The OMG philly and garlic fries was big enough for my sister and I to split and we were full. It never crossed my mind to add shrimp to a Philly cheesesteak but now that I've had it, I don't think I can go back to my regular ways lol. And to add on top of all the deliciousness, the customer service was top notch. The cashier was VERY patient with me as I asked a lot of questions during the ordering process. I heard of this place when it was still in Cleveland Heights, always wanted to try it but was never in town to remember. Now I moved back to Cleveland and heard they moved closer to me, I had to give them a try. I ordered the OMG Philly which is philly chicken sandwich with some blackened shrimp on there. It was a lot of food and very messy, so get a knife and fork. The sandwich was I think a little under-seasoned, but that's my opinion. It comes with regular fries, but I upgraded to garlic parmesan fries for $4. The fries were ok, definitely not worth the additional four dollars. They were definitely under-seasoned. Lastly the sampler, it was definitely worth it. The creole roll was a little different, wasn't the biggest fan but it was still good. The two different sliders was the best part out of the whole order. It was juicy and extremely flavorful! I would love to come back and try what else they have to offer. This was EASILY one of our favorite meals while in Cleveland... i mean we ate there twice in one day (without shame). The food here is just too damn good. On our first go round Kelsay and I both got their famous OMG philly... chicken, shrimp and all the usual cheesesteak toppings. The thing that sets this sandwich apart is the yum mayo, which is essentially mayo mixed with yum yum or white sauce (it's delicious). With the sandwich you can get gourmet fries and a drink for $5, I got the parmesan garlic fries and Kelsay got cajun... both were great! Second to round, I got the Mr. Martin which was mind-blowingly good. it was a fried chicken sandwich tossed in this delicious bbq sauce and sweet onion slaw. I ate that sandwich so fast I was almost ashamed lol. Kelsay got the sweet bleu fire chicken sandwich which sounds like what you think. Let's start with the Service... Jeff welcomed me and we chatted while I waited for my lunch buddy to arrive. Jeff was super friendly and informative about the restaurant, the food, the Chef and how proud he was to work there !! That made me feel pretty good about trying out this new place ! The flavors on my burger were phenomenal. The Sauce was like a sweet BBQ and it made the bun a little bit soggy unfortunately. I'm not sure how it could've been done differently though. The fries were the star for me though. Parmesan fries were cooked well, tasted fresh and the portion was generous. There was a surplus of fresh shredded Parmesan on the top that made them taste even better. I even saved the leftovers and they warmed up well in the oven the next day. read more

Worth the drive to Cleveland alone! I had been drooling over their gourmet sandwiches on Instagram for a while now and knew that we had to make a visit on our next trip to Cleveland. Once inside we each grabbed a menu to study to try and figure out what we each wanted to order. Black Box Fix offers three categories of sandwiches with several forms of each. Chicken Fix, Philly Fix and Burger Fix. Each sandwich comes with your choice of either Cajun, Creole Butter, Garlic Parmesan, Lemon Pepper or Plain fresh cut fries. After much deliberation we each ordered a sandwich for one of the three categories. I ordered The "Famous" OMG Philly Fix with Garlic Parmesan fries. It features grilled chicken, sauteed mushrooms, onions, peppers, garlic and melted Swiss cheese and is topped with Creole jumbo grilled shrimp served on a toasted hoagie roll with their yum mayo. My wife chose the Sweet Bleu Fire Chicken Fix with Creole Butter fries. It features buttermilk fried chicken drizzled with house made parmesan herb buffalo sauce and is topped with sweet apple and bleu cheese slaw and comes served on a toasted brioche bun. Our daughter chose the Hibachi Burger Fix with Creole Butter fries as well. It features grilled beef topped with melted mozzarella and provolone cheese, sauteed mushrooms, onions, peppers and Creole jumbo grilled shrimp and comes served on a toasted brioche bun with yum mayo. Once we ordered we grabbed a table and waited on our food. The decor was very nice and even the bathroom was beautiful. They had nice smooth jazz playing which made the wait for our food much more bearable. It seems like calling your order in ahead is the way to go as that was what most of the people did that came in as we waited. 