasant. Went to Black Angus with a group of friends for a birthday, and overall it was a nice time. I shared the Campfire Feast with a friend--I chose the crab cakes and she chose the dessert. I had the salmon with a baked potato and salad. The salmon was a little dry but still okay. My salad was good, but the honey mustard was really thick, so I switched to a different dressing. I asked for my baked potato plain with toppings on the side, but it came out with toppings already inside. They did fix it. The crab cakes weren't our favorite--they tasted a little too fishy. For dessert, my friend got the carrot cake and said it was good, but I couldn't try it because it had walnuts. Another friend had to send her steak back because it was too tough. The atmosphere is very casual and could use a little updating. Our waitress was not overly friendly. I did appreciate that they let us split the checks for a large group. They also brought out a complimentary birthday dessert, which was nice. Overall, it was a good celebration, but the restaurant itself was just okay. Admittedly this was my fault for choosing a steak house for brunch. Though at the same time, we all had some version of steak. And we were at a steakhouse. Quality was so sub par. My steak was drowned in butter to where it was just a puddle of oil. The potato cake was just raw mashed potatoes fried. I have been to various Black Angus restaurants throughout my life. It will always be one of my favorites. This one has a brightly lit open dining area which is different from the darker secluded booths of some Black Angus restaurants in the past. I appreciate the ambiance of a lower lit dining room but this is a good change. It took a moment of getting used to the open concept dining room but I knew I can always expect great tasting food and excellent service. My mainstay has always been the Prime Rib. A delicious 16 ounce Prime Rib can be found here. The temperature was a perfect medium rare. It came with a baked potato which was creamy from the sour cream and butter. I liked that fresh horseradish was automatically on my plate alongside the creamed horseradish and au jus. I always like to add more horseradish to the prepared creamed one and enjoy the sinus clearing sharp bite. A fresh salad and crusty brown bread also came with the meal. My dinner tasted good and was very satisfying as expected. The portion size for everything was generous and I was able to take the remaining food home to enjoy the next day. Service was exemplary. The food arrived at the table quickly from the kitchen. There is plenty of parking in their lot and the restaurant is easy to find in the area. We went on a Monday for happy hour. I guess the bartender didn't feel like working. We did the dinner for two: a filet and other New York steak. An appetizer of artichoke. The other in our party got the steak sandwich. My steak was over cooked and lacked flavor. The artichoke was over cooked and tuff. You could clearly see we were ordering beers and enjoying talking. You could have cleared away some of the plates. My friend got up to go to the restroom and you brought us the check. The check was $175.00 Big mistake! The bill got paid and we left and walked next store and finished our night there chatting away having some beers and another appetizer. You missed out on another $100 You only had two other tables when we were in there. So it was basically empty on your side. She knew the menu, gave great recommendations, and checked in at just the right times. Drinks stayed full, food came out perfect, and the whole experience felt smooth and relaxed because of her. Ordered Brunch: Steak & Eggs, Shrimp & Grits, Sliced Prime Rib on Garlic Toast...all so so DELICIOUS! The Prime Rib on Garlic Toast was flavorful and the prime rib was cooked perfectly tender. I requested my two eggs over medium and it was perfect. It has cooked sliced onions and fresh diced tomatoes in it. This dish reminded me of the Vietnamese Steak and Eggs with baguette bread (Banh Mi Bo Ne) dish thatbcomes out on a sizzling plate. The sauce was almost identical. It was delicious, as we're all three dishes ordered. And yes! The famous toasted brown dinner roll is also served when you are seated for brunch. Luis is the best. He was so patient with my mom when taking her order and went out of his way to place a drink order for her that she would like. Extra sauce, no problem. Refills on drinks, before we took the last sip. He kept my mom's meal warm for her while she continued with her salad. Luis kept a smile on his face and had us laughing throughout out our meal. Tonight we dined at Black Angus and what a disappointment it was. Our server was friendly (kind of) but extremely oversat. We had to keep waving him down for more water, sauces, etc. We had to ask multiple times for basic things such as ketchup and steak sauce. The biggest disappointment came at the end of the meal. They apparently no longer have the chocolate cake (which was our favorite) even though it's still listed on the menu. The worst part of our visit was when we tried to order the VIP market steak assortment (uncooked steaks to go to cook at home). We waited over 20 minutes and finally, when I flagged down the manager, was told the kitchen was very busy and it would take longer. We cancelled the steaks and asked for the check. It did save us over $130 but was so frustrating that they had no intention of providing it but let us wait for nothing. This was our first visit at this location and we will definitely not be going back. Poor customer service from our server and the manager. So sad read more
