This cozy eatery located in Legacy village will soon become my weekly routine. I call it my Philly Creole Sammie Cuisine. For my initial visit, I purchased the Shrimp Philly with Cajun fries. The sandwich was delicious and I could barely eat it all (didn't waste 1 crumb). The fries were a bit spicy for me but none went to waste either. I suggest dining I'm rather taking the food to go. This slice of HEAVEN was a surprise for me, moving back to Cleveland. Working for a foos delivery service, I repeatedly went back to this restaurant so many times one evening, I made it my mission to go when I could try some of the foos myself. That Sunday, I went and ordered the Stoner Fries and was immediately HOOKED! #Delicious. I also order a Red Velvet Cupcake... now, let me say this. I grew up with a grandmother that baked cakes and pies like weekly, so I'm not crazy abt sweets like that; I've had my share. We stopped in for a late lunch after a doctors appointment. I had seen the reviews and wanted to check it out. We placed our order and were seated. We decided to eat in, because we had a long drive and didn't want the food to be cold. I ordered the Railroader burger and husband got shrimp and lobster roll. We waited about 10 minutes before the food came out. It was delicious! My burger was probably one of the top 10 burgers in my life. I think it would be next level with some crispy fried onions on top, but it was still amazing. I got plain fries and they were so good! They reminded me of fair fries (like the county fair). Husband said his shrimp and lobster roll was awesome. He also got garlic Parmesan fries and they were so good. I would absolutely give 5 stars for the food. I took off one star and it kills me, because this place deserves all the business. However, the booth seating is awkwardly high, and that's literally the only issue i had. Everything looks delicious and full of mouth watering flavor! I got the BBF Sampler. I never knew a burger could taste so good without condiments. The sweet caramelized bacon & onions on top was the kick in the tastebuds. And the chicken sandwich is the best chicken sandwich that I have ever tasted-literally. The soul roll was really good. It was a nice spin on the well known egg roll. The sweet sauce served with it set off the flavor a of the roll nicely. My new favorite burger spot. I wasn't sure if I could get a basic burger because that option wasn't on the menu (mostly exotic burgers). I am more of a simpleton and just want a plain burger w fries. They accommodated me and made an amazing burger with delicious seasoned mayo. The fries were Cajun flavored (think 5guys Cajun but better) and were amazing. This place is amazing! I was referred by a friend who tasted their food while here for a weekend. First, the food LOOKS amazing. If you're anything like me, I eat with my eyes first! My take out box was a work of art. My sandwich was nearly placed in the box and my fries were accented with fresh Parmesan and parsley. I also ordered a soul roll and it was steaming hot and looked delicious. Before I get to the taste of the food let me add that the restaurant is in a good location. Although parking can be difficult there's usually a spot somewhere in the vicinity. The restaurant itself is quaint (probably not best for large parties) and very clean! The decor is nice and the atmosphere (and staff) are warm and welcoming. THE FOOD IS AMAZING! I purchased the OMG philly and it was delicious. The fries we're hot and crispy, with a little bit of shredded parmesan cheese. The only thing that I did not care for was the soul roll. It was 3 or 4 dollars and was just a fried egg roll wanton shell filled with dirty rice and to dip in an Asian spring roll sauce you can get at any Asian market. Ok this place gives you A LOT of food. I got the fixed, fried chicken sandwich and it was pretty massive. The slab of chicken they gave me was bursting out of the sides of the sandwich! Now there are pros and cons to this: the pros are that, well, you get a lot of chicken! A lot of protein without the accompanying carbs (ignore the breading for this line of logic please). The cons are that it's less aesthetic and it felt less like a sandwich and more like a schnitzel. The sandwich itself was very tasty and came with a healthy amount of sauce and by that I mean a thicc coating because this sauce is undeniably unhealthy! So why only 3-stars huh? Well, it's because this food is just a little bit too much. The portions are quite large, which is great, but the flavor profile is just too overwhelmingly rich. There isn't a lot of flavor to the sandwich either. It certainly WAS NOT bland, but there wasn't any sort of spectrum or cohesiveness to the tastes. The sandwich was essentially a very heavy meal that had an overpowering taste of lipids. Every aspect of this sandwich was concealed behind a thiqq layer of oil and butter. This menu could be improved by cutting down on the amount of fats used in the ingredients and increasing the amount of vegetables used in the dishes. A fried chicken sandwich is complemented excellently by a fresh pickle and maybe some coleslaw, lettuce, or other greens. Heavy, salty, and buttered paired with light, crispy and refreshing makes for a top notch sandwich. Heavy paired with heavy is overwhelming. :. Overall, good sandwich, but too rich for my tastes. Sunday I came here and invited a few friends for lunch before I flew back out of town. The service was ABSOLUTELY horrible! The manager (older black lady) had an attitude the entire time we were there. One of the friends