30 minutes later our food arrived. Everything looked and smelled amazing! The fries were so good we all eat them before even touching our sandwiches! My OMG Philly was incredible once I finally got to it! The bread was fresh, the chicken was well seasoned, tender and full of flavor, but the grilled shrimp really took it over the top as the icing on the cake! Everything was cooked perfectly!! My wife absolutely love her Sweet Bleu Fire sandwich and our daughter thoroughly enjoyed her Hibachi Burger as well. Yes the sandwiches are on the expensive side, but they are quality gourmet sandwiches and are HUGE as once I was finished with mine I was thoroughly stuffed for the majority of the rest of the day! I was headed home on the motorcycle and wanted to get something to eat when I remembered Black Box Fix in Legacy Village was open late. I stopped and found a very nice little mainly takeout place; nice looking, simple and straightforward. The menu looked good, if a bit expensive, but I had been wanting to try the Shrimp Philly sandwich with the garlic ptarmigan french fries. The order came out in about 10 minutes and I got it home quickly so I could try it hot and fresh. Opening the box the sandwich and fries both look great, the portion size is large and generous and everything is appealing. The first impression when I started to eat is that everything is underseasoned; instead of the shrimp being creole spiced they were well cooked, but lacked much flavor. The fries were decent, but despite being smothered in cheese, they had no flavor and were limp instead of being crispy. The sauce on the sandwich was ok, but no where as good as the reviews made it sound. All of this would have been acceptable if the mushrooms, peppers and onions had not been so overly greasy that it overwhelmed the rest of the sandwich; I love sauteed vegies, but in this case they ruined the meal. With a price of $14.50 I expected a really good to great sandwich, unfortunately what I got was nothing like that. Based on the reviews, plenty of other people have had a much different experience, so it may be worth giving them a try, but as for me I am one and done with Black Box Fix. read more

Located in the former Sweetie Fry spot, my old favorite joint for gourmet ice cream and fries, I wasn't in a particular hurry to go back and find the the new Black Box Fix. When I first saw the sign go up before they opened, I had no idea what it was. Then I discovered that they'd be a sandwich shop... "oh, another sandwich shop." Then I discovered that it's run by Eric Rogers of Nevaeh catering and contestant on Food Network's "Guy's Grocery Games". Then I discovered their menu. With items like... Hibachi Burger - hibachi seasoned beef topped with mozarella/provolone, sauteed mushrooms, onions, peppers & JUMBO grilled shrimp on a toasted kaiser bun with yum yum mayo. OMG Philly - Grilled chicken and JUMBO shrimp with sauteed mushrooms, onions, peppers and melted swiss on a toasted kaiser bun with yum yum mayo. I finally decided to go. If you've seen my previous reviews, I appreciate good food, but what I do not appreciate is overpaying for subpar quality or less than tasty food. The two sandwiches above are no bargain at $13 each, but boy... two of the better and tastiest sandwiches I've ever had, period! AND... they come with hand cut garlic parm fries, yo!! The care and attention to detail and taste that Eric and his kitchen crew puts in their craft shows in the two sandwiches I tried. By the way, there were two of us and split each sandwich - although I could have eaten both myself... they were THAT good! I've paid around $13 for a sandwich recently (and that just the sandwich) at a joint where they claim to serve "the most satisfying burger on earth" and came away very disappointed. The quality of BBF's sandwiches, plus the fact that they combo it with their deliciously satisfying garlic parm fries, made it worth every penny! Also, I asked for medium and they executed it perfectly, unlike other places who can't get the temperature right. Will definitely be back! My only criticism, which has nothing to do with this rating is: my request for a cup of ice water was declined. They offered soda or a bottled water for purchase. This was my first visit to this location. I went maybe 4 years ago when it was on Lee Road. The space is what used to be Yogurt Vi (RIP, that place was awesome!) Next to Cookies by Design. When my friend and I visited, there was no one else dining. We were greeted as soon as we entered and allowed time to pick what we wanted. The menu is pretty short, but that never bothers me. I'm not picky and I would prefer that a restaurant has 10 items they do well than 30 mediocre dishes. My friend and I both got the OMG Philly (chicken and shrimp) and fries. You have the option to select a seasoning for the fries, which is a nice touch. She chose Lemon Pepper and I got Creole Butter. The Creole Butter is a dry seasoning finished with melted butter. It was all the fatty goodness I could have hoped for! The portions were large, I ended up taking half my sandwich and fries home. It didn't take long for us to get our food and it was obviously freshly made. My 11 month old enjoyed her fries and