Great barbecue and great drinks. This place was conveniently located close to our Airbnb. I look forward to visiting again and trying some other items off the menu the next time that we are in the area. Looks like it's in an old general store.

Cool bbq spot with a nice outdoor picnic table seating amongst the tiger lilies, with the smokers wafting the aroma of the meats of your selection. Love the sides. Love the variety of smoked meats and sides. A fun spring, summer or fall spot. Great friendly service. Highly recommend it.

I absolutely love snowboarding and my girlfriend got interested in skiing recently, the fire I decided it would be great for us to take a Valentine's Day weekend trip to VT. We ended up staying at a house not too far from Stowe mountain and all the locals recommended Black Diamond BBQ. We got so many recommendations we couldn't pass up the opportunity. After arriving at the house and having some drinks we decided to walk over to the restaurant and it was pretty busy. Looked like almost all the tables were full but we ended up getting one. The venue isn't the largest since it takes place in an older home but it has a great vibe to it. I ended up ordering the pulled pork sandwich with some extra vegetables on it and I absolutely loved it. I loved it so much it didn't even last five minutes. My girlfriend got the vegan sandwich and I really enjoyed the bite I took out of it as well. Since both things we ordered off the menu was really good, I don't see why everything else wouldn't be. We are also big craft beer drinkers and their IPA's and other brews were excellent. I have to say, if you're anywhere in the area even if this spot is out of the way, it's worth the trip.

Food and service is always great and the drink variety is awesome. Our go to menu items are the dry rub wings and the turkey.

BBQ isn't bad . Sides suck and it's way over priced. Also you can't get FF without gravy on them.

So up to know, over the last 45 years, we park on the main Mansfield Lodge, do the schlep up to the back side of the lodge, put our boots and helmets on, then take our skis, practice self-torture and do the climb up what it seems like 10 stories of narrow treads and high risers on the stairway to the Fourrunner Quad and even then it's an additional upslope schlep. So then a friend calls me up and we agree to meet at the Midway Lodge first thing in the morning and my reply was "You mean that lunch place? I gather we'll have to take the Quad to Rimrock and then meet you there"... And he laughed and laughed and told me that I'm so set in my ways that I've been doing the same think for 45 years... That's how I learned about the parking lot three feet from Midway. I can say with certainty than other than a late afternoon apres at the Mansfield Lodge, I see no reason to ever be at the Mansfield Lodge. Midway is a superb building. You can change downstairs, exit to go skiing from downstairs, and leave from downstairs and you don't have to practice orthopedic Russian Roulette by walking up stairs on ski boots. The rest rooms are way better and cleaner, the cafeteria is superb. And best of all, a ski-in and ski-out sit-down restaurant with great service and really good food. The downstairs changing room does have a sign that during the lunch hour, it's reserved for kids in their ski program. Which is fine by me because I like the sitdown service and if I'm in a total hurry, the cafeteria suits me as a second. I have found it easier to ski the Gondola terrain and then head off to the Fourrunner quad terrain than the other way. So starting off at the Midway Lodge was optimum. We skied well into lunch time and then stopped back at the lodge for a sit-down faire featuring really great barbecue lunch, local brews and a sumptuous salad with salmon. All together with amazing views. My new place to start the day at Stowe.

It's beautiful; at the edge of one of the top parking lots, you can drive to it or ski to it. And they have BBQ. Decent BBQ, pulled pork, brisket, sausage. It's a BBQ window next to the bar. All the windows around the bar allow you to watch the skiers and snow boarders fly by and you can watch the gondola overhead. There's also a regular old ski area cafeteria that serves all classic ski goodies - chili and chowder in bread bowls, yogurts, hamburgers, hot dogs, sandwiches, HOT CHOCOLATE, bananas, sodas, water, cookies. Soggy pizza, you name it, it's there. I had a Philly dog, covered in chili, cheese. Unbelievable. The lodge also has a ski store: Stowe branded garments, chap stick, pint glasses, jackets, hand warmers, gloves, sun glasses. All the essentials. The bar - drank the number 9. A lot of them. My brother also had a lot of them. I am pretty sure they had a lot of them too. This is an awesome lodge that you need to visit and hang out for along time. TVs for news, skiers all around, ski in ski out. Drive in drive out.

