Busy on the weekends but the service was amazing! We were checked up on multiple times and the servers were so kind. When we paid for our bill, the man ringing us up was so polite and thanked us for coming in today (he may have been the manager). Everyone at this location is doing a fantastic job. Restaurant was clean, food was delicious with big portions and the staff seemed so happy!

Food and service was great! Totally love the aesthetic too! Gabrielle was our server and she was so friendly and attentive to everyone. If you're in town or stopping by from a road trip it's definitely worth checking out.

Worst freaking experience and service ever. Black Bear ruined my mom's mother's day breakfast that ended being lunch. We were first told wait time was 30-35mins, but we ended up waiting for over 50mins. We understood it was busy, so we were okay. The thing that was incredibly frustrating was our waitress "Odi" and a random older man (not sure if he was a manager). We waited over a freaking hour for our food. Several people that came in after us had their food before us. We were really patient until the random older man (maybe manager) came saying without context that his kitchen was "pfff" and did some hand motions. Im guessing he was trying to say that they were backed up and said our food would be out shortly. Mind you we had already been waiting for over an hour. Our food came out 30mins later. All while our "waitress" kept avoiding our table and would randomly say your food will be out shortly 3 different times within the span of 1 1/2 hours. All they did for us was give us a lousy sorry, a bill, and some shitty as services. I am absolutely livid about this. You guys need better management. We always come here on busy days and never experienced this before.

We visited this location on 9/12/21 This was her first time at this location coming for breakfast, well a late breakfast around 12 PM we decided to make our way to Turlock for food ended up deciding on blackbear and we were not disappointed in our choice for The afternoon. Upon entering the building we were greeted by the host who then seated us at our table. We got the pleasure of having Tanner as our waiter for the day and I can honestly say he was a fantastic server. He made sure to give us the appropriate amount of time for us to find what we needed on the menu and he constantly checked in on us throughout our meal. Fantastic job on hiring friendly servers to give fantastic service. Let's talk food we were a party of three and we ordered multiple items off the menu; I ended up ordering the Grizz and everything about my meal was delicious and the pancakes were soft and warm my toast was crispy. my eggs were cooked perfectly and the hashbrowns were delightful. My husband ordered the scramble bowl with a side of French toast which he said were delicious my mother ordered another meal which I'm not too sure what it was called but she also said she really enjoyed her cinnamon roll pancakes. they were a bit sweet but that's what you get when you order cinnamon roll pancakes. Overall our food was very good everything was hot and if we needed anything extra tanner made sure to accommodate us in our request I would honestly come back to this location again if the service continues to be this fantastic.

We were visiting from out of town and decided to stop by because of the excellent reviews this place had received. When we first walked in, one of the employees asked what I wanted. I explained that I was waiting for my husband before ordering. She responded by saying, "Oh well, they're waiting," referring to the customers behind me. I immediately replied, "That's fine, go ahead!" so the other customers could order first, but her reaction afterward felt dismissive and somewhat annoyed. We later placed and paid for our order. Shortly after, my husband decided he wanted a Biscoff latte instead, so we politely asked if the drink could be changed. Another employee kindly stepped in and said she could do it, which we appreciated. I specifically asked for the drink to be changed to an iced Biscoff latte. Unfortunately, when the drinks came out, mine was still hot instead of iced. I went back up respectfully and let them know there had been a mix-up. Both employees looked at each other and chuckled in what came across as annoyance. I even apologized for the inconvenience, but the first employee responded by saying, "We are just too busy." I completely understand that working in customer service can be overwhelming, and I always try to be patient and understanding. However, at the time there were only a couple of seated customers and just the two of us waiting for our drinks, so the comment felt unnecessary. By that point, the interaction from the moment we walked in had already made the experience feel uncomfortable. We ended up grabbing our drinks and leaving disappointed. I usually enjoy leaving positive reviews, especially for small businesses, so it was unfortunate because we came in excited after reading such wonderful things about this place.

