The person piercing us was Kayla ^.^ She MADE sure to make my double nose piercings even, which they were not prior :3 There was very little pain and Kayla is super friendly! Jewelry is on the pricey side BUT the pieces are very beautiful and well worth it. Same goes for the service, worth every penny. This place is a gem. I do feel that it is short staffed in regards to body piercings. It seems like this location only has 2 piercers, Lucy and Cindy, that specialize in genital piercings. With that being said, both piercers are very friendly, professional and educated about the specific piercing. This is the only place I trust with my VCH piercing. This is my second time getting it because my first VCH closed up within days of no jewelry. For both of these sessions I ended up with Cindy. Great jewelry, but pricey. Went in for a piercing for me and a family member, one for a septum and the other an ear cartilage pierce. The staff was patient, and extremely qualified. LUCY was wonderful. Overall the place is very knowledgeable and takes the utmost care with your piercings. They did a great job with our septum and flat piercing on my ear. They also do an anatomy check before you get your septum pierced to see how your septum piercing will lay, discuss options, etc. (especially if you have a deviated septum to make sure what gage you need, for example) Their piercing prices were very reasonable and their jewelry selection was good. Their jewelry is all high quality, but on the expensive side. They follow all sanitary protocol. Highly recommend you confirm your ONLINE appt. before going in otherwise, it's impossible to get in. I was looking to get a few new piercings a couple months ago and after doing some research, I booked an appointment with Cindy at Sadu. She pierced my daith, forward helix, and nostril for me, and she switched out the jewelry on my existing tragus piercing as well. The girl who helped me select my jewelry while I was waiting for Cindy to finish up her last appointment (I showed up early to browse) was incredibly helpful in explaining my options and what would work best based on the piercings I was getting and my anatomy. I was very impressed with the selection of high-quality jewelry to choose from as well. Cindy came out a few minutes later to complete the anatomy check and confirm that the jewelry I selected would work and whisked me back to complete the piercings. She calmly explained what she was doing every step of the way and all 3 piercings and the jewelry change were over in just a few minutes with no pain or discomfort. She then provided aftercare instructions and advised me to set up an appointment to downsize my jewelry on 2 of the piercings in a month and I was on my way. I've followed her instructions and I've had 0 complications at all - even with the daith, which I've read can be tricky to heal. The downsizing appointment went well and I'm sure I'll be back for more piercings and/or jewelry changes in the future. Overall, I was very impressed with the professionalism of the staff and the quality of the products they stock. It's not the cheapest place, but you definitely get what you pay for and you won't have any issues at Sadu. read more

This place looked very established and clean. Loved the atmosphere and the energy when I walked in. The piercing display was fantastic and the front desk people were nice. The only problem i had was with my piercing, i got my bridge piercing done which is the piercing between your eyes. My piercer was Kayla and let me look to see if the dots from the marker she placed on me were accurate and i told her one side looked more off than the other side. She looked at it and I feel like she kinda bypassed the inaccuracy of the dots she places for the piercing but I trusted her to make a correction and once she pierced it and i looked in the mirror it was very crooked. I waited to see if the swelling was the issue but it was still noticeably off in correlation with my face and numerous people noticed it immediately. I just took it out today because they were gonna charge me $5 to take it out. Just make sure you are being forthcoming with what you want and where so they don't gaslight you that's all! read more

