For starters, the tattoo artist ( Tina) didn't speak English too well and was slightly temperamental. I decided to ignore that red flag and proceeded to get a tattoo with Tina anyway... Long story short, the tattoo wasn't that great because she used way too much shadow on my mothers portrait but I let that slide and moved on to the next red flag After 6 hours of mutilating my arm with her over shadowing, Tina decided she had enough and insisted that I come back in two weeks to finish up... Didn't even realize that was a red flag UNTIL... Two weeks later I go back to the same Black Cloud Tattoos to finish my tattoo but before we could get started Tina began demanding an extra $400 on top of the $800 I already paid her. Even tho we agreed the entire tattoo would only cost a hefty $800 When I complained to the store manager about this unethical bait and switch the manager and owner( Lucy Roman) said Tina could charge what she wanted to charge and that I signed a waiver stating that I agreed to those terms.. I personally never heard of an agreement where switch and bait was apart of a business agreement so I didn't think to look for that provision. In any case, Im looking into legal options to get my money back but in the meantime I hope others take heed to the red flags that I ignored with Black Cloud Tattoos unless you want " sucker " tattooed on your forehead.‍

The first reason was my pain tolerance is LOW and after talking to all my friends who had them said it felt like a cheese grater scraping your skin for hours. lol eeek! The second reason was because I keloid if cut too deep so I was afraid of that too. My husband has a huge tattoo from Made to Last but I couldn't go to the same guy because that guy moved out of the city. My good friend said he had a guy who could do it with no problem and he was right! He was also at Made to Last so it was a win win for me. After I knew what a wanted, I booked with Matt Skinny and away I went down the path of getting my tattoo! I LOVE the old house they are in and so admire that they kept the old charm. It so doesn't feel like a tattoo place. Loved all the clientele that walked in and loved all the conversations that were happening around me. I felt comfortable and calm and it took my mind off of the cheese grating that was happening on my arm!!! Lolol! We showed her the reference photo, she asked where we wanted them and a few more questions to make sure we were on the same page. She drew up the design and brought the template to make sure it was the correct size, etc. It was perfect and exactly what we were looking for. Jamison came over and asked a few questions regarding shading/dotting too. They were able to do our tattoos at the same time. Even with two different artists they came out nearly identical! I cannot say enough about how relaxing a vibe was and how amazing Lydia and Jamison were! The circus theme was fun throughout the shop with fun adding to the vibe! Will definitely be back to see Lydia for my next therapy session