The reviews about the loud music is true and it's not changing any time soon…read more I visited for dinner ~6:30pm. Immediately when walking in I noticed the music was overwhelmingly loud. It felt more like a club scene rather than a nice dinner spot. I asked if the waitress could lower the music and she said they weren't allowed to touch it. Upon seeing the reviews of this place, I see why. The business owner claims that they're trying to curate a "lively atmosphere" and it's "not for everyone". That's wack. If half of your reviews are telling you the music is too loud, lower it. I could barely hear my partner speak and had to read lips just to try to have a conversation. Plus some of the waitstaff were changing songs midway through or skipping songs. It was distracting. On top of that, the main dishes do not come with a side. Every single side option is an up charge. I knew when ordering the salmon, that it wouldn't come with a side. But everyone should note that you're spending $25 on an 8oz salmon and two slices of lemon with not a single side. No rice, no nothing. To be honest, you can go to Texas Roadhouse and get the same exact thing for the same exact price and get two sides for free. Plus you're not hounded by extremely loud music. Last thing to note, our waitress was also working the bar. There was a couple at one other table and someone at the bar. Other than that, the restaurant was completely empty. We barely saw our waitress and had to wait for quite a while when we wanted to order another drink. We spent a lot of extra time than we wanted to waiting around. My positive about this restaurant is that the decor is nice and that they let you modify the dish a bit. We ordered the pasta trio and they let us get two of one type of pasta. The pesto was really good. The deals on Thursday for drinks is good. The bread and butter was really good but an extra $5. Overall? Business owner: please take note of what customers are saying and compromise. If a customer asks for the server to lower the music, staff should be allowed to, even if just a little bit. What sort of "lively atmosphere" are you trying to create on a Thursday night at 7pm with a restaurant 90% empty? Maybe change the vibe of the music based on the time of day. Your decorations say "nice dinner" your music says "sports bar". There is an in between and I know it can be found. I hope everyone can learn something from this review.

The Atrium has a totally different look than the previous restaurant Toscana's. They have spent a lot of time and attention to detail to create a more upscale atmosphere. The light fixtures, the moody floral motif on the ceiling, the serpent gold "A", and the greenery wall decor all create a unique look and feel apart from any other restaurant in Turlock. The menu offerings are designed to be shared which is a fun change from other area restaurants. The service was friendly and efficient with prompt attention and helpful recommendations. The only area we found that could be improved upon was the music volume. It was super loud which made it difficult to have a conversation over our meal. We were told that Atrium is trying to cater to a younger crowd. While we totally understand and appreciate the image they are trying to convey, the music volume really impacts the overall dining experience and not for the better. A recommendation would be to have the music volume a little lower during the dinner service and then switch from dinner service to light bites and cocktails, dim lights, and play the music louder to cater to a younger crowd. Of course that is just our opinion. We will give it another try in the future to see if things have improved, but in the meantime, we do hope they succeed.

I tried their red sangria and enjoyed it, it's not too sweet and more tart. My friend had the lemon drop, and at first it wasn't the proper color of one it was more orange than yellow. We had an accident with the baby and he knocked over the drink and water and they were kind enough to remake her the cocktail and the next time around it was the correct color and tasted better. The food menu also had unique items, I was intrigued to try a few things! We started with the ceviche, I really liked it! Typically I always go for chilaquiles so I was torn but I decided to be different and since it is a crepe place I went with the mushroom and bacon crepe. The sauce they use on the crepe is decently spicy, so if you're spice sensitive I recommend getting it on the side. My friend's daughter had the breakfast crepe and it also had the same sauce and she had to eat around it, but she trooped through! My girlfriend ordered the steak bowl and she enjoyed it, it came with a lot of steak!

The food was always top notch! After the first ownership change, it seemed to have lost it's value a bit. I went last year and I'm not sure who was the owner at that time, but it seemed to be back up to par. A few weeks ago, some girlfriends and myself stopped by for dinner and drinks. My friend wanted an indigeny and we were told they were out and that the menu was most likely inaccurate regarding beers, due to how often they change them. She wanted a cider and was told dustbowl strawberry margarita is a cider. It is in fact a seltzer and not what she wanted. I asked for a mango mojito and was told they were out of mint. I'd decided to order anyway and when the drink arrived, it was not flavored at all. I asked if it was mango and he said no and went to change it, saying the bartender got mixed up. While it was better as mango, a mojito needs mint. One of my friends ordered fries and what came to the table was not what we would consider fries. It was slices of potato and I didn't find it to have much seasoning. Another friend ordered arancini and an artichoke, while the last friend ordered arancini with tomato sauce on the side. Her arancini arrived with the tomato sauce on the bowl and not on side as requested and the waiter took it back to fix it. The artichoke was not cleaned, leaving the choke (fuzzy part) in the middle and my friend had started to eat it. At $18 for an artichoke, it should be cleaned correctly. The anancini were tasty and I enjoyed both the tomato and the pesto sauce that accompanied it. Before we ordered our mains, the waiter came back to say they were out of burgers and the cut of steak for both the black and bleu and the Jack Daniel's steaks, but could sub a ribeye instead. Ribeyes were market price vs the $37 of those 2 items. I was going to get the black and bleu, but then decided I would try to fish of the day. It was a white fish with a cream sauce and baby shrimp over mashed potatoes and green beans and I thought it was done very well. The fish was flaky, the mash creamy and the green beans had just enough bite! I ended up ordering another drink, but opted for wine to make it more simple. One of my friends had the chicken fettuccine Alfredo and she thought it was OK. While I had hoped for a better experience, I will probably return to see if things are the same or they were just having an off day.