Most of the piercers are knowledgeable and very pleasant. All of a sudden the front staff have become rude with a condescending vibe. Everyone like this is a staff member I have never seen before. I stopped in to have a simple post/jewelry change twice and was turned away. I've walked in for this many times. I never mind waiting, and always purchase a $$$$ piece while I wait. The first time the "last appointment was in and they wouldn't be taking anyone else". It was 4:35. I thought maybe the hours had changed bc I've had tons of jewelry changes as a walk in around this time of day. I asked what time they close and was told "7:00". The "last guest" came out at 4:55 the first time, two hours before close. I decided to leave without saying anything...and not purchasing anything. Missed sale. Again this was for a quick post change. They gave me better days to come as a walk in: I took the advice and came back. Today was the same. The person told me they take their last appointment at 6:30...at 5:15. Then realized the time when I looked confused, and back tracked to say or around 5:45 but we're booked. I was told by this person only by appointment two times. I voiced that I've always walked in for post or jewelry changes but it got basically a blank look. I said I would just make an appointment. The jewelry is very expensive. I've had two pieces literally just fall out. One went down my sink as I was washing my face. Thankfully I found the other. The posts were not prepped properly. After thinking about it, I've decided to go somewhere else. Honestly, half of my experiences at Sadu have been frustrating. I MAY get pierced there with an appt, but I'll order jewelry online from other small businesses and have changes done with other local piercers. This is my neighborhood and I love supporting businesses here. I've really tried, but the reviews that talk about the attitude are absolutely on point. After my youngest daughter begged for months to get her earlobes pierced and much research online, I decided to take her to Sadu. The staff is very nice and helpful. Lucy did a wonderful job piercing her ears. If you're considering getting your child a piercing, steer clear of Claire's. Leave the piercing up to the professionals! I learned this the hard way after our local Claire's tore up my oldest daughters right earlobe. With Sadu, it was completely different experience. Lucy was reassuring, informative, and professional which made my 6 year old feel confident and trusting of the process. She only experienced minor discomfort the day of the piercing, the following day the swelling almost completely subsided and her ears healed quickly with zero issues. The atmosphere wasn't welcoming. Very stuffy and bougie. And the people working the front looked dirty. I feel like they're racially biased. My teenage daughter felt the same way. When we read some reviews others have experienced the same. One review was from a white person that was a witness to how a black person was treated as if they were aggravating the counter worker. When asked the same question her white mother had. Who was treated with respect and patience. She even went on to say that the workers talked badly about the customer after the customer left. In which she felt was unfair because customer was calm and the question was a valid concern . Clearly, the workers need to be educated on racial biases are and how they show up. Because they have a race problem at this establishment. I am grateful for the bad experience at this establishment because it led my daughter and I to Black Cloud Tattoo and Body Piercing located on the Plaza where we felt welcomed and we received stellar customer service. They were welcoming , clean and knowledgeable. And was already aware of the complaints I had about Sadu. Especially, about their uppiity attitudes and not feeling welcomed. Specially black people. The ladies here were all very nice and took care of me. Super chill environment and they are very understanding. I had to get my back dermals removed after having them for almost 10 years. They kept getting irritated especially when I would do ab workouts or drove for long periods of time. I got them done back in IL and would recommend getting them done at Sadu since these ladies know their stuff. if you have any sense - don't go here!! I was too trusting and now i have a scar!! I have gotten pierced by sadu twice. My first time sucked but turned out okay, my second turned out completely horrifying. Both times you're greeted by a sign in sheet and an insanely long wait time. My second piercing (belly button) I got there at 11, to leave by 1:45 because the piercer was late and extra workers were getting lunch. Other people were seen before me and the piercer pierced me with a bar that was WAY too short. But I trusted her because she's the piercer and obviously I don't have any professional training in that field. Well - flash forward a couple weeks, my piercing is still extremely irritated and swollen but became so swollen that it engulfs the top portion of my jewelry because the bar was too short. I was in another country at that time so I was left to my own devices to work the stone out of my own stomach and have a friend remove it and now I have a hideous scar on my stomach all because of this awful piercing shop. Well, if you're looking to spend around $200-$300 to get your ear lobes pierced, this sure is the place for you. I went with basic gold studs, and because they sell the posts separate from the earrings, I had to spend $146 in addition to the $50 service charge for their most basic jewelry. Add in the fact that if you tip on your card, their machine is set up to allow you to leave 15%, 18%, 20%, or 25% on the JEWELRY cost, not the service charge. So bring cash. I wound up spending $230.08 to get my lobes pierced, and my poor sister wound up spending $298.05 because I got the last set of basic gold studs, and she also didn't realize she was tipping on the jewelry cost, rather than the actual service until it was too late. We were also told we could not choose from the majority of their gold basics section because they were too small for initial piercings. Their website says to call about jewelry before making an appointment if you are unsure, but they are not accepting calls right now. On a positive note, the staff was friendly and the studio was clean! Lol read more

I have been waiting months to get to Sadu and I finally did! About 6 months ago I had a few messages with Corinna about curated piercings. She was super helpful and nice but I was in a bad car accident and had to postpone going due to injuries and MRI & CT tests. I headed over to the shop today and was greeted immediately. I signed in and Sadie called me up to the counter within a matter of 5-10 minutes. There were about 4 clients ahead of me, and it honestly was no big deal. Sadie took the time out to go over my paperwork, asked what piercings I was interested in and went through the cases of jewelry to help me find what I was looking for. I wasn't sure if I would have enough room on either one of my ears for the daith piercing, so she had Cindy do an anatomy check prior to choosing the jewelry for that specific piercing. She was awesome! She was well educated on jewelry, the process and gave really good recommendations. Once I was cleared from the anatomy check, I selected all my jewelry, cashed out and waited for my turn. The wait honestly, wasn't even bad. I think I waited maybe a half hour if that before Cindy was ready for me. She was super professional and gave me the skinny on pretty much every aspect of the healing process and aftercare. I research a lot before I buy or have anything done, and I've had other body piercings so I didn't ask for details on what happens--because I already knew. However, if you do have questions she 100% can answer them with a lot of detail and walk you through it. You can tell she's super experienced. She drew on some areas for placement, which were spot on and I loved her suggestions. We started with the daith on my left ear and then moved onto the tragus and conch on my right. The entire process was smooth, I didn't really have any pain (I can only speak to my personal pain threshold but I mean in reality you can't go into a piercing thinking it won't hurt at least a little), she was gentle, and did an awesome job. Within an hour, my ears weren't even red anymore! I didn't experience any type of throbbing pain or feel like my ears were on fire. I did buy the aftercare saline spray there, and Cindy gave me a card with instructions which included a coupon for my follow up visit in 30 days to change out the posts. I had two friends recommend Sadu to me, and I couldn't have had a more positive experience. The jewelry selection was great, the customer service was excellent, they took really great care of me; I will 100% be back. I really felt comfortable trusting Sadie and Cindy in their suggestions, piercing skill and knowledge. Although my interaction with Corinna was only over messages through Yelp, she was super friendly, informative and helpful. I didn't have any extended interactions with anyone else at the shop, but I know the same level of customer care and service probably exists through all their staff. I got my first piercings here, excluding my ears, it was an overall good experience. I was sad that they didn't do horseshoe for snakebites the first time but a lot of my friends say these suit me more so I guess that's a win I guess the only "complaint" I have is over the price but I was already aware of it through previous reviews, I still went anyways. Overall the front staff were super friendly and so was Lucy but her laugh made me more nervous then anything the piercing was quick and I was given a popsicle after which was rlly nice of em! Terrible service. I got a double helix piercing at a different piercing place out of state and was looking to change to shorter posts. I called Sadu to see about making an appointment and they didn't bother to answer their phone. The automated message already warns they don't staff the business properly. I drive 20+ minutes to get there only for the girl to awkwardly stumble around telling me they are appointment-only and can't see me at all today. There was no trying to see what they could do, no apology for the inconvenience of not answering and not attempting to squeeze in a new customer, it was simply, we can't get you in today come back next week.