I invited asked her for more ketchup and the manager asked her "didn't I give you 3 already". Keep in mind a lot of fries comes with the meal so no 3 packs was not enough. Secondly, I had 3 guest wait 45-hr for their food. All 3 had to leave before their food was finished. So they were all late because of the slow service we received. The last two guest I invited order was wrong. The guy who took the order didn't note one guest didn't want shrimp on her meal because she is allergic and they put shrimp on her food anyways! When we went back to get a new order because obviously she wasn't able to eat the sandwich, the young man told her "we don't make exceptions on food" which was a lie because other guest made changes to their orders. They refused to make them new sandwiches for about 10 mins until the manager had to get the owner on the phone. Between the wait on food and terrible service, I spent about 3 hours in the store. I am HIGHLY disappointed because I spoke highly of this place. It was an amazing experience 2 years ago before I moved away and it was also a lot of folks first time there. On the downside, the workers were unprofessional. The person at the check out kept sucking his teeth and rolling his neck and people were loud talking, laughing and hackling in the back. The price was high. It cost about $40 for 2 adults and 1 child. That is what I would expect to pay at a sit down restaurant. We had takeout sandwiches. The food was outstanding. O. M. G. OMG OMG OMG OMG! That is literally the only way to describe this place, and coincidentally is the name of a couple sandwiches! I'm a food person, a fat kid at heart, a Yelp Elite, the daughter of a chef, I've lived in a couple different states and countries, and have visited so many restaurants. Only a handful stick out as truly memorable and desirable to go to again and again and again instead of trying something new. Black Box Fix is one of those, I'm not kidding. This place is the happiest rebound I've ever had. My boyfriend and I went to Legacy Village for my birthday on a Sunday afternoon and made a visit to California Pizza Kitchen for some mid-shopping fuel (don't judge, I like their frozen pizzas). After waiting what seemed like forever for a hostess to come by (they weren't busy), we were seated and the hostess asked "have you been here before?" We replied, "No, we've always wanted to try it!" and were met with no response, weird. After waiting another 15 minutes and not seeing a server and not seeing anything stellar on the menu, we got up and left. I was starving and annoyed so naturally we beelined to the closest place to get food and found ourselves walking into Black Box Fix. Immediately some strapping young gentleman who resembled Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson greeted us and asked if we've been in before. "No, but I'm starving!" I told him. He laughed and said they could definitely fix (get it? "FIX"?) that as he handed me a menu. Oh. My. Gosh. I wish I liked shrimp more (it's a texture thing) because I would've been in Heaven... but regardless I was still drooling and couldn't decide on anything because holy hell this whole menu looked like everything that is delicious and wonderful tossed together on a hoagie bun. Don't even get me started on my mayo obsession, either (I call it aioli so I don't seem so fat kid-like). Eric "The Rock" told me the OMG Philly was what they're famous for, so I went with that along with the garlic parmesan fries and a side of the spicy crab mayo. GOOD LORD. This sandwich is a fork and knife ordeal because it's so packed full and ginormous. I couldn't eat fast enough, the chicken was so juicy and flavorful, the peppers, mushrooms, and onions sauteed to that perfect crisp "snap" texture (not flimsy and slimy like a certain burrito company), the cheese melted so ooey-gooey over the whole thing, a yum-yum sauce mayo that I would bathe anything and everything in given the chance, and even the shrimp! For not being a shrimp fan, I greedily ate every dang piece off that sandwich and wanted more. I kept telling the girl working the counter how amazing everything was and she probably got annoyed but I couldn't help it, I wanted to give her and Eric a hug. I was full way before I finished my sandwich but there was no way I wasn't finishing it. I neglected my fries in my worship of this sandwich, so I ended up taking those home, but believe me they were also seasoned to perfection and the amount of cheese on top was akin to what the Olive Garden cheese grater person would give you if neither of you had any self control. They were phenomenal. I've already told everyone I know that they need to come visit Black Box Fix and I've already started planning my next couple visits because I'm determined to try everything on the menu. It's been like 28 hours since I ate there and I still can't stop smiling and thinking about that dang sandwich and looking at their menu so I'm sure my boyfriend thinks I'm cheating on him with his "who got you smiling lookin at your phone like that??!" self. PS - if you left anything less than 5 stars, you're wrong. Of course there's not a lot of seating, the space is small. Of course you're gonna wait a minute for your food, it's not sitting out on the grill waiting for you to come in. Of course there will be days where service isn't optimal, we all have those days. Of course some people won't like the music they play, you can't please everyone (I thought it was great). Be grateful for the blessing that BBF is because I'm sure nobody does it better than them.