some bits of chicken. Things of note: several patrons came after us and I feel like their food took quite a bit longer than ours. One patron ordered a kids burger and returned to have it remade as it came with ketchup and mayo (maybe the child was a picky eater). They remade it plain, with no problem. There is a single restroom for men and women with no changing table. They do UberEats, but I would imagine in the evening or weekends, it would be hard for the driver to park. My boyfriend and I traveled 35 minutes to try out this restaurant on a Friday night. I ordered the 2.0 and he had the 3.0 with a side of lemon pepper fries. The food was very good, portion size for the price was okay. Even though we called in our order, after arriving we still had to wait approximately 45 to 50 minutes. We'll definitely try again in hopes that our order won't take as long as before, which was truly unacceptable. I don't give out 5 stars often but this one is well deserved. I read on someone's post that this is after hours food after drinking, that's almost an insult. This is far from "after you're drunk food." I also read that the omg sandwich was one of the best sandwiches one yelper had ever had. I will say that I agree that the omg sandwich is one of the best sandwiches I've had (my husband agreed). We ordered the omg sandwich with Cajun fries, the fix chicken sandwich and the Cajun snack pack. The omg sandwich has flavors that explode in your mouth. You would not think chicken and shrimp would go so well together but it's the most genius combination. The fix chicken sandwich was perfectly prepared with the right amount of seasoning and sauce, I thoroughly enjoyed this sandwich laced with pickles, red onion and lettuce. My mom in law had the Cajun snack pack and said the shrimp, catfish and slaw were all very tasty. I heard about this restaurant when he was featured at the Cavs game for a contest and won. I believe it was black history month 2 years back. I immediately took a mental note and finally made it it (I live in Cincy). I was really excited to try this on a trip back to Cleveland for the holidays. I had seen so many posts about the original location on instagram and was determined to get it now that it is slightly closer to where my family lives. I got takeout and decided to go for the signature OMG Philly with plain fries. I did go without the mushrooms but idk if that would have really added anything to the experience. The sandwich itself was large and and the shrimp on top made it look so appetizing. I was expecting to bite into a flavor bomb of a meal but honestly, it was lacking any seasoning at all, like not even salt. My mom ordered the same sandwich and had similar feelings so I don't think it was a one-off experience. Also the actual filling of the sandwhich was way overpowered by the sauce they used, and we could barely taste the chicken or other vegetables. This meal cost us about $30 and we felt like it definitely was overpriced and not worth it. On a positive note, the feeling of the restaurant itself was very relaxed and everyone I interacted with including the cashier and the girl who took my order were pleasant. This place is definitely overhyped and nice if you want to post an indulgent looking meal on instagram but if you're actually hungry, go somewhere else. We got take-out on a Saturday at 4:30pm. There was no wait to order, but there were about 6 people waiting for their food. We were told our food would be ready in 25 minutes. It took 45. I think they needed one extra worker to get the finished food to the customers. The cashiers were too busy taking phone calls and orders to take care of the food coming out of the kitchen. The OMG 2.0 was delicious! They did not skimp on ingredients. It was very juicy and messy, but really good. One sandwich is enough for 2 meals. We also got the stoner fries, which looked amazing, but the taste was just ok, and they were quite soggy. I like my fries with a little bit of crisp. I was so disappointed with ordering here. I had called to talk to someone about an order delivery, and the man was arrogant, rude and condescending. It seemed beneath him to help me with an order via the phone. (Or even answer any questions about the menu). I called after 1 pm, so it wasn't the lunch rush either. After spending an hour via the Uber Eats app they provide, (in between my customers at the store I was working); I finally submitted an order that would take 55 minutes to deliver. It NEVER showed up. I put a specific store location in the directions for the driver, in addition to the address. When I called the restaurant back around 6pm, I had a wonderfully helpful woman give me the Uber Eats phone number (which no longer works), which was a start. It took yet another hour of a heavy discussion before Uber Eats refunded my order (from the Philippines). Mixed feelings about the staff at the restaurant, but they need to drop Uber Eats. read more
