Never again!! We have been customers of the Black Bear establishment for over a decade, visited different states and enjoyed the experience, all the way to the original establishment in Weed CA. Black Bear has become a disappointment, their prices are NOT WORTH THE FOOD. $20 for a hamburger PATTY and fries. NO!!! We went here for Easter with relatives and it was a mess. I have been to many Black Bear Diners and this was the worst one ever. To start off it wasn't busy because it was a holiday so they have no excuse. Truly would never go to this location again. When we ordered the server didn't even know what items on the menu came with how many sides, salads etc. Didn't receive our cornbread with any of our entrees. Had to ask for multiple sides and salads sauces etc after our food was brought out. Orders of prime rib were asked to be medium rare were served well done. Turkey dinner was horrendous overcooked grilled dry. The worst was mine, I ordered meatloaf and it tasted of fish also the onion rings tasted like fish. I despise fish. Truly disgusting ruined the whole meal. We never received refills of any of our drinks either. 220 dollars wasted. Don't go here! read more

Every time we come to this diner we are greeted right away, our server Emily always answers any questions we have and provides suggestions to us. The drinks and food always comes out quick, the food well presented and hot! My favorite dish from this place so far is their pot roast melt The restaurant is always clean and the rest of the staff is friendly as well, even the dishwasher will have a smile on their face. My server Guadalupe didn't do a very good job. First, my husband ordered a BLT with no tomato, but when she brought it out you could tell there was tomato sitting on the rotting lettuce for a while because we could see the seeds, but then they took it off before it went out. Then, I ordered the meatloaf meal that was $20. She ended up giving me the small meatloaf meal, which is supposed to be $12. So I didn't get the extra sides and was still charged $20. My son ordered the pot pie which was as big as his head and fries. I ordered the turkey with mashed potatoes and cranberry sauce **** please be careful they dont give you pork gravy..just have to make sure. But I will say the turkey was good. I was so excited to try the black bear diner. I heard it was like grandma's home cooking Sunday night dinners. So my husband and I went Saturday night at 6:30ish. Everything sounded so good it was hard to decide. There were two other people seated. The service was slow, when I asked about an item our server was unable to answer my question. OK so my husband ordered prime rib (price not shown in meun.) I decided to get Meatloaf mashed potatoes and gravy. I chose soup broccoli and cheese. My husband did salad. Soup was runny, not at all what you expected. (I didn't eat it). Salad was nice crisps nice color with carrots shredded etc. My plate comes and it looked like it had been sitting In a cafferteria window with a heat lamp for hours. My husband's prime rib looked like it was over cooked thin shoe leather. One bite of the meatloaf and it was not chewable. The prime rib tasted how it looked. The bill came for two dinners that weren't eaten, $75.00. That prime rib was $32.99. . I will never returned to this location again. I seriously thought we're going to get food poisoning. I've eaten there quite a few times and every time you eat there they're always out of something. They're out of green beans or they're out of a certain entrée and have been advertising their Friday. All you can eat fish fry like crazy so we can go Friday. We finally went and they're like we're all out of it and we were there at 6 PM. It's just ridiculous and I try to make up for it by giving a cop your drinks and I ordered the regular fish and they put some extra fish on it for me, but that's not the point when you advertise something like crazy and people's emails and text messages and on their website you need to have the entrée available the entire night. We've gone on Friday night and they also have prime rib and they've been out of prime rib early in the evening. We were told by the one of the waitresses we see all the time but whoever orders the food doesn't order enough. It's just ridiculous this time after time you've also gotten pastries from there That have no sugar in them. It's ridiculous. There's no corporate control over them and all because they're independently owned what is sad. When I lived in Las Vegas, we ate at the One there all the time and the food was amazing. I came for grits and I ordered them and after waiting 15 minutes I was told finally that they didn't have any, then they stated they would replace them with something that I never received, I also ordered two pieces of bacon that I never and was charged for .