Despite the packed house, servers were friendly and reasonably attentive, and while the food came out slow, that's to be expected. I wouldn't say it was unreasonable at all considering the volume, AND they were churning out a ton of to-go orders. No televisions in here, which I loved, and a great vibe. Tons of people just having a great time. Great non-alcoholic drink menu. About to celebrate three years of sobriety, and I truly appreciate that. The food was good-great, depending. My wife got a salad with pulled pork and I got the brisket. Both were just "fine" and the meats desperately needed sauce. The brisket was pretty dry, which was disappointing. We also split a side of the smoked mushrooms, which we thought were good, and the pasta salad, which was unfortunately quite bland and not very noteworthy at all despite using pasta from the acclaimed Gallus. Now here's the sleeper: the dry rub wings were incredible. Some of the best I've ever had! Don't miss out on these just because they're on the appetizer menú. If I came back I'd just get a double order of these bad boys. Sweet and smoky and cooked to perfection. Absolute 10/10.

So while on a trip and looking for a spot to grab some lunch naturally we ended up picking this spot. I've been aware of Lost Nation Brewing but it's been since 2016/2017 when I had a beer from them last. To start they have ample parking and have a nicely painted mural on the side of their building. They have an indoor section we did not check that out and instead sat at the bar in the outdoor section. How can you pass up looking into the kitchen and also the wafting scents of burgers, fries and everything else being cooked. Despite a chillier day than most we have had lately it was worth it! Besides their own brews they had guest taps, guest botttles/cans, and even some cocktails including some spiked apple cider for that fall feeling drink. For beer fans they even had a rotating Hillfarmstead DIPA for a guest tap. I ended up getting their Kolsch and my wife got their gose. Both very solid beers and worth grabbing. Food wise they had a couple burgers, fried chicken sandwich, pulled pork, turkey sandwich, hot dogs, and some small plates. My wife ended up choosing the burger and I got their fried chicken sandwich. She enjoyed the burger and thought it was cooked very well. The chicken sandwich was delicious, the fact it was smothered in honey did make it a bit messy to eat but tasted so good! The fries we got were massive and well seasoned and the side of pickles were great too. Would be a no brainer to get either one again if we visit again! Bartender was friendly and we didn't wait long at all for the drinks or food! Well made brews paired along side delicious food, really what more could you ask for? If you visit during warmer weather it appeared they have a huge outdoor area further back than we were in as well! If you like visiting breweries add this to your list to check out!

The poutine was very good, but I'll grant you that it's maybe hard to get that wrong - but their gravy is on point! Duncan was the server, who disclosed that he was new but you wouldn't know it from how he took orders and brought food out. Even threw him a curve by asking for the steak frites with an additional side of brussel sprouts, which he handled no problem - even though there weren't any sides I saw on the menu. Steak was medium rare and perfectly seasoned, and I think I mentioned the chimichurri but it deserves additional mention. Maybe you're wondering about beverages. The maple lemonade is great - it leans harder on the tart side and there are sweeter options around (Cliff House) but I love a lemonade that tastes... lemony. Pineapple cherry punch was also a hit - but that's secondhand hearsay, unlike my direct opinion on the chimichurri - which I would drink if I could. Definitely check this place out. The atmosphere was fun and relaxed, and the staff made us feel welcome from the moment we walked in. I ordered the turkey BLT wrap, and it was absolutely amazing. Toward the end it did get a little wet and soggy, but it was still so good that it did not take away from the overall experience. The food was definitely the highlight of our visit. Everything tasted fresh, and you could tell care went into preparing each dish. The prices are a little on the higher side, but the generous portion size and quality made it worth it. Let's start with what we enjoyed during our visit: the drinks were good... the atmosphere was cool (more like a contemporary "cabin" vibe, which was definitely inviting)... and the staff were all stellar!! Where Ranch Camp let us down on this visit was the food. In fact, we desperately wanted to love the experience because everything LOOKED fantastic. However, all the food we ordered was bland. It all started with the pork nachos, which our party of 3 ordered as an appetizer. It was piled high and dripping with ingredients... but the dish completely lacked flavor. The pork was perfectly tender but tasted flavorless (until I added hot sauce and salt). I would also recommend they serve the dish with pico de gallo or salsa to boost the flavor. We had the same feeling with the burrito bowls. Two of us ordered different burritos (opting for bowls instead of tortillas), and we both thought the flavor was just okay. And on top of that, both of our bowls were lukewarm. In fact, the entrées weren't even hot enough to melt the cheese. I wish I would have sent the food back, but we were in a bit of a hurry. Finally, my friend James ordered the Chicken Quesadilla, which he also thought was "just okay." Oh, and we noted that a table near us sent back food... so not sure what was up with that, but we we weren't surprised based on our overall experience. Final Thoughts: Prior to visiting Ranch Camp, I read plenty of reviews praising the restaurant, so I'd like to think that they were just having a bad day.
