Came here with my son to escape the heat and get some delicious comfort food. I ordered the hobo omelette which was delicious. My son ordered the chicken & waffles. The chicken was a 4 star rating. The only problem was the waffle was slightly charred on the bottom. We notified the server and were granted a new waffle. I had dinner at Black Bear Diner, conveniently located right across the parking lot from my hotel. After a long workday, I was looking for something quick and satisfying--and this place hit the spot. The atmosphere was family-oriented, and the waitress was bubbly, kind, and very helpful. I ordered the chicken Cobb salad tossed in buffalo sauce, and it was delicious, full of flavor, and generously portioned--more than enough for one meal. Our waitress was delightful, but was quite busy and took a while to get us our check. Food was about as expected when you walk in and there was SO much of it. The quality and quantity of the food was excellent. The two times I went there had very different service levels. The first time was quite early and they were shorthanded, and the service was spotty. Went to Black Bear Diner this morning and had a ridiculous experience. My niece and I both clearly ordered the $10.49 steak & eggs special. Instead, the waitress brought out huge New York steaks we NEVER ordered--and mine wasn't even cooked right. When we told her, she argued and insisted we ordered them. We did not. Moved here In 81' left in 89' Visited this establishment 8-1-25 around non maybe before, was about 1/2 full we ordered a I think simple order, sandwich and a burger and the tip dip I think was called, after MORE then a 1/2 hour, and our waitress telling us we are next up and hearing her call our number multiple times we left. Is that a normal time to wait?? Maybe if the burger was ordered well, which my brother never would ( he likes it mooing.) I can grill one in less the 20 min...!! Went on a Sunday morning at 10AM. Was a short wait but was very busy. It took awhile for the server to come to our table. But they were apologetic for the wait. Ordered the Beats choice with links, egg whites, breakfast potatoes and a waffle (instead of toast). Breakfast Potatoes weren't cooked all the way through. Chose a waffle instead of toast. Didn't eat much of it at the restaurant but airfried at home was a good move. BB's Habanero hot sauce didn't have strong habanero flavor, which was disappointing. I have been here a million times and it never fails! The food is so plentiful. You definitely get MORE than your money worth. The food is amazing and fresh. I was nervous reading the reviews but this was not bad for breakfast/brunch. Would recommend and consider going back. We went on Monday for the New Years holiday. As expected, there is a wait for being seated for brunching but it wasn't long. Food was good and our server was on top of it with our orders and drinks. Ambience was clean, cozy and friendly I ordered the mini volcano meal which filled me up well. The hot chocolate was perfect in taste and temperature. Loved how they add a slice of orange to the plate. Regular meals are huge. Would go back when in the mood for a hot big breakfast. Kids meals were great! My family when here for our Thanksgiving dinner. They offered a turkey,ham or prime rib option for dinner. I chose the prime rib and ordered it medium rare. It came out medium, almost medium well. I sent it back asking for medium rare. It arrived once again medium well. I guess they thought they wouldn't be selling much prime rib that day and had just a single roast to carve from. It was edible but not what I'm used to. The rest of the meal was underwhelming. I'll stick to the breakfast menu next time I'm roped into going there. read more

I haven't eaten here since I became a yelp reviewer. There is a reason for that, as I was reminded when I ate lunch here today. I was seated right away, but it took a while for the waitress to show up to take my order. She asked if she could take my drink order, I said that I was on a tight schedule, and would like to place my order now. She seemed surprised, but took my food, and beverage order at the same time. She brought my coffee out promptly, but with that came a tall glass of water with Ice in it! I didn't want water, especially with ice in it. I wish restaurants would ask before bringing water, it's a waste otherwise. Their special for today was "Steak and Eggs." I was going to order steak anyway so I went with the special. When she brought out my order I asked for the check, which is unusual for the most part, but I really couldn't wait around for a check today. The steak was a cheaper cut of beef. Maybe a sirloin, or skirt steak. Whatever cut it was, it was watered down. What I mean by that is, it had no flavor , tasted watery, and was tough. Eggs were the eggbeater kind. I know better than to order scrambled eggs at a restaurant, if I'm not willing to eat fake eggs. Some of the potatoes were either cold or luke warm. You could tell they were from the baked potatoes the night before. Rye bread was toasted just about right. I always get mine dry because I don't like margarine. They have the little jam packets with a variety of flavors. Coffee was topped off a couple of times but had to ask for the last go around. If you have a huge appetite I would give this place a go. They serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Plenty of food, you won't leave hungry. I just wasn't impressed today with the food quality. read more

This place still moves at the speed of glacial and after deciding I had maybe ordered the wrong thing last time, I went with breakfast this time. The sweet cream pancakes were giagantic, with one of them maybe more than all of the other sides, the eggs, bacon, and eggs, combined, which is fine, I guess. They were overly sweet for my liking and the rest of the stuff was similarly fine. In fact, that's how I would put this visit, as just fine.
